I know this book made a huge commercial splash. It was so big that I saw it in airport bookstores right after its publication, in 2013. A week ago (October 2017) while at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, I saw that it's still being sold in airport bookstores.

When I first read it, I wasn't ready to accept the findings of current Biblical scholarship. The things Alsan brought out offended me and nearly shipwrecked my faith. Since then, I've read several other works in the same vein. The similar information is resting easier on me. The Bible is, after all, a book about spirituality, theology and faith. It's not a history textbook.
