I had requested this book after binging Elsie Silver’s Chestnut Springs series as I was in a bit of a cowboy romance era. This book was so cute. I couldn’t stop listening.
Love Naturally is the first book in a new series by Sophie Sullivan. Presley Ayers is a concierge at an exclusive hotel in Great Falls, Michigan. She can tell you about champagne and caviar, but knows nothing about camping, fishing, hiking of nature. She will put up with it for her boyfriend, so surprises him with a vacation for two at the Get Lost Lodge near Lake Michigan. He tells her he wants to take a buddy, not her and promptly dumps her. Presley takes back her gift and decides to go alone. She is picked up at the dock by Beckett Keller, and it is obvious to him that she is in the wrong place. The lodge is crumbling, he's trying to rebuild it and doesn't have time to entertain or put up with who he refers to as "Ms. Fish-Out-of-Water". As much as they have not interest in getting involved with anyone, they can't ignore the pull they have toward one another. They say opposites attract.
This is a fun opposites attract rom-com. I liked Presley, especially that she was willing to step out of her comfort zone and try new things. I think if I had gotten sick on the boat ride over, I might have just hung out in my cabin/room and read my book, but not Presley. When she gives in to the sexual attraction they seem to have, it's just a ten day fling, then she'll be off home. Beckett is working hard to make a go of the lodge for his family, yet he can't ignore the attraction her has. I enjoyed meeting the secondary characters and hope they will get their own story in another book. The dialogue was great and the witty banter between the characters had me smiling. This is a story about family, finding your place, taking chances, and of course romance. I enjoyed the setting of Smile, Michigan and the Get Lost Lodge and would love to actually visit there. I listened to the audiobook narrated by Julie Rogers. She did a wonderful job bringing this story to life with her voices. Her pacing and tone were wonderful and I know listening to this one added to my enjoyment.
It’s a grand gesture when a boutique hotel concierge Pressley gifts her boyfriend of eight months with a 10-day vacation at a wilderness resort with hiking, fishing, sweat, and bugs… but when he thinks it’s too soon for their relationship to spend such a long time together, she promptly–smartly!–dumps him, and decides to solo the trip. The Get Lost Lodge is charming, but it’s financial position is precarious, and Pressley’s background is just what the struggling Keller siblings. She ends up working more than relaxing, all the while falling head over heels for #hotmountainman Beckett, who has his own dreams of owning a bicycle rental shop.
It was initially difficult for me to get into this story. Pressley presents as naive and came across as a bit two-dimensional. The immediate attraction was believable except that Pressley was ready to move in with her ex in spite of all the red flags. Everything beyond kissing is closed door. The writing is good and the whole piece is light and fluffy and sweet and predictable, while being authentic to influencer culture, with wonderful sensory details about the great outdoors. Rogers makes great choices for voicing each character distinctively, and keeps the story moving.
The dual point of view would have been enhanced by a male and female narrator, instead of just Julie Rogers, who is not untalented, but did not manage to differentiate well at the beginning of new chapters whose head we were in.
I received a free advance reviewer’s copy of #LoveNaturally from #NetGalley.
This was my first novel by this author. It was an enjoyable romance and I look forward to more novels by this author. I would recommend this one.
I enjoyed the story in this book and the characters themselves. I love a dual POV, so this was perfect.
This was my fool me twice third chance and while I did not dislike it, it will not be memorable in a month from now. Cute and a typical Romance. Great cover!
This is my third Sophie Sullivan book and, of the three, my second favorite. I'd recently read another big city vs. local townie in a small town romance which I LOVED, so I recognize my thoughts are probably overshadowed by that. However, I did enjoy this fun, adventurous book!
I think the main relationship was thoughtful, emotional and not just based on spice, like some romance books are; you get the more tender side of people being vulnerable with each other. I also love a big city girl being forced to experience the wild and outdoorsy activities - it gives the nicer version of Meredith Blake on the infamous Parent Trap camping trip, honestly, and I love it!
I think the biggest win in this book is the found family and secondary characters; they are not just there, but feel like whole characters that truly add to the main plot and relationship.
After Presley surprises her boyfriend with a vacation, the last thing she expects is to get dumped after gifting it to him, so she decides to make it a solo trip for herself to the small town of Smile, Lake Michigan.
I didn’t expect to get so swept away by this sweet romance story in LOVE, NATURALLY. The opening chapter was so funny, and I immediately gravitated towards the characters and upbeat writing. Presley and Beckett had an j Shang attraction and such great chemistry, and the secondary characters were just as great. It was just the lighthearted romcom I needed after reading a few darker and emotional reads lately.
I loved escaping to the small vacation town of Smile and the Get Lost Resort, and it was such an adorable romance that gave me those travel vibes I’m craving this Winter.
The Keller siblings had such a great bond, and I loved their dynamic to come together when they needed the support. Yes the romance is pure insta-love with all the cheesiness, but that’s what I loved so much about it too.
🎧I paired the book with the audio and loved this immersive style of reading! I really enjoyed the narration by Julie Rodgers and felt Presley’s character come to life. It really added to this cute story that was so full of heart and humor.

This book was difficult to finish. The narrator wasn't good at changing her voice for other characters, and she tended to pronounce names weirdly. The characters were average and predictable. The dialogue was horrible; it sounded like a bad fanfiction - cheesy and sometimes sounding like English wasn't the characters' first language. Ultimately, I predicted the climax from the beginning.
It was truly hard to get through.
This story was very cute. I don't have anything bad to say about the plot itself. I loved seeing the main female character navigate small town life and falling in love with the guy that she got off on the wrong foot with. Their romance was so sweet. The only qualm I have is that I personally do not enjoy closed door romances. This is definitely going to make its way into my public library for patrons that enjoy that type of thing.
thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy. I really enjoyed this and will be getting copies for my shop.
literally a hallmark movie
big city workaholic takes a trip to a small town, stays in a cabin, learns to appreciate the outdoors, and saves a small family business, all while falling in love
also like a hallmark movie, I really didn’t feel the chemistry between the main characters, but it was still a mildly enjoyable easy read
I love a good small town, opposites attract romance. This one was a fun read, a closed door romance with a lot of focus on family. I do love when we get to know side characters well.
The audio of this book made everything even more enjoyable. It was well done and I would listen to more books from this narrator.
Overall, a great read I will recommend to friends.
Sophie Sullivan is an insta-buy for me. All of her books are so happy and wholesome! This insta love was adorable. I enjoyed this so much! Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for the opportunity to read in exchange for a review!
I absolutely adored this audiobook! It was too cute and swoon-worthy. I literally finished it in a day I couldn’t stop
3 stars. This wasn't my favorite book by the author nor one i remember. What drew me in was the cover. But i felt like the storyline was outplayed and overdone before. I might read the next book from the author but this just wasnt for me or the type of book i would enjoy
Love, Naturally by Sophie Sullivan is a good fit for those seeking a heartwarming and humorous romance about opposites attracting and finding love in a small town setting.
This was a cutesy feel good story. I enjoyed listening to it but I wasn't blown away. I wanted more chemistry to come off the page between Beckett and Presley. I like both characters and I could relate to Presley since I am not an outdoorsy person unless I am at a beach. It was a enjoyable light easy read.
A cute, run-of-the-mill romance novel about a big city girl who dumps her loser boyfriend only to find love off the coast of a small town at a summer lodge retreat. Presley is sunshine-personified, even when dealing with the heartbreak of her past, who creates a stir when she posts a picture of Beckett onto her micro-influencer Instagram. Beckett is kind and bashful, and doesn’t totally understand all of the fuss about him on the internet, but takes it gladly if it means he gets to “fake-date” Presley.
I enjoyed listening to the audiobook, and thought both voice actors were emphatic and engaging. I find with cookie-cutter romances like this I can become bored when reading them, so listening to this story held my attention a lot more.
I loved the found family Presley found at the lodge with Beckett and his siblings, and had a few laugh-out-loud moments when it came to the outlandish personalities of some of the lodge guests. This book was nothing new, and I honestly probably won’t remember it in a few months, but it was still a very sweet and cute story with a smile-inducing happy ending.
Cute romcom with compelling characters. Loved the dual POV and the narrator. There were a few parts I felt were a bit slow but overall the vibe was great so I kept going!
