After Presley finds herself dumped instead of on a flight to Get Lost Lodge with her now ex boyfriend after surprising him with the trip - she decides to go solo. Falling right into Beckett’s arms, quite literally. Beckett can tell she has no idea what she is doing, it’s clear from her new hiking boots and her lack of desire to be outdoors. But when Presleys lodge rooms heat goes out, forcing her to stay in Becketts cabin, it becomes obvious, Presley made the right decision to come on her own. And Beckett - well he’s falling.
First things first, Ollie was the real main character here. The absolute cutest little thing. The forced proximity of this book had me swooning all the way. The found family? Absolute dreams come true! Becketts family - who runs the lodge, was just perfection. Every side character helped the story build with each passing word.
Jealous. Yes that’s me. Jealous that these two beautiful souls found head over heels love within a week! When Beckett said Presleys whole name?! Oh. My. God. Lost it. Boutta have my own funeral over here! It was that good. When Presley called him by his whole name?! Yup, deceased. Over and over again. These two just melted together.
Cannot wait to read more by Sophie Sullivan!
Thank you to NetGalley & Macmillan Audio for the audiobook version of this book. I am in no way compensated for my review. Everything I wrote is of my own thoughts, feelings, and opinions.
Presley and Becketts love story is so sweet! This was an amazing book to start out the new year.
Presley has her life mapped out and planned- she has a boyfriend she wants to bring things to the next level. On his birthday she presents him with a 10 day trip he’s been wanting. Only he doesn’t want to be with Presley. They break up and Presley decides to go on the trip solo. On the trip she meets and falls in love with Beckett. Their love story is so sweet. Presley is a city girl doing the outdoor thing- while Beckett is the opposite he loves the outdoor lifestyle. Her business smarts helps him with his family business and his own business dream. They’re opposite- but opposites attract!
You’ll enjoys this feel good sweet opposites attract romance!
This was a fun and flirty rom com. I've enjoyed Sophie Sullivan's previous books and was excited to get the chance to read this one! Being from Michigan, I appreciated the setting and references to the Great Lakes area. I thought the FMC's job in hospitality was interesting and loved how all of her experience helped the family at the lodge where she was vacationing. Also, I loved that she went solo on vacation after dropping her ex like a hot potato.
As with any 'insta-relationship' storyline, I was interested to see how the relationship would progress over six days. I think the characters had a mature recognition of the length of time they knew each other and didn't have unrealistic expectations from the start. Of course, I had to suspend a little reality to get over the hump that knowing someone for a week would encourage a complete rearranging of life goals - but the way the storyline was crafted didn't make me feel like I was completely outside the bounds of potential reality (if that makes any sense at all).
The audio narration was very well done. I think the only thing that would have been interesting to play with would have been having narrators for each of the MC POVs. There's something about hearing the MMC POV in a male voice that can be really enjoyable. Overall though, the narration was great and helped enhance the enjoyment of experiencing the story. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this story and provide a review.
This was such a cute read!! I love the fake dating trope, and this one was written out perfectly! It made me want to go to a place like Get Lost. Thanks, NetGalley for the audio ARC!
Love, Naturally is a fun, sweet, cute romance about a couple that seemingly have nothing in common. Fresh from a breakup, the social media influencer takes an outdoorsy vacation on her own and meets a "hot mountain man." In addition to romantic love, the characters experience relationships with family and friendships. The plot is entertaining, and the people are likeable. However, I expected a little more resistance in the opposites attract themed book.
In my opinion, the narrator was a smart choice for the female lead. She has good pacing, is easy to understand, and fits in the role she was cast in. It would have been nice to have a male narrate the chapters that were written in the guy's point of view.
The audiobook is entertaining overall.
Presley finds herself going on a solo trip to Get Lost Lodge after her boyfriend breaks up with her at his birthday dinner. She learns many things about herself while she’s there, including that she’s been seeking the wrong man because the perfect one for her is at Get Lost. Beckett treats her so well and she completely falls for him, but the major issue is that she lives too far away to make it work. They agree to make it a short term thing, but will that work?
Such a cute book! I loved listening to it and loved the narrator, too!
This book gives major small town romance, Hallmark movie vibes. I thought it was a fun, cute, and quick read about a girl who goes on a trip to a small town planned for her and her boyfriend right after their breakup. She ends up becoming fast friends (or maybe more?) with the man that's working at the lodge she's staying at. I liked the relationship between her and the MMC and his family who owns the lodge as well as everyone staying at the lodge and the residents of the small town. The way the FMC learned and grew throughout the book was great to see. I didn't love all the mentions of TikTok and social media, I felt that it was a bit cringey. I also felt like it was a bit of an insta-love trope but the growth in their relationship by the end made me forget about that issue. I listened on audio and didn't love the narrator as I felt like her voices weren't different enough between some of the characters so I was a bit confused who was talking most of the time, especially because it was dual POV. Overall a fun romance perfect for those that love a happy, small town romance.
Love, Naturally has such a wonderful setting and cast of characters. I loved reading Presley and Beckett's love story and thought they had a great relationship throughout the book. This book had me intrigued the moment Presley decided to go on the trip she planned for her boyfriend (now ex-boyfriend) after he was SO rude to her! I loved Presely's giving nature and caring attitude as she worked to help the family lodge get its modern day groundings. Beckett was the perfect MMC with a caring attitude that was highlighted when he thought about his own dreams compared to his family's.
I would recommend this book to someone looking for a wholesome summery getaway.
I loved this sweet story! Presley is such a kind, loving person and I love that she goes on the vacation she planned for her and her (now ex) jerk boyfriend. She is nervous and anxious about various things, but doesn't let that keep her from going on an adventure! I loved Beckett too! He was such a sweetheart, loving his family and wanting them to be well taken care of, putting his life plans on hold to make sure they're covered.
I loved Beckett and Presley together! They bring out the best of each other-- Beckett making Presley more comfortable in this adventure, and Presley giving Beckett some fun and excitement while home with his family. Both of them are just such good, loveable people, you can't help but root for them! I also loved all the side characters, and how loving they are.
Overall, just a lovely, sweet, fun story that left me feeling all warm and snuggly.
Thank you for the audio ARC!!!
Adequate. I'm killing here with faint praise, but it's the best I can do. Love, Naturally is a cute-ish story of a city girl finding love in an unexpected non-city setting (island resort in northern Michigan). The family dynamics (his, on the island--hers were a bit far-fetched) were good, the story line fine, and the ending predictably satisfying. I never enjoy characters with self-esteem issues, and Presley Ayers, a successful hotel concierge, nonetheless carries around a whole lot of them and needs to be convinced that she's worthy of love. The ambiance was seductive, and the book had me hoping a trip to Mackinaw (not the setting, but similar) may be somewhere in my not-too-distant future.
I listened to the audio version of this book narrated by Julie Rogers. The narration was fine, but I had a hard time getting through this one.
This was an instalove trope, which was kind of hard to accept considering the main character was a day past a breakup. I could accept that for the sake of fiction. What I really struggled with was how slowly the story went. I'm trying to figure out if every scene was just drawn out too much or if the dialogue was just too wordy. Whatever the reason, the author wasn't holding my attention. This one just wasn't for me.
Thanks to MacMillan Audio and NetGalley for the gifted audio. All opinions are my own.
Love, Naturally by Sophie Sullivan is my first book of 2024. I love how Sophie writes a heartfelt story with characters who feel genuine. Presley ends up breaking up with her ex and then goes on the surprise birthday trip she planned for him. Besides suddenly being alone, the bad part is that she has to be outdoors doing activities she's not fond of. She meets Beckett, whose family runs the Get Lost lodge on an island in Lake Michigan. This was an insta-love, small-town, forced proximity; opposites attract romance story. This is also a closed-door romance for those wondering. Overall, I enjoyed this story. I'm just not a huge insta-love fan.
Thank you, Macmillan Audio, for the audiobook. It was well-narrated. I would recommend it.
I thoroughly enjoyed Sophie Sullivan's opposites attract romance, Love, Naturally.
This is a sweet story, and I admired Presley's pluck. Plus Beckett's patience is completely endearing.
The audio version of Love, Naturally is performed by Julie Rogers.
Love, Naturally is like a Hallmark movie in book form. Was it predictable and kind of cheesy? Yes. Did I enjoy every second of it? Also, yes. It's a fun, easy read that left me feeling good. I did loose track of where I was in Presley's 10-day trip a few times, but ultimately, it didn't take away from my reading experience. I definitely would love to read more about Beckett's siblings in future books.
Thank you to Macmillan Audio for providing this audiobook for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
I absolutely LOVED this book. I utterly fell in love with these characters, there is just something about them. From the moment, Presley decided to go it alone. I knew I would love her. I can't wait till this book is out so all of my friends can fall in love with these characters and this world as much as i did!
This book has ruined me for other books. I still have a book hangover weeks after reading this. Love! Love! Love!
First, I LOVE Beckett! *Swoon* I also love that we had duel POVs so we get to be in his head, Really understand his perspective. It makes it easy to understand how he acts and what drives him.
Presley is also wonderful. She takes on things she has never done, challenges herself, and learns a lot about herself along the way.
I would also be remiss if I did not mention the supporting characters, they are PERFECTION!! If this does not become a series i will be devastated. I want to see Beckett’s brother and sister find love!! Sign me up! I am officially a Sophie Sullivan super fan!!
Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the Audio ARC!
Love, Naturally
By Sophie Sullivan
Narrated by Julie Rogers
Y’all!! This book, it’s chefs kiss! I could not stop reading, okay well, listening! I I was swooning, laughing out loud and smiling through this entire book. This was a beautifully written story, with hallmark movie vibes, which is my absolute favorite!
Beckett and Presley will have you rooting for them nonstop. Their love story is one with all the feelings, you cannot help but fall in love too. Their chemistry is off the charts! This was a closed door romance, once again another of my favorites, so you know what’s happening but not all the spicy details which I’m totally okay with.
All the secondary characters of the book, I just loved them. Beckett’s family, they were such an added spark to this book. Ollie, Jilly and Grayson I hope we see more of them in the future. All the visitors to the lodge, you couldn’t help but love them.
I HIGHLY recommend this book! I love it, I REALLY did! I will be anxiously awaiting the next novel by Sophie Sullivan.
The audiobook was wonderful, I really liked Julie Rodgers. She did a great job bringing life to each character. It was a fun, upbeat, perky performance that will keep you engaged until the very end. Awesome job Julie!
Thank you to St. Martin’s Press, MacMillan audio and Sophie Sullivan for an advanced copy.
I am a huge fan of Sophie Sullivan and her Jansen Brothers series, so when I was given the opportunity to read a new book from her, I jumped at the chance and it did not disappoint!
Presley plans a ten day vacation to a cute little fishing lodge for her boyfriend. She secretly packs his bag, gets time off from his work and surprises him on his birthday only for him to respond is saying ten days is too much time together and he would much rather go with a friend. Well this was the last straw on their mediocre relationship and Presley decides to go on the vacation on her own. Only boats make her seasick, she's never fished a day in her life, and the thought of staying in a cabin in the woods makes her wonder if anyone would hear her scream.
But then Beckett Keller comes in... he's on the boat handing her a paper bag, he's there to steady her when she trips over a tree root, and he offers up his cabin when the AC in her room is set to freezing (insert "one room troupe" here). Will Beckett's charm help Presley find adventure in fishing, hiking, biking, and a rustic lodge or will she return to her big city, high heels, and social media world without a look back?
A summery, sweet, small town romance. This book follows city girl Presley and small town Beckett. This book made me want to be reading it by a little lakeside cabin! It paints a beautiful picture of a lakeside town that anyone would want to vacation at if you like the outdoors!
One thing I will say is that this book took me a little longer than normal because I had trouble feeling like the characters were real. Maybe it was just that I did not connect to them as much but I still enjoyed the book just not as much as I initially expected.
But I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a small-town romance where opposites attract. Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this story.
4 stars
From my review of the e-book "Love, Naturally is an opposites attract, indoorsy woman meets outdoorsy man. She ends up at his family's summer lodge on an island in Michigan after her "boyfriend" shows just what a jerk he really is. So, she takes what was intended to be a couples vacation solo. Presley is not about the nature life, and there are some funny scenes. But, there's a lot of love - not just the romance, but between the siblings who own the lodge. They're all making sacrifices for each other, to help each other realize their dreams. Also, Sullivan should be a travel writer. I never had a desire to vacation in Michigan until after I read this book!"
Now, I'm enjoying another visit to the Get Lost Lodge via audio! The narrator is perfect for the role and does a good job of delineating the various voices of the characters.
Thank you Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for the opportunity to enjoy this audiobook in return for an honest review!
