I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. I tried to get into this book but could not.

Deep, dark and mysterious. You just never see what’s waiting at the next turn. I found this story to be quite a page turner as I was straining to forgive out what was going to happen next. Highly recommend.

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review
Kate alice marshall is hands fown one of my favorite authors i absolutely love her young adult horror novels so when ive read shes been releasing adult thrillers i couldnt help myself to request every single one. And just like her toung adult novels i lived this just as much. It had me on the esge of my seat. This book was exciting and engaging. The characters were developed and relateable.

*received for free from netgalley for honest review* This was such a creepy read, yet another one id love to see as a movie! netflix and other streaming services are making so many books into movies whenever i read a good one i cross my fingers it will make it to the tv screen!

The story about girl who saw her parents to die. She never told to anybody, not even she game a prime suspect. The storyline was infesting..

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! No spoilers. Beyond amazing I enjoyed this book so very much. The characters and storyline were fantastic. The ending I did not see coming Could not put down nor did I want to. Truly Amazing and appreciated the whole story. This is going to be a must read for many many readers. Maybe even a book club pick.

This book felt like it went on forever, and not in a good way. While the concept had potential, the pacing was painfully slow, with long stretches of unnecessary detail and meandering subplots that didn’t add much to the story. The characters, though initially intriguing, didn’t evolve enough to keep my interest through the endless pages. By the midpoint, I found myself skimming sections, hoping for something to rekindle my enthusiasm, but it never quite delivered. It’s the kind of book that feels more like a chore than an escape, leaving me relieved rather than satisfied when I finally turned the last page.

No One Can Know by Kate Alice Marshall, was an absolutely gripping read from start to finish. The novel masterfully intertwines family secrets, suspense, and the complexities of sisterhood, keeping me on the edge of my seat throughout.
The story centers on Emma, who, after discovering she’s pregnant and facing financial difficulties, returns to her childhood home—the site of her parents’ unsolved murders 14 years prior. This return forces her to confront not only the haunting memories of that night but also her estranged sisters, Juliette and Daphne. As the narrative unfolds, long-buried secrets emerge, and the tension between the sisters adds depth to the mystery.
Marshall’s writing is both evocative and engaging, seamlessly shifting between past and present to reveal the intricate dynamics of the Palmer family. The characters are well-developed, each with their own flaws and motivations, making them relatable and compelling. The plot is meticulously crafted, with twists and turns that kept me guessing until the very end.
What I particularly appreciated was how the novel delves into the psychological impact of trauma and the lengths to which individuals will go to protect their loved ones. The themes of trust, betrayal, and the search for truth are explored in a way that resonates deeply.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for a digital ALC in exchange for an honest review.

This is my third Kate Alice Marshall book, and even though I didn’t like it as much as A Killing Cold and What Lies in the Woods, I still enjoyed it. It was a quick listen (which I’m loving right now as I try to cram in as many books as possible before the end of 2024).
Although the story gave me the messy family/town drama that I love, it did drag for me a bit towards the middle, and the twists at the end didn’t hit like I wanted them to.
The audiobook was great, though. I’ll listen to anything narrated by Karissa Vacker!
Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the audiobook in exchange for my honest review.
Rating: 3/5 ⭐️

The beginning and the end kept me going, but I lost steam in the middle and just wanted to find out who did it. This book was for sure a slow burn of a thriller but I did really
Enjoy it!

This author write good books but they don’t wow me. I have enjoyed her narrator(s) a lot so great job on the quality there. I will definitely be watching for new releases to hopefully find one that wows me a bit more in the future.

I’d best describe NO ONE CAN KNOW by Kate Alice Marshall as a slow-burning murder mystery mixed with some family drama and secrets. If you love to read about sisterhood and complex familial relationships, then this is just the book for you. Three sisters return to the house they grew up in fourteen years after their parents were murdered there. Sounds pretty gruesome, right? The case was never solved and the finger was even pointed at one of the sisters. Now the truth is about to come out, and my gosh is it ever complicated. I was really digging this one until it was time to wrap things up. Once again, the conclusion of a thriller has let me down. It was just too elaborate. There were WAY too many unnecessary details and it would’ve been much more satisfying (and less confusing) with a simpler ending. Other than that, it was still a twisty, suspenseful, and chilling whodunnit. I really enjoyed the author’s previous novel, WHAT LIES IN THE WOODS, and I just heard that she has a new one coming out in February called A KILLING COLD. I am 100% here for it. So because of the weak ending, I think 3.5/5 stars is fair for NO ONE CAN KNOW!

This story just didn't feel believable to me and read like a lot of other thrillers out there, it just didn't grab my attention like I wanted it to. I absolutely hated Emma's husband Nathan and it really bothered me how Emma was blamed for everything and how she was treated. The fact that all of this could have easily been avoided if secrets were revealed. I think a lot of people will love this book, but it just wasn't for me.

First of all, LOVED the narrator, as usual. This book was one that I truly enjoyed listening to, solely based on what the narrator sounded like. It is always a pleasure to listen to her books.
Now the actual book was fairly hit or miss, for me. I found the dynamics of the characters to be weird, and the plot to be too similar to other books that I have read, and fairly forgettable. I'm writing this a few days after finishing it, and I'm really having to look back to remember actually what had happened. There were no huge twists in it, besides a cheating scandal that didn't really have the impact that it should. The twists and turns from the murder mystery just didn't hit home for me, and I felt like the ending was too ambiguous to make the book complete. The characters were okay, but not super likeable. Overall, although I've liked books by the author in the past, this one wasn't my favorite.
Thank you to the author, publisher and Net Galley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The four Palmer sisters lost their parents to a gruesome murder fourteen years ago, and they left behind the house where the awful incident took place soon after. However, when Emma Palmer encounters financial strain, she’s forced to move back into their family home and confront the secrets that have been held for so long about that horrible night.
I thought I would love this one, but unfortunately I just couldn’t get into it. It may have been because there were too many loose ends and story lines with the four sisters, but I have a friend who buddy-read this one with me and she liked the unique story lines from each of the Palmers.
3/5 stars for me. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher.

This was an enjoyable listen and is one that I recommend. I look forward to more novels by this author.

Family dysfunction and murder... the perfect combination! Emma, Daphney, and Juliette, teenage sisters growing up under the control of their wealthy and powerful father. Their mother, a passive observer, and almost accomplice does nothing to protect them from their father's violence. When both parents are murdered one evening, the police suspect Emma but aren't able to prove it. Fourteen years later, Emma and her husband Narhan have returned to the house to pack everything up and sell it all. The sisters have been estranged since the murders but hearing that Emma has returned, they find themselves also drawn back to the scene of the crime. This leads to secrets being uncovered to find out what really happened that night.
The haunting atmosphere and building suspense kept me locked into this mystery It had that dark, small town vibe that felt claustrophobic. There were many suspects, all with motive, which made it difficult to guess who the murderer was. However, with that said, the ending wasn't as impactful as I hoped for as the reveal didn't make sense to me logically. Being a very logical reader, I'm able to let some plot gaps go but sadly there were a number of them in this story, which decreaed it's authenticity. I also found the jumping around between sisters and timelines a bit discombobulating on the audio. A more methodical approach to the switch in perpectives and time would've made it easier to follow and less jarring. I appreciated the generous amount of foreshadowing and the writing style pulled me in.
The audio narrator was one of my favorites. I loved her animated performance and many voices. She brought me into the story as though I was watching a movie.
Overall, the audiobook was a definite win. And I think readers looking for a suspenseful mystery thriller will not be disappointed in this one.

#NoOneCanKnow

When you get married, you expect that you know at least the the important highlights of your spouse's life. This is a story of worst case scenario. Imagine being in the dark and then find yourself in the middle of the culmination of a lifetime of secrets. This one definitely makes a person think.

This drug on and on and it wasn't really enjoyable. Seemed there was a lot going on but going no where for no reason.

Emma returns to uncover what really happened the night her parents were murdered. Only Emma and her sisters were at home when it happened, and they promised to stick together. Over time, this loyalty created distance between them. Now that Emma is back, old secrets start to come out. The story unfolds slowly, but the characters and their mysteries kept me hooked. With complicated sister dynamics and a gripping double murder, it’s a fantastic listen
