Emma, Juliette, and Daphne have never spoken about the night when their parents were murdered. Since that night they have drifted apart....
When Emma tells her husband that she is pregnant, he has some news for her as well. He has lost his job; they have no money, and their apartment has been sold. With nowhere to go, Emma tells him about her family home which she owns with her sisters. They move into Emma's childhood home and the past comes knocking. Everyone assumed that Emma killed her parents, but with everyone pointing their fingers at her, will the killer ever be found?
This was a gripping tale about family secrets, relationships, family, and murder. This book kept me on my toes and trying to figure out whodunit. There was a nice number of twists and turns which had me guessing and second guessing the identity of the killer. There is also a shocking reveal which I did not see coming!
I listened to the audiobook and thought the narrator did a terrific job.
Gripping, twist filled and shocking.

Emma, Juliette/JJ & Daphne's parents were murdered in their home 14 years ago and the house has been sitting vacant since. The sisters are estranged and the case was never solved. Some of the small town folks think Emma did it, but Emma and husband, Nathan, have fallen on hard times and decide to live there since it's free.
None of the characters were particularly likable in either the present or the past. I figured Nathan was going to be exactly who he was and frankly I'm tired of these husbands and their crap.
Overall, it was pretty predictable with a run of the mill plot. I suppose I liked it well enough, but I was bugged by when in the then timeline things were said like; on a Saturday afternoon less than 12 hours before their parents will be shot to death..., 2 months more of less before she..., 9 hours before she tells the 911 operator her parents are dead. You get my drift. This would be fine if they were having flashbacks, but the story seems to be told as they are living it in the then, so I don't like it. Now I'm wondering if it was written as a sort of heading in the actual book? Please someone confirm that has read it. I suppose if so then that would be fine~ish. BTW ~ this didn't affect my review, just pointing it out.
Narration notes:
A wonderful job done as usual. There was a slight, yet noticeable, distinction between the sisters voices.
This was the book that never ends, it goes on and on my friend…..
No One Can Know follows sisters Emma, Juliette , and Daphne. Their parents were murdered 14 years ago and who did it still remains unknown with Emma being the person in interest. Emma returns to the house the murders occurred and the past is dug up. This book takes family secrets to a whole new level and proves the bond of sisters is stronger than ever, right??
This book was a very very slow burn that really dragged. The end did reveal a few twists but it was really underwhelming for me. What Lies in the Woods was a DNF for me so this just may not be the author for me.
I did love the narrator of this audiobook and found her very clear and engaging.
Thank you to NetGalley, Flatiron Books, and Late Alice Marshall for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
It’s been fourteen years since Emma, Juliette, and Daphne’s parents were brutally murdered in their home. The sisters have been estranged ever since. Newly pregnant and with no other options Emma goes back to the family home, but the town hasn't forgotten that the murders remain unsolved, and she was the primary suspect.
Karissa Vacker was superb on the audiobook narration. It definitely kept me guessing as I suspected pretty much everyone at some point. There were some parts that felt redundant, and the middle of the story lost a little steam for me. 3.5 stars rounded up. Will continue to pick up Kate Alice Marshall books in the future.
No One Can Know is a thriller/mystery full of twists and turns. A whodunnit where no one can be trusted, I was kept wondering who killed the parents and what was everyone’s true motives. A great, quick listen or read!
I was so excited when I started this book. The storyline intrigued me. The beginning definitely sucked me in. Her parents and husband worked my nerves also. It had me hooked to see what happened.
As the book went on, though, I felt like it was just too much. Ever chapter ending in some kind of twist. There is so much happening after lagging for a while in the middle. It kinda made my head spin with the back and forth. I can totally see what the author was trying to do, but again, I just felt like it was too much, and the story could have been cut down some.
The audio was well done and totally hit the vibe of the book.
Thank you MacMillan Audio for sending me this ALC to give my honest review.
4+ stars
This was a twisty and compelling thriller that kept me guessing until the end. The reveals were unexpected but seemed well-planned. Although I wouldn’t say I liked this book as much as the author’s last novel, I still quite enjoyed it and look forward to seeing what she creates next.
Oh my, this book is so very dark and twisty, there’s no way I could have guessed all the things that were going to happen!
Three sisters who have mysteriously not kept in contact over the years need to move back into their childhood home, which their parents were killed in years ago. The case was never solved, but the story slowly unfolds as it flashes back between present day and the time of their murder as well as perspectives from each of the 3 sisters.
The only thing that bothered me is that the characters weren’t very likeable.. is this important in a thriller? I find that if they are interesting characters, I enjoy trying to figure out how they came to be this way and can overlook and sometimes even revel in their deviousness, but it really depends on the book. And this story did have great spooky vibes. I was constantly questioning everyone and everything I thought I knew, which made for a wild ride.
Karissa Vacker has a wonderful voice for narrating thrillers, you can just hear the fear and vulnerability in each of the women's voices. Honestly I'd give a chance to any thriller she narrates!
Wow! The twists & turns as you navigate the mysterious murder of the parents of three young girls. Alternating timeline of then & now & from each sisters prospective. They haven’t been in each others lives since the murder and now they are back together to get closure.
This is a true psychological thriller… check your trigger warnings before starting. You are drawn in immediately and it keeps a hold of you until the end. You think you know and at the end you’re still wondering if it’s all what it seems.
Great narrator!
Thanks to Netgalley for allowing me to listen to the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
So sad this one was a dud for me. This story is about 3 sisters who’ find their parents dead.
The story was so slow and often repetitive, as versions of the same night are repeated by several character’s point of view. I found all the characters in the book unlikable as well.

NO ONE CAN KNOW is a suspenseful ride that had me on the edge of my seat, questioning trust with every twist. While captivating, some confusing plot points made it challenging to follow. The ending lacked the anticipated shock IMO, but overall, it’s an easy & binge-worthy read! Although not as gripping as WHAT LIES IN THE WOODS, it's still a recommendable journey for thriller enthusiasts.

Forced to move back into the family estate where their parents were killed, three sisters are forced to reunite and grapple with what really happened that night. This book started out with a bang, but I feel like it lost its momentum as I followed along. I was really looking forward to it, but I will say this one is probably better in print. I had a hard time with the MC's narration. She often came across too whiny and rather annoying. Thank you to NetGalley, Macmillan Audio and the author for the ALC in exchange for my honest opinion.
This book was so twisty! I love a good twisty story, and this was it!! I loved What Lies in the Woods, so I was so excited about this one! I just wanted to hug all of the sisters because of everything they had been through. The character development or character slide, in one's case, was impressively written throughout the story. Such a great read. 4.5 stars because I was confused at one point, but rounding it up to a 5!
The Palmer sisters are holding secrets. All three sisters have things to hide, and pieces of the puzzle to share. This is a drama filled novel that will have you guessing right to the end.
I didn’t fall in love with the characters, but I certainly understood them better as the story developed. The plot at times was overdone for me but I did enjoy it overall. Karissa Vacker delivered a flawless performance.
This audiobook was a delightful experience! I appreciated the narrative's perspective shifts and the seamless transitions between the past and present. The presence of a character I did not like added intrigue, making the satisfying ending all the more enjoyable. The suspense surrounding the parents' murder kept me guessing, and the well-crafted plot kept me eagerly anticipating each new development. Overall, a skillfully written story that kept me engaged throughout.
Thank you to Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for providing me with an ARC. Emma and her husband find themselves in dire straits when he loses his job and the bills continue to pile up. To make things even more stressful, Emma finds out that she is pregnant. The only option left is for them to return to Emma's childhood home that she owns with her 2 sisters and hope that they will agree to sell the home. Suddenly, Emma is going to have to share the secrets of her past with her husband as they make the move to the family home where both of her parents were murdered. Will the past repeat itself and will the town residents welcome Emma back with open arms? This was a good read and I really enjoyed it, the pace was good and the story line kept me wanting to read on to see how all of this would end. Enjoy!!!

One of the best books I've read in a long while!!
Thanks Macmillan Audio for the free audiobook to review. This was a quick read that kept me interested as I listened but it doesn’t particularly stand out and I think it will quickly be forgotten.
When Emma was a teenager, her parents were murdered. She and her two sisters said they were sleeping in the treehouse and didn’t hear anything. Suspicion was on Emma in the town but there was never enough evidence to convict her. She left town and didn’t look back - but now she has to return. It will bring up all the questions from the past and force Emma to confront what really happened.

No One Can Know by Alice Marshall follows the lives of three sisters, Emma, JJ, and Daphne. When the girls were young, their parents were murdered, and their case went cold; however, everyone suspects that the girls always knew more than what they lead on. No One Can Know flashes back from the present to the time of the incident, and switches between the three sisters point of views. It’s a gripping story that has you questioning everyone’s truths throughout the book. Everyone becomes a suspect in this who done it tale. In the end the truth comes out… or does it?
I received the audiobook version of No One Can Know narrated by Karissa Vacker. This audiobook gave great insight to the girls’ feelings and states of mind through the many voices of Karissa Vacker.

If you like being in the dark, this thriller is for you. The entire time I had no clue if I could trust these sisters, or if they were leading me astray as much as they were themselves and others.
Marshall has assembled a mystery that keeps you guessing, until she’s ready for you to know what truly happened... and even then you’re still suspicious you didn’t get the full story.
𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: This was a duel timeline, which I usually struggle with when listening to audiobooks - it’s always been hard with me keeping track of timelines without visual reference, but this time was different. Karissa Vacker did an excellent job shifting the tone of her voice to separate past and present.
𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: I loved the dynamics between the characters, but I felt the reveals were too clumped together - I wish I’d had more to work with throughout the novel. Nonetheless, it was was still a compulsively quick and entertaining read.
