I found myself listening to the No One Can Know audiobook late into the night, knowing I’d have a hard time due to lack of sleep the next day. Few books have the power to keep me up that late during the work week, but this one did! I just had to finish it and find out what really happened. There were some gasp-worthy moments with twists I didn’t see coming that kept me wanting more! The icing on the book cake is that it was narrated by one of my favorite audiobook narrators, Karissa Vecker. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to listen to this audiobook. The story along with Karissa’s narration really made it spectacular.

As My first Audiobook ARC I was thrilled to get this book. It was such a good addiciting story and the Narrator did an amazing job at bringing it to life and keeping me interested in the story. The story as a whole was great the different Timelines was great and easy to follow and the twist was unexpected.

I was ready to give this book a 4/5 with the way it caught my attention at the beginning. It sucked me right in. But it left me feeling a little disappointed. I kept waiting for the spice, the jaw dropping moment, but I couldn’t find it.

3.5 stars. Emma never told anyone what happened the night her parents were killed. Neither did her sisters, Daphne and Juliette. But years after the murders, Emma and her husband, Nathan, d=find themselves in a precarious financial position and Emma is pregnant. Having no other options, Emma returns home to Arden Hills, to the home where her parents were murdered. But Arden Hills has a long memory and many people still think Emma is to blame for their deaths. This is the story of the secrets between sisters and the ties that bind.
*Special thanks to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for this audio e-arc.*

This was gifted by the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
This is the second book that I’ve read from this author. I enjoyed the last book so I had high expectations going into this one. we are following the story of three estranged sisters coming back to their childhood home. they’ve drifted apart over the years as when they were younger their parents were murdered, and one of them was aimed for the murders. However, when you get into it, all of the sisters had motive to kill them, so who actually killed their parents?
Th author does female friendships and relationships really well and those tend to be the parts of the story that I enjoy the most. The mystery was predictable, but overall I still had a good time. I would recommend this book!

Thanks to Macmillan Audio for granting me access to this audiobook!
When Emma is in a tough situation, her husband suggests they move in her parents’ home, where they were murdered years ago. The goal is for them to go there and renovate to house while they are getting back on their feet. As soon as they arrive in Emma’s childhood home, elements from her past come back to the surface, having her question everything that happened before and after her parents’ death. Emma has two sisters with whom she has had no contact with in more than 10 years. Her sisters and their secrets are also brought forth in Emma’s search for the truth about what really happened to her family, and who is truly responsible for her parents’ passing.
Good novel about the complicated relationships that can be found in certain families and wanting to protect your loved ones. Some parts of the story were longer, I found myself not really paying attention to chapters talking about Emma’s relationship with her husband because it seemed repetitive (how they don’t really get along, how he is a bit controlling, etc). I get why some chapters about their relationship were important, but it still seemed a bit too detailed and redundant at times. Still an entertaining read overall!

This is a book of three young women who have secrets and it also has some child abuse in it as a trigger warning it was a good mystery and Thriller and you'll never guess who did the Deeds it kept me in listening the whole time and it was well organized I would recommend the book for people that like this type book

Thanks to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for an advanced reader copy of this audiobook in exchange for my honest review. No One Can Know chronicles the lives of Emma and her two sisters, the murders of their parents, and Emma's return to her hometown (and the scene of the murders, her childhood home) in the wake of her husband's unemployment and her unexpected pregnancy. Kate Alice Marshall weaves an intricate mystery, and throughout the book, I was left guessing as to the identify of the murderer. However, while the beginning and ending were particularly compelling, I became bored by the middle of the book, as multiple characters, perspectives, reveals, and time jumps made for a non-linear and somewhat overwhelming listening experience.
Karissa Vacker did a fine job as the narrator, but I think I would have enjoyed this story more in print - rather than audio - form.

3.5 stars. Emma returns to her childhood home when she and her husband run out of other options. The thing is, Emma's parents no longer live in the home, because it's where they were murdered when Emma and her two sisters were children. The girls have never spoken about what happened that night, but suspicion runs deep all around, and when someone else turns up dead on the property, Emma is starting to fear she's made a terrible mistake by returning.
I was hooked into this story pretty much from the first page, and it held my interest throughout the book. I will say, there were so many twists at the end that I got a little turned around and had to go back once or twice, but overall I enjoyed the ride and the various reveals. It's a pretty short read, so if you're looking for a thriller you can binge in a day, this is definitely an option for you!
Thank you to Kate Alice Marshall, Flatiron Books, Macmillan Audio, and NetGalley for my advance audio copy.

Where do I start with this one?! Thriller is not typically my genre of choice, but with cozy season settling in, I find myself reaching for it more and more. @NetGalley sent me the early audio of this one and it did not disappoint. It was thriller and mystery and so many messy things all wrapped up in a pretty stepford bow.
Told from the perspective of three sisters in dual timelines, we are trudged through the mystery of their parents death and the aftermath of what their decisions after have rippled into. After their parents murder, the sisters were separated and any relationship they had was severed. Emma, the now steadfast and borderline unfeeling middle child, was once the rebellious and testing sister. Juliette, the oldest, was once the perfect piano playing daughter but time and the weight of secrets have morphed her into a very different person than the one her sisters knew 14 years ago. And Daphne, the youngest and most misunderstood, has moved on by stepping from one persona to another, never getting too attached to anything other than keeping the secrets that have held her together.
When Emma’s life starts to unravel, she is brought back to the family estate and things continue to unravel even further. Secrets are revealed, past events rush back to memory and relationships are tested. As each secret is pieced together, more of the story starts to make sense and the once strained relationship between these sisters starts to heal.
I enjoyed this story so much more than I anticipated. Each secret kept was justified and steeped in reasoning. The motive for each character was warranted. I had a feeling about who did it and was surprised to be proven wrong at the very end. I love when a book can surprise me and this one did just that.

No One Can Know is a wild read!
Messed up family dynamics, lies, secrets, deceit, small-town bias, and murder fill the pages. Every time I thought I had it figured out, something new was revealed that knocked me sideways.
The characters aren’t super likable, but they’re definitely interesting. I wanted to slap sense into Emma, and I wanted to see her husband fall into a pit of hungry spiders.
Karissa Vacker narrates the audiobook and, as always, she nailed every nuance. I highly recommend the audio experience.
*Thanks to Macmillan Audio for the free download!*

I really liked her other books so I was super excited to give this one a listen. It was a decent fast paced thriller. Not my favorite but still fine. Ending kept you guessing but I wasn’t as invested as I was in her last book.

No One Can Know
by Kate Alice Marshall
Narrated by Karissa Vacker
Publication 23 Jan 2024 by Macmillan Audio
First off, I adore Kate Alice Marshall. She delivers a tense thriller every single time. But the cherry on top of this? Karissa Vacker as a narrator. Karissa Vacker is my absolutely favourite narrator! She is amazing. I am really picky when it comes to female narrators and Karissa delivers every single time!
Three sisters. The murder of their parents.
In present time, Emma has not told her husband a lot about her past, just that her parents were murdered, she doesn’t talk to her sisters anymore and the folks at the village think she is guilty.
Her perfect life collapses, her husband lost his jobs, she found out she’s pregnant and on top, they might end up homeless. So they move back to the house their parents left the sisters.
Now that one sister has returned, more are bound to follow. Which secrets will be revealed?
The book left me with mixed emotions. A bit disappointed because one of my favourite authors did not deliver the quality I am used to… and I am really not saying this is bad, it’s just not up to par with her other works.
I think Karissa Vacker was the saving grace for me here. The book is very slow paced and if I would t have enjoyed the narration as much as I did, I think I might have skipped ahead, especially the middle part fell a bit flat.
Unfortunately this book cannot hold up to “What Lies in the Woods”, but it was not bad at all. It was different, the pacing was different and also the feel of the whole story. The narration saved this for me big times and that’s why I’ll happily give it four stars.
Thank you NetGalley, Macmillan Audio and Kate Alice Marshall for this free ALC. I was under no obligation to review, all opinions are my own.

What Lies In The Woods by Kate Alice Marshall was one of my favorite books of last year. Because of that, I was so excited when I received this book. I actually stopped reading a book I was halfway through because I just wanted to start this book. Unfortunately, I was left feeling underwhelmed.
The first half of this story I was trying to convince myself I loved it, but deep down I knew it wasn’t going to be as good as What Lies in the Woods for me. The story moved slowly and when it did pick up the highs were just not that high and the twists were just big enough.
The story follows three sisters who share secrets from their past that involved the murder of their parents. As an adult, they have lost touch but are forced to start talking again once Emma falls on hard times financially and moves back into her childhood home. We get multiple POVs which I normally love but my problem here was I wouldn't say I liked all of the characters. I didn’t have anyone I was rooting for which led to me not caring about where any of the characters ended up.
When you make it to the end you have multiple twists but none of them really shocked me. To go back to What Lies in the Woods, I audibly gasped multiple times for the twists there, so I was expecting more of that.
My excitement for this book is what led to my disappointment. I recommend this book but if you are a fan of What Lies in the Woods just try to go in expecting something different.

This was an interesting read. I can see why some would call it a slow burn, but I enjoyed it. The narrative was descriptive but not too wordy. Just enough suspense to keep the pages turning.
Three sisters find their way back in to each other's lives after many years apart. The tragedy of their parent's murder many years ago raises new questions and brings all the skeletons out of the closet.
Karissa Vacker does a great job narrating this story. Her voice is clear, concise and easy to listen to. I enjoyed all the characters voices and didn't mind when she switched tones to a male voice.

Emma comes back to the house her parents were murdered in still holding so many secrets. Now, she must face the town that still thinks she's a murderer while trying to hold her marriage together.
Wow. I adored this book so much. This was my first thriller audiobook and I couldn't be happier. The narrator was just amazing. I was able to tell all of the characters apart so easily just by the different inflections she added to the voices. And when the action got intense, which it did a lot, she would speed up and really get my heart pounding.
The story itself is well paced and well thought out. I really liked who the chapters would go back and forth from past to present with all of the sisters, really digging deep into their individual stories and pasts. This was such a good thriller that kept me guessing the entire time.
Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the gifted copy. My reviews are always honest.

I purchased this book through my BOTM and I was struggling to latch on. After hearing one of my favorite narrators did the audiobook for this, I instantly requested through NetGalley. I am so glad I did, because it really improved my reading experience for this particular book.
Kate Alice Marshall is a fantastic author, but this one unfortunately fell a little flat. Due of the predictability and being able to foreshadow all of the events in the beginning, I struggled to love this one.

No One Can Know is a twisty and suspenseful thriller by the author of What Lies in the Woods. In this novel, three sisters try to piece together their past to discover who murdered their parents twenty years ago. All three sisters want to know the truth but they also have their own secrets to hide.
I loved What Lies in the Woods so I immediately requested No One Can Know when I saw it on Netgalley. This book did not disappoint! The plot is fast paced, the characters are interesting and complicated and the twists are unexpected!
The audiobook is narrated by Karissa Vacker. Her voice was made for the twenty-thirty something unreliable narrator with a traumatic past. She does an excellent job of bringing this story to life!

I'm a fan of Marshall's work so I was so glad to get a hold of this one! When a book makes you feel something for the characters, you know you're hooked. I wanted to reach into the pages and shake Emma! I had more than a few words for Nathan... Ugh. I sympathized with the sisters at different points in time, and would have loved to learn even more about each of them. Daphne especially. I gave this 4 stars and not 5 because I feel like the mystery was a bit drawn out in the middle. The start and end are better paced and kept my interest. Still worth the read!! I'll always keep an eye out for more from this author.
Thank you to NetGalley and publisher for this arc in exchange for an honest review.
