Twisty, murder mystery that kept me listening well into the night. The audiobook was highly entertaining and transported the listener right into the story as all the best books should. Highly recommend!!
Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for an early copy to listen to!

This was a wild and twisty ride. Emma's life is falling apart and circumstances force her to return her to her family home, the home that's been sitting empty since the night her parents were murdered and she and her sisters were split up... nobody knows what really happened that night not even the three sisters who backed up each other's alibis but never found out what the other ones were actually doing that fateful night and stayed out of each other's lives. Of course, there have been rumors and those rumors follow Emma and her husband whom she brings back with her. I enjoyed this thriller, there were plenty of twists and familial relationships especially the sisters relationships were right at the center. A shared trauma impacted them but the outcomes were quite different - the dual past and present timeline brought that to light even more acutely.
The audio narration by Karissa Vacker was so well done.

3.5 stars. THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS:
I liked this book but I can guarantee I won't remember it for very long because it was kind of chaotic. The book is about Emma and her husband Nathan. They're coming on hard times financially so they decide to move in to Emma's parents house. She shares the house with her 2 estranged sisters because her parents were murdered years ago and Emma was the main suspect (though she was never charged). She hasn't really told her husband about it so he's a little surprised when they get there and the town reacts to her presence. Her sisters decide to come back too and a lot of things are brought up. The book is told in then/now chapters where we get to see what happened around the time of the murders as well as currently what's going on. Old "friends" are coming back (the detective, boyfriends, etc.) and this unresolved crime gets a little more messy. Nathan is pretty quickly found dead when they move in and Emma's thoughts on being an anxiety sufferer were SO relatable. She said something about how you often spiral into thinking about your worst fears when something little happens (someone doesn't come home on time, answer their phone, etc.) but then when bad things actually DO happen, you're no more prepared. You've imagined it so many times its hard for your brain to comprehend that this time its real and not just another spiral. I can definitely relate to that. Anywho, Nate dies and she's the one who is there and discovers the body, but shes hesitant to call the police because she knows they will try to blame her. Long story short, everyone has a motive. The detective is shady and owns the gun that killed all the people. The mom committed suicide. None of the sisters really remember what they were doing that night. The ending feels ambiguous because everyone thinks they did it, but we dont' really get clear answers (or at least I didnt understand). It was chaotic and confusing and I didn't love the ending.

Okay this one wasn't it for me sadly. This was a psychological domestic/family thriller where three sisters were forced to return to their hometown and the house their parents suffered a murder/suicide, it's time to figure out what really happened that night. This was truly a situation of I could not stand any of the characters thus could not bring myself to be invested in any of them.
The premise of the book is that all three of them are lying about where they were that night and all three suspect each other/other people in the town. There are clues galore but they're also all unreliable narrators, which is my least favourite trope. Let me SOLVE the mystery, give me a fighting chance. This one just didn't!

This is one twisty, engaging thriller! I think the less you know going into this book the better. This book is dark and twisty. I love a book where everyone becomes a suspect. Every time I thought I knew what was going on, the author threw me another curveball. I loved the inclusion of dual POVs and alternating timelines.
I definitely recommend this thriller if you like family drama and lots of twists. I also recommend listening to the audiobook! The narrator did a great job!

A great start and an interesting set up for this novel. Unfortunately, the audio ARC would not play past chapter 4 so I cannot speak on the book as a whole. It definitely pulled me in enough that I plan to seek this out after publication to finish!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

Quick summary: Emma didn't want to go back home to the house where her parents died - but her finances give her no choice. The town thinks she did it - but the truth is even more twisted.
I loved Kate Alice Marshall's last book (also narrated by Karissa Vacker), and this one met my high expectations! There were plenty of small twists to keep me hooked, and I loved that the last big twist totally knocked my socks off. I listened to this one in one day, and I think that says it all. I think audio is the way to go if you're on the fence between reading methods.
Thank you to Macmillan Audio for providing an ALC in exchange for an honest review.

This was an okay read. I found the plot very predictable and the characters were so unlikable. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. Average read.
Thank you to NetGalley and Flatiron Books for the E-ARC. And to Macmillan Audio for the ALC
All thoughts and opinions are honest and my own.

No One Can Know starts with Emma, one of the three sisters our story follows. Emma is married and it is obvious she hasn’t told her husband much about her past or her parent’s death. Due to some unfortunate circumstances, Emma and her husband need to stay in her childhood home for a little while. She has to reach out to her sisters, whom she hasn’t talked to in years, and she has to come clean to her husband that it’s not just that her parents died, but they were murdered in that home.
Emma’s return home opens up old wounds with her sisters and secrets are uncovered. Things go from bad to worse when someone else ends up dead.
This is my second read by Kate Alice Marshall. I have not read any of her YA, but Marshall is quickly becoming an auto buy author for me. I really enjoyed this mystery and highly recommend the audiobook.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for access to an early recording of this audiobook.
As always, all opinions are my own.

"No One Can Know" by Kate Alice Marshall is a gripping thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The intricate plot, filled with unexpected twists and turns, had me guessing until the very end. The characters were well-developed and relatable, making it easy to become emotionally invested in their journey. Marshall's writing style is captivating, drawing the reader in with vivid descriptions and suspenseful pacing. Overall, "No One Can Know" is a must-read for any fan of the genre, delivering suspense and excitement in equal measure.

Three sisters, two dead parents, unlimited secrets. No one knows the truth...or do they? When Emma and her husband move back to her childhood home and scene of her parents horrific murders because of financial reasons her husband quickly realizes that her hesitation has more to do than just the crime scene. The entire town thinks Emma is the murderer. Even Emma has no real memories of what really happened that night. She quickly learns that her presence has stirred up more memories than are safe for her or her family. This book is a slow burn, but it kept me interested and did not disappoint in the end. Enjoyable narration with a good pace.

No One Can Know was amazing. I loved the author’s book What Lies In the Woods. Karissa. Vacker is a top notch narrator. If you’re an audiobook fan, I would highly recommend listening to this one.

I have been a big fan of Marshall’s books for a while now and this one definitely continues that trend. It was twisty, messy and I could not stop reading until I found out what was happening.
Thank you so much Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for my review copy!

There is a long, long setup to this novel. So much set up. So many mentions of secrets, "no one can know" and it just got tedious for me. Once the twists started happening, the book got more interesting, but I never really warmed to or connected with any of the characters. There are just too many twists at the end though, it gives the vibe that the author just couldn't figure out which direction to go so she threw in every possibility.

3.5 stars.
This book follows three estranged sisters after their parents' murder. Fourteen years have passed, and all three sisters have secrets from that fateful night. Emma returns to her childhood home, where the memories create questions and trials for her and her husband. Juliette, wondering why Emma would return, surprises Emma by showing up at her door. Daphne also returns to their hometown but keeps her presence a secret. With multiple POVs and time hops, the audio set up was perfect for easily following who and when each chapter focused on, and I appreciated that greatly. Which sister has the most to lose or the most to hide? What really happened the night their parents died? And will these women ever be free of their secrets.
This novel traveled back and forth between sisters and time periods to puzzle together what happened. Marshall created 3 very different women with different motivations and personalities all influenced by the home they grew up in together, the shocking deaths of their parents, and the subsequent trials each faced. I appreciated how these three threads were both greatly varied and intricately intertwined. As I listened to the audio version of this book, I made my guesses. Some were right; some were wrong, and I continuously second guessed myself, which made for an enjoyable ride.

My first Kate Alice Marshall thriller read and it did not disappoint. The unsolved deaths of their parents was told from the perspective of three sisters, past timeline and present; all of whom had their own secrets. Each one left town after the incident and one by one all three came back home. I was able to drum up some sympathy for Emma and Juliette but there wasn't anything in Daphne's character to draw me in. It was an intriguing audio read; narrated by Karissa Vacker who is slowly becoming one of my favorite narrators. She gave a different voice to each sister although there were times when it did becoming a bit confusing as to which sister was narrating. It did keep me guessing up until the very end! Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan audio!

This was my type of book! I love trying to figure out the "Who did it." I felt like I was constantly changing my mind, going back and forth between characters. I finally finished a book that didn't make me yawn because I 100% knew the ending ahead of time.
I was able to connect with the family loyalty, even not really knowing your siblings. That need to defend, protect and keep each other's secrets, I know that feeling.
I usually don't like the back and forth from time period and character, but I think it worked well for this story line.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publishing house, the narrator and the author for the opportunity to listen to a complimentary copy of this book in return for a review based upon my honest opinion.
Emma finds out her husband is out of a job and has lost the money they put down on a new home not long after she finds out she’s pregnant. They desperately need to find somewhere to live and he tells her they already have an option, her parents home that she and her sisters, Daphne and Juliette inherited and has been sitting empty for years. Emma thinks that is a terrible idea but there is no other option, so she reaches out to her sisters, to whom she is estranged to tell them that she and husband will be occupying the house. The reason Emma doesn’t want to move back, is that she hasn’t been home since her parents were brutally murdered and she was the lead suspect.
These sisters were good at keeping secrets, others and their own. They shared so much as girls but that one night, left them scattered and apart in more ways than one. Who really did kill their parents, was it one of the girls, or someone close to home? As Emma tries to piece together that night, will she be putting herself or others in danger or will she fund herself on the hook for murder again. Lots of twists and a great ending. I found myself frustrated now and then by the actions of some of the characters but overall I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to more books by this author. The narrator was great to listen to, she had a good voice and her cadence and pace was good.

I was a little behind on finishing this but that’s on me not the book. I really enjoyed it. At no point was I ever confident on who the killer actually was for sure. Kariss Vacker is an excellent narrator and really added to the story. Definitely would recommend this and KAMs other books.

Sisters, secrets, the past, the present and the truth, I can’t resist an interesting mystery. At times it was a bit slow but kept my interest right up to the end. The narration was done well.
