Wow!
I wasn’t expecting that twist at the end!
This book was definitely entertaining! It went by quickly and was a great love story. I am a sucker for the stories that start out when they are kids and begin to love each other as they get older.
This story had action, romance, spice & even a twist.
Definitely worth the read or listen.
When I read the bio to this book I was intrigued. But this book is nowhere near as good as 50 Shades of Grey. If I had to rate this book out of 10 stars I would give it 7, it kept my attention but I would not re read it. I felt like it was kind of slow and dragged out a bit.
Thank you Macmillan Audio, Lora Leigh, and Netgalley for the ARC.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this audio ARC.
I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. This is my first by this author but it will not be my last. I loved the storyline. I didn’t realize this was the 2nd book in a series but it didn’t feel like I missed much by not reading the first.
Jack and Poppy have always loved each other. As kids, Poppy looked out for Jack. Jack repaid her by protecting her for the rest of his life. She belongs to him and him alone. But when Jack’s career puts Poppy in the middle of his mission, Jack realizes protecting Poppy will be more complicated. Small towns where everyone knows Jack and has their own opinion about him and Poppy’s closeness will put a strain on the couple. Passion, action, romance, and suspense is ribboned throughout this book, leaving the reader trying to figure out if Poppy and Jack will make it out alive.
Lora Leigh does a fantastic job of telling Poppy and Jack’s story and explaining the peaks and valleys of their relationship. The spice is off the charts and done so creatively to make the reader feel like they’re in bed with the couple. Play Dirty is far from a typical dark romance.
Thanks to NetGalley for the arc audiobook!
I’ve always loved Lora Leigh’s books, this was no different! The storyline was great, had some twists along the way and kept things interesting. The spice was so good! Only downfalls were the narrator attempting the male voice was odd and the ending left me slightly confused. Overall a great book!
In this scintillating novel, the author masterfully crafts a tale that lingers in the mind, primarily for its sultry and sensuous scenes that ignite the pages. The portrayal of passion is vivid, creating an immersive experience for readers seeking a steamy and alluring narrative.
What sets this book apart is its seamless navigation between different time periods, creating a rich tapestry of events that span years. The evolution of the story, both in terms of plot and character development, adds layers of complexity that keep the reader eagerly turning the pages.
Within this narrative, the spectrum of events unfolds, encompassing both the positive and the challenging. The interplay of these elements contributes to the story's depth, making it a multifaceted exploration of desire, love, and the consequences of choices.
However, it's the exploration of reasons behind each twist and turn that truly elevates this work. The author skillfully peels back layers, revealing the motivations that drive the characters and shape the course of the narrative. This focus on the 'why' adds a thought-provoking dimension, prompting readers to reflect on the intricacies of human nature and the profound impact of decisions.
In essence, this book is more than just a collection of hot scenes and a chronicle of events—it's a journey into the complexities of passion, time, and the profound reasons that underpin our lives. A compelling read for those who appreciate a blend of steamy romance and a thoughtfully evolving storyline.

I ALWAYS view some reviews before deciding on a story to read.
I read a lot of thrillers – I am not a big romance fan but sometimes a nice sweet story and knowing something is going to get better; is always a treat to look forward to.
As soon as I started this I knew I made a mistake and really did not do my homework.
I don’t like nasty language so went back and viewed reviews as well as the blurb
Yikes- I have no idea how I missed this!
Fifty Shades of Grey meets hard-bodied ex-Navy SEALs in these red-hot, suspenseful friends-to-lovers, girl-next-door romance.
Then I read a review and saw ~ sizzling hot romance.
I did give it a try as I liked the narrator Brianna Bronte. She has a pleasant voice and I stayed with it longer than I thought. However, it didn’t work for me.
Want to thank NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for this early eGalley.
