We are absolutely in love with this story. We received an ARC copy as an audio, which is still new to us. We wanted the book to go along with it. This was a multicultural story and I feel it rings true in all cultures the importance of where we are from and what home means to us. As the little girl's mom tells her what it means to be homegrown I can’t help but reminisce myself. I love what it says about home being where traditions are made. LIke the loud game nights. It told us about home being where your loved ones, memories are made and life is learned. The narration for the story made us feel so calm and relaxed and was easy to follow along, even for my littler ones. Your family will want to share this touching story. It is a great story that all children, and some adults, really need to hear.
*as an added note we had to go and grab a copy to follow along with the narration. We love it. The illustrations add even more to the love and magic of this story. We have found our new favorite to read over and over again. Highly recommended

"Home is where traditions are made"- One of my favorite quotes from the book I love this book because it allowed me time to reminisce about my "home" upbringing and how times have changed now that I am an adult with my own children. It made me miss my "home" traditions when I was with my grandmother.
I love how the author explains what "homegrown" means and how it can be applied to anyone. I received the audiobook as an ARC and I loved how the narrator read the book.

I would recommend this book to everyone! It's amazing how it is explained what "home" is and how it is more than a building but more of traditions, family, and events.
