I always love Laura’s books, they never disappoint. Her books always blend romance and mystery into stories you can’t put done. Detective Nicole Lawson is all about the job, at the expense of life outside work. The latest case brings out her drive to succeed and maybe even to find that person meant for her.

The latest installment in the Texas Murder Files series sees an early murder staged to look like a suicide. The action in the book takes a turn as the team begins to investigate the homicide but realize they are behind before even getting started We get a lot of police procedure and frustration stemming from the fact that they did not realize it was a murder. Nicole and Emmet from their first scene together spark fires off each other. Their competitiveness, banter and friendship do not mask they palpable chemistry of this couple. I did get a little frustrated when Emmet tried to sideline Nicole. He may have been doing it because he cared but to a woman that kind of move makes a woman feel like she is being treated different than men.
The book title “Liar’s Point” is a nice play on the lighthouse name and hints that everything you believe about this case is a lie. The action is a little light in the first half of the book but the entire story picks up with Nicole’s injury. In fact, her injury changes the complexion of the second half of the story for both the case and the relationships. We finally learn and I will not give too much away what might be behind the murders and other trouble in the town. The revelation sets up the couple for the next story which should be interesting.
I mostly enjoyed the book but thought it might have been a little too long. As I said above, the second half of the book was more action packed than the first but overall worth reading.
Thanks to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Fairly predictable mystery, but it was still a good read that I enjoyed. I only thought it was predictable because I solved the mystery before the characters did.

I was super excited to get this book on here, but to be honest, it was just a little too predictable for my taste.

Another win by Laura! I was looking forward to Nicole's story and the chemistry between her and Emmett was wonderful. I loved how they challenged each other, and supported each other and told each other the truth. The mystery component was entertaining and well plotted, too!

LIAR’S POINT is part of the Texas Murder Files series by Laura Griffiin. While not up to the quality of her Tracers series; it’s still miles above the Alpha Crew series. While still enjoyable enough reads, the quality of her work as a whole has slipped a bit over the years. That saying, I liked Nicole and Emmet well enough, and it was nice to be back on the island and in Lost Beach. Good mystery, good characters, nice romance. Liked it well enough to keep reading the series.

Griffin's expert storytelling draws readers into a web of lies, intrigue, and unexpected connections.
The chemistry between Nicole and her rival-turned-partner, Detective Emmet Davis, adds a layer of tension and passion to the narrative. As they delve into the deaths of two yoga instructors, the plot unfolds with gripping suspense, keeping me on the edge of my seat. Griffin's skillful blend of engaging characters and a well-crafted mystery makes "Liar's Point" a standout in romantic suspense.
I devoured this book in one sitting, captivated by the seamless integration of romance and suspense. The characters are compelling, and the storyline is both engaging and unpredictable.
Laura Griffin continues to deliver a winning combination of thrilling mysteries and sizzling romance, making "Liar's Point" a must-read for fans of the genre.

Having recently experienced a thrilling detective story, I found myself torn between the fast-paced excitement and the challenge of embracing its intricate background. The narrative took unexpected turns that kept me hooked, yet the unconventional details made it tough to detach my feelings.

The complexity of the story's backdrop proved overwhelming, demanding a significant emotional investment. At times, it was a struggle to navigate the craziness and fully immerse myself in the plot. While the intensity was commendable, I couldn't wholeheartedly stand behind every element.

Despite my reservations, the author skillfully crafted a gripping tale with well-developed characters and a consistent suspenseful atmosphere. The mixed emotions I experienced throughout the journey make it a memorable, albeit challenging, read.

The fifth installment in the Texas Murder Files series, Liar’s Point follows Detective Nicole Lawson as she seeks to discover the connection between the mysterious deaths of two local yoga instructors and as long-simmering feelings for fellow detective Emmet Davis finally come to a boil. This was a fantastic read, with Griffin’s signature blend of engrossing characters, sparkling chemistry, and heart-pounding suspense. Always one of my top recommendations for romantic suspense, I’m eagerly awaiting the next book in the series. 5 stars/5.

I love Laura Griffin books and this is no exception. . Detective Nicole Lawson must investigate a murder while becoming a target herself. She has to work with Emmet Davis and the sparks fly between them. A great mystery and romance. I hope this isn’t the last book in the Texas Murder Files.
