This book was very popular when testing it out with my toddler. It was immediately a favourite, and the illustrations were super cute. Would definitely recommend for any little kids who love all things construction!
This is a real construction cutie. In this imaginative picture book, Luke discovers his very own bulldozer waiting for him in his front yard. Soon he finds that all his friends have construction equipment too. Ashley Wall has created an adorable adventure reflecting any little construction fan's imagination. Vaughn Duck's bright colorful pictures are perfect for toddlers and preschoolers. Little kid will love reading about Luke's busy day.
This was so cute to read. The illustrations were adorable. I am a preschool teacher, and my kids enjoyed this story.
I have a four year old son and he has always been fascinated by construction vehicles. We live in a neighborhood where other houses are currently being built and we see the construction trucks all the time. He is always asking questions about them. My Son's Nana just recently bought him his own Tonka Dump truck that is electric and he can ride up and down the streets. This book made me think about putting his name on it. I only wish he had some friends with similar construction vehicles to ride with like in this story.
On the very first page of the book is a place to write who the book belongs to and then there is a strong inspirational message from the author Ashley Wall. I absolutely loved the little message on the dedication page that reminds all children that real construction vehicles are for trained professionals only and they are not toys.
I fell in love with this story so quickly. It is fun, quirky, and has great messages for children. The way that Luke and his friends work together to solve problems to meet an end goal of getting to the new ice cream store is a wonderful example of all the messages that can be found in the book.
The book is easy to read and the story is well written. There is so much going on with the pages that it held my sons attention easily and he loved asking questions about what he was seeing. I enjoyed the font that was used and they played with the font and color of certain words or phrases.
I am in love with the illustrations done by Vaughnn Duck. They are just perfect in my opinion. The colors are so bright. There is a ton of attention to detail. The children are lifelike including the animals.
I could just rant on and on about why I love this book so much, but I will stop here. This is a definite must read if you have a child(ren).
Rating: 5 out of 5. This is such a cute read and I love how it teaches about imagination, friendship, teamwork, and perseverance. I highly recommend this to anyone whose child loves construction vehicles.
Many thanks to Mamabear Books for this review copy. This is my honest opinion.
My son who is 4 years old really enjoyed this story about different construction vehicles. The title and the illustrations really appealed to him as he has an active interest. The language was simple and he was able to read some words himself. Ideal book for boys who love construction vehicles.
This is such a cute picture book! I went and bought a copy for the construction vehicle obsessed kids in my life.
Cute story, although I wouldn't read it to my child. Maybe it's the online version, but I think, the colours are too harsh, vivid. So it's more the edition than the story.
Perfect book for any construction truck toddler! My 4 yr old enjoyed this. He was jealous of the characters having construction equipment and is asking to go to a park like theirs to play! I enjoyed this light-hearted read. Thank, you NetGalley for the ARC.
Such a cute sweet read!
Toddler friendly and engaging for preschoolers as well.
A book for all construction vehicle loving children.
Too cute! These kids all wake up one day and have their own heavy machinery. They work together to make things better, like making a road to the ice cream shop. This was such a great tribute to imagination, play and cooperation.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this
What an adorable children book! I had read almost every book having to deal with construction vehicles and this one is high up on the list. My 5 year old absolutely loved it and was engaged throughout the whole book. I know we will be reading it again! I loved that the book was inclusive, fun and unique!
This would be the perfect addition to a really young reader’s library. It’s super silly but humorous at the same time. The illustrations were also super fun!
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with access to read this book!
My little who is obsessed with trucks LOVED this one! The art style is so cute and he loved all the different types of trucks! He laughed a few times and loved the hint of the Dino at the end! We will be reading this one again!
This is a cute story about a little boy, who gets a bulldozer. Then his friends have other construction vehicles. The illustrations are very adorable. I recommend this book.
This was a short and cute picture book about the benefits of having a wild imagination. Add in some heavy machinery and friends appearing each with their type and you're bound to set yourself up for an adventure.
Big illustrations with easy text will make this book a good addition for short attention spans. There's also the theme of problem-solving and understanding about making mistakes which were nice lessons to add to the story.
A little boys imagination spurs him on to using big machines to build roads in the neighborhood. The drawings will entertain young children.
Construction lovers will love this book! Friends join in on the fun and drives up in a dumptruck , steamroller, excavator to help with the job !The illustrations are bright and colorful which make the book fun for readers.
This is cute and fun especially if your little one likes construction vehicles. The story doesn't really go anywhere but it is fun
A fun story about a little boy who awakens to find there's a bulldozer in his yard. It has name on it. As the story progresses, his friends arrive in other construction vehicles. They need to make a new path to their favorite ice cream shop. Can they work together and get the job done?
Thank you NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I tested this book out with my three-year-old. It's difficult to go wrong when you include so many different big machines and have kids driving them. My son loved the story and lit up seeing all the big trucks he loves on the pages.
The artwork is really cute and bright. I'm a sucker for good art in children's books. I wouldn't mind this book in our reading rotation, but the story is a little bit scattered for me, so it wouldn't be my personal favourite. While I realize it was likely written in the same way a young child would be telling the story of their imaginative play that day, and some people might love that, I usually like a tighter narrative.
Overall, it's a really cute book and will for sure be a hit for any kids who are fascinated with big trucks.
