A sweet Love Inspired story from Harlequin. Great characters. Just the right amount of suspense and drama. Loved it!

I enjoy reading the Love Inspired romance. Clean reads that are a short story, but each read is a full story.
Our two main characters Mark Rivers and his ex-wife Kylie. The couple also has a young daughter.
Mark is a singer who devoted his time to his career with the time it took building it up. In the process he lost his wife and daughter to divorce because he devoted his time to what was important to him at the time. It wasn't his family. After getting counseling and rehab he knows what he needs to do, apologize to his family and make it right. While there it seems to be a little too easy for this family to fall back into the routine they had while married without Mark running off to his musical obligations. When Kylie has a medical emergency Mark steps right up and Kylie is enjoying his strength. The couple is starting to have feelings for each other again, but they are both afraid and they have a daughter to think about her feelings too. Mark has made his intentions clear he'll be leaving in a few weeks when Kylie no longer needs him. Kylie doesn't want to need Mark and fall for him if he'll put his career first again. Mark is afraid to develop feelings for Kylie and his daughter again because he knows he messed up once and feels he isn't deserving of a second chance at this happy family life. A beautiful story of redemption, forgiveness and second chances.

This was a sweet Valentine romance that did have some bittersweet moments. But also makes you think as think as you read it. I loved this and can I say this was indeed a second chance romance done right.

Mark is freshly out of rehab and wants to fix things with his ex-wife and daughter. When he sees shes having a health issue he sticks around for a bit to help run her coffee shop while she recuperates and slowly gets closer to the family he left behind.

This was a heartwarming book. Kylie already knows what its like being raised by a mentally ill addict mother and refuses to let her daughter deal with a addict parent so really shes unsure about Mark. Mark is really trying his best to be of help and be there for his small family but its only a matter of time that he goes back to his career in Nashville so it was interesting seeing how everything played out. I really liked the small town feel that was going on with everyone helping one another and being of support. Overall this was short sweet book and perfect for this time to read with Valentines day being close.

Mark Rivers returns to his hometown to apologize to his ex-wife after getting out of rehab, and ends up staying to help when unforeseen circumstances leave Kylie needing some help.

A heartwarming story of family and forgiveness. I liked how Mark stayed and got to know his daughter, reconnecting the town, and proving that he is a changed man. Little Junie is so cute, and I like how Mark got to know her better.

A sweet small town romance, with strong themes of faith and family. I loved that he was also able to reconnect with his brothers, I thought that it did a great job of dealing with issues of addiction as well as grace and forgiveness. Highly recommend.

Forgiveness for past transgressions is sometimes hard to give to the other party, but it is definitely hard to forget. Mark Rivers has come back to his hometown and his ex-wife and child to make amends for his vile behavior. He had addictions that made him into a man he did not want to be. He has now been sober for over a year, and he wants to make things right. His career as a music star was supposed to be a happy time, but instead he went down the wrong road.

Kylie Rivers has built a successful coffee shop/bakery and has been raising their daughter, Junie, all on her own. Kylie has scars not only from the destruction of her marriage to Mark, but from growing up with a mother who was an addict as well. When Mark arrives back in Sunset Ridge, he does not plan on staying for a long period. He just needs to make things right. However, when a medical emergency arises, Mark's newfound manhood and his faith start really shining through.

This book was about a subject matter which is very personal and relatable to a lot of people who have seen their families and marriages destroyed by addiction. I felt such empathy for Kylie. The more I learned of her story, I knew she had not had an easy life even before her marriage, but I also felt admiration for her. She persevered and overcame all of the usual stigmas. She pulled up her bootstraps and was determined to end the cycle by giving her daughter a wonderful home to grow up in. This was a story of hard fought redemption which can only be accomplished with strong faith. This was perfect for Valentine, as true love is not always easy, but it can definitely be sweet.

Thank you to Harlequin and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

When I want to read a sweet, inspirational romance that involves a cowboy, I always reach for one of Brenda Minton's books. Both of the main characters are likeable and admirable, and even though the ending is kind of predictable, it's still a wonderful read and an easy one you can finish quickly if you have the time. This would make a great gift for Valentine's Day too. Just a thought!

A Valentine's Day Return by Brenda Minton
Miniseries: Sunset Ridge (Book #2)
They thought love was in their past…
But could it be their future?
After completing rehab, Mark Rivers returns to his hometown to make amends with his ex-wife, Kylie, and their daughter. But he doesn’t expect to stick around beyond seeking her forgiveness. So when helping Kylie run her coffee shop after a health crisis draws them closer together, Mark is forced to decide—a career in Nashville or a second chance with the family he thought he’d lost forever…
This is Mark Rivers ex-wife, Kylie, and their daughter's story.
The town of Sunset Ridge, Oklahoma, had changed a lot since Mark Rivers left. He’d been eighteen the day he hit the road in an old pickup truck a lot like the one he drove today. A truck that smelled of oil and the farm, with cloth-and-vinyl seats and a faded red dash and more faded fake-wood trim. These days, he could afford better, but he’d bought this truck when his plane landed in Tulsa. A truck that took him back to his roots.
He pulled around the square, past Chuck’s Café, past the thrift store and the antique store, then found a parking space a short distance from Kylie’s Coffee Shop and Bakery. It was late on Sunday night. They weren’t at home. Church had let out an hour earlier. He couldn’t think of anywhere else they might be. His guess had been correct. The lights to the coffee shop were on.
Kylie hung cut-out hearts and white twinkling lights in the windows of her little shop with its green awning and bistro-style furniture. Through the big glass window, he saw her smile at their daughter, saw the light shimmer off her hair. She’d dyed it a silvery gray color. He liked it, even though he also loved her natural, dark hair color. Junie, now six, held the ends of the lights and said something that made them both laugh.
Junie. From birth, she’d had those dark curls and big eyes that made her daddy want to spoil her rotten and never let her cry. Too bad he’d been the cause of her tears.
They didn’t need him. Watching them through the window, that seemed obvious. They were happy in this life they’d built for themselves. They were laughing and smiling, two things they hadn’t done when they’d been with him. As he watched, Kylie twirled their daughter in lights, and then she took a quick picture of the two of them together.
I recommend this book.
