I enjoyed this fast paced romantic suspense with a firefighter hero that kept me turning pages to find out what happened.
Rory, a hotshot team member, faces attacks by a saboteur, while Brittney, a determined reporter, investigates a plane crash involving Rory and Ethan. Their paths collide when Brittney is threatened and Rory ends up watching over her. Despite initial distrust, they team up to uncover the attacker's identity. As their bond grows, so does the danger, leading to a thrilling confrontation. Secrets are revealed, and feelings emerge as they face unexpected foes. The book sets up a compelling mystery surrounding the saboteur within the hotshot team, leaving readers eager for the next installment.
I really liked how fast paced this book was. It really helped to keep me on the edge of my seat because it didn't slow down for even a moment. Right from the start, Rory and Brittany were in trouble and had to rely on each other to help get one another out of it. I also really loved Brittany being a reporter because I feel like that's a really fun job for a main character to have and allows a lot of different avenues for the story to go. The chemistry between her and Rory was definitely hot.
The two of them were willing to risk it all for each other and their instant connection had me hooked on them and completely invested in their relationship from the moment they met. The steamy scenes were done perfectly and blended in really well with all of the action and different parts of the plot. Everything just seemed to flow really well and I liked the way that Brittany refused to give up until she was able to discover all of Rory's secrets.
This book was intense in all the right ways and I could not put it down once I started it. The characters were written wonderfully and I fell in love with them and their relationship. I definitely recommend this book!
When it comes to this Hotshot Heroes series whenever I miss a book and pop right back into this series it reminds me why I even started this and then I have to go back and see what I missed because this series is really good and although you can read each one as a standalone it's even better when you can read them all together and kind of see where they fit together in certain areas.
That goes the same this new set of couple in this book is Rory and Brittany Brittany is related to one of the Hotshot Heroes and Rory survived a plane crash. While there is someone who definitely might be after the Hotshot Heroes it's a question of whether or not they are actually trying to Target Rory the hatch a hero or Brittany who is a journalist writing about it and the person clearly doesn't want whatever getting out and needs to silence her. So it was an adventure reading the process of these two going through what they had to go through in this book, then there's the attraction between the two and I really enjoyed following along. Now I have to go back and see what books I missed because I'm really enjoying the series.
This is Romantic Suspense, and this is the 10th book in the Hotshot Heroes series. I read several of the other books in this series before picking up this book, but I do think you can read this book as a standalone. There is a secondary mystery going on throughout this series, so if you read this book as a standalone you may not understand the saboteur storyline/mystery. I really enjoyed the main mystery in this book. This book has a lot of action and suspense, but there is also a good amount of romance with some steamy times. The ending was so great and I did not see it turning out like it did. I really want to find out who the saboteur is. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Harlequin Romantic Suspense) or author (Lisa Childs) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book.
Fast-paced suspense with nearly nonstop action that kept me glued to the pages well past my bedtime. I could not put it down until I had finished reading it. This book has two targets. Rory, as a member of the hotshot team experiencing attacks by a saboteur, and Brittney, a reporter determined to unearth the truth behind the plane crash that only Rory and Ethan (Hotshot Hero in Disguise) survived. The book opens with Rory in a coma because of an attack at the firehouse, followed by Brittney receiving threats to stop her investigation.
Brittney is like a dog with a bone in that she refuses to back down. Despite the threats, she heads back to Northern Lakes to try to talk to Rory and Evan again. She is shot at and wrecks, ending up in the hospital just as Rory is being released. Instead of avoiding her like he intended, Rory is talked into watching over her until her brother arrives. That includes keeping her from haring off to investigate her crash. Rory has good reason to avoid Brittney. He has secrets that could get him killed if they come out. He also can't deny the unexpected and unwelcome need to protect her.
I loved watching Rory and Brittney team up. Initially, there is some distrust between them. Brittney knows Rory is hiding something big and won't give up until she uncovers it. Rory believes that Brittney would sell her soul for a story without regard for its consequences. As they worked together to identify the attacker, Brittney and Rory became closer and protective of each other. The attacks escalated in frequency and intensity, leading Rory to take desperate measures to keep them safe. Rory's confession was not what I expected and added to my respect for him. The final confrontation was intense and had me on the edge of my seat until it was over. I could feel Rory and Brittney's fear for each other's safety as they faced their unexpected foe. I loved the ending and seeing them admit their feelings for each other.
The book begins and ends with scenes involving the saboteur targeting the hotshot team. It is now clearly a fellow member, but we must determine which one. The pool of possibilities is shrinking, and I can't wait to discover who it is and why they are doing it.
Thrilling heroics, burning attraction and betrayal afoot!
I jumped head first into this book and it was the first I’ve read of the hotshot series. Our main man Rory is tall and LEAN which isn’t our typical romance book hero and I adore that.
I enjoyed it so much that I immediately went online and purchased the rest of the books in the series and am excited for the next one to see what happens!
Such a hot Series , full of fastpaced susoense , amazing hot shot heros , the characters all have a past , some like Rory wants to keep that past closed but someone out there is determinedto unveal all secrets. This is the tenth book in this series , keep getting better !
The suspense builds quickly in this fast-paced novel about the Hotshot Heroes of the Northern Lakes. The target this time is Rory VanDam, a man with a secret past that may get him killed. This book has a secondary target, too, in the form of Brittany Townsend, a reporter determined to ferret out the truth about Rory’s past. Both are in the crosshairs of a killer. Perhaps the saboteur who has been stalking the hotshots during the previous books in the series is now targeting these two, but the clues led me to believe that there is a lot more to the story. The plot is complex, the clues are numerous and there are even some well laid red herrings along the path to discovering the truth. I enjoyed getting to know more about Brittany and meeting Rory, a swoonworthy hero for sure since he is willing to die for his new lady love. The way the team works together to try to keep each other safe is admirable and realistic. I enjoyed reading the story and finding out Rory’s secret as well as Brittany’s vulnerabilities. The dynamic characters make this series one of the best out there, with non-stop action and filled with suspense and dangerous scenarios and some steam for those who like those scenes. I look forward to more in the series, but I do want to add that any of the books can be read as a standalone as each features a different hotshot and each has an original and engaging plot.

Hunted Hotshot Hero is a well written romantic suspense. I enjoyed the plot and character dynamics. My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my advance ebook. This is my unbiased review.
It kept me turning the pages. Not everything was resolved to my satisfaction. I have only read one other of this series. It was engaging and I liked the couple that were getting romantically involved. It probably would have been better to have read more of the previous ones, but obviously not really necessary. I do look forward to reading more, either further or past ones. I did skip over the intimate scenes. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.
