Unfortunately I did not like this one. The writing was hard to follow and I didn't like the main characters or their relationship.
Oxford, science, pastry mishaps? This book's summary had me at its proverbial hello and it didn't disappoint! While this book was spicer than my personal preference, I just skipped over those parts and nothing was lost. I really enjoyed watching Henry and Lucy's story unfold.
Easy to read STEM romance - not very spicy but there is a little. I think I read it would be spicier so don’t read it for that. Could have been shorter, found the last quarter of the book to be a bit ‘get on with it’. Good easy read for the beach or travel.
I finally got round to read this and I enjoyed it but i think towards the end it got a bit much and should of ended much earlier. I think I need to read more STEM books as this one did introduce me to the world of STEM so i'm thankful that this book has gotten me to branch into this direction as I'm always looking for new subgenres!
A heartwarming friends to lovers romance that had me smiling from the first page.
It was so lovely to read a romance where I felt the characters actually cared for each other. The banter between Clara and Henry had me sniggering at certain points and I’m definitely pinching the post it notes in coffee cups idea.
I flew through the pages of this book and am very excited to read more from this author.
This is a book I’ll be shouting about to all who will listen.
Thank you for opportunity to read and review
Unable to complete ARC before publishing date due to personal circumstances, however what I did read I really enjoyed and loved seeing more women in STEM represented
I loved this book. I flew through it once I started reading it properly (yes, I did read one chapter in June, but I read the remainder on my flight from the UK to Australia) as it was engaging and fun. It definitely gives Ali Hazelwood vibes, but I felt like I didn't have to know what they were talking about in depth to understand what was happening (I am not a STEM girlie).
I adored the friends to lovers trope. The tension was perfect and the slow burn romance was gooood. It was witty and self-deprecating which is my type of humour. I felt like the characters were also real and relatable and I loved them instantly.
100% recommend!
1/5 - I really couldn’t get into The Hot Henry Effect. From the start, it didn’t grab my attention, and as I kept reading, I found myself struggling to stay interested. The story felt disjointed, and I couldn’t connect with the characters or their motivations. I gave it a fair chance, but the pacing just didn’t work for me, and I found myself getting distracted often. It might resonate with other readers, but for me, it just wasn’t an enjoyable experience. I appreciate the opportunity to read it, but I won’t be recommending this one.
This was really cute, very sweet. It was a bit too fast paced but very enjoyable. Would love to read a book about the side characters.
First of all thank you for approving my request!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The authors writing style had me hooked throughout this book.
I didn't want it to end, a book I really couldn't put down.
I didn't hate this book! I thought it leaned a little too strongly on Clara's obliviousness to Henry's affection and I didn't love Dominic's side plot, but it was sweet overall
this book was such an easy read! I loved the banter between the main characters. I definitely recommend picking it up if you’re looking for a little treat!
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an E-ARC to review
This does not in any way, shape, or form alter my opinions or rating of this book.
To start off, I feel I could not connect to the FMC because of her attitude and personality throughout the book. I did not feel as if there was much character development throughout the book as well. I think the writing is very cute and cheesy with the references made in the book. I would not say I disliked this book but it was not a favorite for me.
Absolutely loved this book and honestly wished it was longer. A really cute storyline and loved the main characters
I was really looking forward to this book - as a woman in science I love a STEM romance! I don't know if I hyped it up too much in my head but this didn't hit as I thought it would. The characters are fine but there's not much depth to them - there are multiple references to past events but we never actually hear more about them. The miscommunication began to grate on me towards the end, and then it all seemed to wrap up really suddenly. I also didn't think it was very spicy, which isn't a bad thing but I expected more. This book was easy to read but wasn't my favourite.
Thank you to One More Chapter, Harper Collins UK and NetGalley for an advanced digital copy in return for an honest review.
If you are looking for a super adorable, lighthearted, feel good romance read then i'd definitely pick this up! It has all the romcom vibes and features characters in STEM. It's a quick and easy read and the romance was very sweet! Thank you so much to HarperCollins UK/One More Chapter for my ARC!
This was an easy going and fun romance read. I loved the banter Clara and Henry and thought Henry was the sweetest. I was glad Clara came over her fears and had supportive friends in her corner.
3 stars... This one was just ok for me and it took me awhile to complete it..I will try more from this author

Thank you, NetGalley & OMC, for approving the ARC of this book.
I was excited for this book as I really enjoy Ali Hazelwood and her stem romances, so to find another author who has also written a stem romance was something I really wanted to read.
Clara & Henry are working together in her lab she seems to be the only one who isn't effected by the 'Hot Henry Effect' the other women seem to to be, while objectively she can see why. 7 years pass, and Henry & Clara end up working together again.
This book had some great British humour, and Henry is just the sweetest, while Clara can't see what is right in front of her.
Brilliant Book, a beautifully written rom com which had me engrossed and laughing. A second chance romance and a great holiday read
