As an unapologetic Disney Adult and someone who will read anything written by Christina Lauren, the day this book got announced felt like being rewarded for something by the universe. The book itself is like a dream I would’ve been singing about in The Snuggly Duckling.

Ren is young woman who has lived off the grid with her parents for her entire life. She’s finally leaving the homestead for the first time and fulfilling a dream to attend Corona College. Fitz is living the life he wants everyone to believe is his reality while working to graduate at the top of the class and embark on the future he has all mapped out for himself. Ren’s arrival on campus threatens to upend all his plans, and a lab assignment leads to questions that send the two of them on a roadtrip that will change both their lives.

I love Tangled and this book was everything I could’ve asked for in a modern retelling. Ren completely encapsulated the spirit of Rapunzel. She is endlessly curious and the light she shines on everyone makes it impossible not to love her. Fitz has all the charisma of Flynn Rider. It’s endearingly comical to see his reluctant care and protectiveness for Ren and so sweet as he allows himself to emerge from the denial he tries to live in. The chemistry between the two of them is so good. The genuine affection that develops is touching. I enjoyed reading this book so much.

Thank you to NetGalley and Hyperion Avenue for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

An enthralling journey of love, self-discovery, and unexpected twists! 'Tangled Up In You' by Christina Lauren captivates with its rich characters, witty banter, and a rollercoaster of emotions. The seamless blend of romance and personal growth keeps you glued to every page, making it impossible to put down. A must-read for anyone seeking a heartwarming, passionate tale that leaves you feeling utterly fulfilled.

I wasn’t sure how I would feel about Ren, but I think the 3rd party narration acknowledging that her enthusiasm and optimism for the simplest things in life would come off as annoying to anyone else. I did see the plot twist coming but wasn’t 100% how it would play out so I did feel excited to continue reading to find out.

As usual, I wanted more. More Ren & Fitz. Hopefully a sequel? Overall, would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting an easy, but enchanting read.

Tangled Up in You by Christina Lauren is a retelling of Disney’s Tangled which is a retelling of the fairy tale, Rapunzel. While I was familiar with the story, I never saw the film.

It is impossible to not be charmed by the story, and the way Christina Lauren can spin a tale. The main female character, Ren, has lived off the grid on a farm with her strict parents. She is bright, self-sufficient, and resourceful. She starts college at 22, and, of course, is completely different from her peers because she has never used a cell phone, internet, etc. However, because of her kindness and helpfulness, she charms the other students. I was worried that she would endure suffering because of not fitting in. When she embarks on a road trip with one of the most popular male students, they both grow and learn from each other.

This was a delightful read.

This was my first Meant to Be book, but will not be my last. Any fan of Disney and romance needs to know about this series. Ren and Edward were a super sweet match that had me smiling the entire book.

"Tangled Up In You" is the fourth book in the "Meant To Be Series", which is a series of modern day retellings of various Disney princesses by a variety of authors. I've always enjoyed books by the author due Christina Lauren, so I was particularly excited to read this book. This particular book is a modern reimagining of the Disney movie "Tangled." Ren has grown up on a farm in very rural Idaho, surrounded only by her parents and their animals. She's never been allowed around technology and only sees other humans on the one day a week they go to "town" to collect their mail and get groceries. But after years of begging, she's finally able to convince her parents to let her go to college. At 22, she's the oldest freshman at her school and quickly realizes that she's very different from other students. On her very first day, she meets Fitz, who is not what he seems like either. Along the way, the two of them discover that they have so much more in common than they ever realized. And when Ren uncovers a shocking family secret, she turns to Fitz to help her discover the truth.

This was a sweet, enjoyable romance that kept me smiling to the end! I was really surprised that this book even includes a mystery, and enjoyed reading how Ren and Fitz had to work together while also working through their growing feelings for each other. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

“If you took the raw confidence of Florence Pugh, the bone structure of Austin Butler, the charm of Jenna Ortega, and multiplied it by the effortless sensuality of Timothee Chalamet, you’d have Fitz.” Did someone say smoulder? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Tangled Up In You is a modern retelling of Tangled. A Christina Lauren romance mixed with pure Disney nostalgia? I see the light, and this is perfection.

Ren (Rapunzel) has grown up isolated on an off-the-grid homestead in Idaho. Homeschooled, and completely self-educated, Ren decides to secretly apply to college at 22. When her parents begrudgingly allow her to go, questions of her past begin to plague her. With the help of a reluctant and blackmailed Fitz (hello Flynn) they set across the country both hellbent on their own missions; Ren, looking for the truth about her past, and Fitz hoping to right some wrongs (and get Ren and her beautiful hair out of his).

The blooming relationship between Ren and Fitz is swoony, sunshiney sweetness. And, like all good fairytales, the story has a pretty dramatic ending. Do note that the story does follow the original pretty closely - so if abuse/kidnapping are not for you - be kind to yourself. ♥️

I do feel like someone pressed the wrong button when I received this arc, but hey I had a dream. 😉

Thank you Christina Lauren, Hyperion Avenue and NetGalley for an electronic advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Tangled Up In You is a modern day Rapunzel reimagining of Disney's Tangled, complete with a main character with shining and super long gold hair!

Ren has never left the homestead, used a cell phone, or even Google. She spent her life reading and learning how to be self-sufficient and found herself with a full college scholarship at the age of 22. Fitz is a college senior and motivated to finish at the top of his class, but when Ren shows up at his college, his dreams of having his juvenile criminal record wiped clean are put in jeopardy.

Ren and Fitz are in an immunology class together, where Ren shines and Fitz struggles. The class does a simple DNA test which turns Ren's world upside down. Soon, they find themselves on a road trip together as Ren searches for answers...and before they know it, they are tangled up in feelings for one another.

I absolutely adore this book. The quirkiness of Ren's character is fantastic, and I love that she's strong and independent. Fitz is great and worked so hard to get his life back together after a difficult childhood. I adored that he was really just a good guy throughout the book. The romance was so sweet, and I love d that Fitz made sure Ren fully understood consent when they finally kissed.. I would have loved more details about Gloria and Steve to add to the mystery. The ending also wrapped up more quickly than I would have liked. Overall, this is an adorable quick read and I really enjoyed it.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

Ren has lived off the grid for most of her life and away from the read world. She finally manage to attend Corona College and meets Fitz. They crash obviously but they are right for each other too.

I love the Rapunzel mentions. I enjoy how Fitz and Ren crash and sizzle. It's so much fun. It's romantic and funny. It's exactly what you would expect from a Christina Lauren book. Really enjoy this fun book.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

This is a very cute and heartwarming book about self-discovery and relationships. Throw in a cute boy, (somewhat) forced proximity and a road trip and you have a love connection.

Yes, this is a Tangled retelling but coming from someone who doesn't really care for Disney movies, this book was great. It's an adult version of tangled with real life issues.

I really loved Ren and how even though she isn't traditionally schooled she is super smart, hard working and a great problem solver. I like how her character develops over time. I love that Fitz had a lot more character to him than what we are first led to believe.

A quick, fun, romantic read.

If you're a fan of princess.Disney retellings, you will enjoy this! A modern day retelling of Tangled perfect for RomCom fans. I loved how it switched between both Ren and Fitz telling parts of the story. It really adds to the story hearing from both characters. The beginning took me a little to get into but once it picked up I had to keep reading to find out what happened!

The meant to be series have given some of my favorite authors such a fun way to shine. When I saw Christina Lauren were going to take a turn with tangled I was excited and they did not disappoint, it’s such a challenge to be true to a Disney movie in a realistic and modern way but they nailed it. I really enjoyed their take. The main characters were so easy to root for and I felt genuine suspense thinking about what was to come.

A grown up fairy tale for fans of romance, tangled, and Christina Lauren

Tangled was a cute story about girl named Ren navigating the outside world for the first time on her own. She’s very naive but very intelligent self taught. She finds out she a child of kidnapping so she and the fitz goes on a road to find her bio dad to discover who she is and to have more experiences. It’s was a nice story but not my favorite Christina Lauren story.

A modern retelling of Disney Tangled by Christina Lauren-woo Hoo! I couldn't wait to read this.
Ren has lived on the homestead with her parents living a life of routine taking care of the animals and doing her chores. She has never gone to school. She has taught herself from books from the library. Her dream has been to leave and go to college. Now that she is 22 years old her parents have finally agreed to let her go.

She may go but has to come home on weekend to do chores. She has also has rules to live by at college one is never leaving campus. Since she doesn't have a cell phone or used a computer or slept away from home she is socially awkward around other kids.

She takes a class and spits into a tube to learn about her ancestry. She gets back results that shock her as her parents may have lied to her. This puts her taking matters into her own hands and going on a road trip with Fritz. The roadtrip shenanigans make me laugh and think this should be made into a movie. I love watching this relationship grow. This was so well written and executed and I loved it.

4.5 stars out of 5!

This truly is a real life Rapunzel story and it was so good! I haven't read the other books in the Meant to Be series but I am adding them to my list. I liked how this book was written in duel POV's and we got to see how both Ren and Fitz aka Edward were feeling. The book was very fast paced and I found it hard to put down. Overall, this was such a good book and I'd highly recommend it.

Ren has been raised on a homestead with her 2 parents and never has been to a classroom. She has learned everything she knows being homeschooled and reading every book she can get her hands on. She convinces her parents to let her go to college and cannot wait. When Ren arrived at school the first day, she mets Fitz. He was assigned to give her a tour of the campus and they later find out they have a class together. Fitz has a bad past but puts on a good front. One day Ren finds Fitz in a bad position and holds blackmail over him to get him to take her on his road trip to Nashville so she can get to Atlanta on a wild goose chase. Without giving too much away, the rest of the book is action packed and will keep you turning the pages as quickly as you can.

Thanks Netgalley and Hyperion Avenue for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Christina and Lauren are my FAVORITE author duo EVER. There's only been one book I haven't loved of theirs and that has nothing to do with them and everything to do with me hating Groundhog Day. LOL
This was a great addition to the series that takes Disney princesses and puts them in current real life stories.

No bro when they say Tangled retelling-- they mean it. Ren was fully a Disney Princess, but I don't want to sell her short. Dual POV meant you really see Ren's actions and thoughts in a way that inspires a surprising amount of depth. I was KICKING my feet, Flynn Rider-core indeed.

P.S. I opened this book at 10:30pm and did not close it until I finished at 2:30am.

Tangled Up In You is the fourth installment in the A Meant To Be series and it can be read as a standalone. This is a modern day retelling of the classic Rapunzel and draws inspiration from the Disney film, Tangled. The novel is about Ren, a self-taught, off-the-grid woman attending college for the first time, and Fitz, a student with a meticulously planned future. Their lives intertwine through an immunology seminar assignment, leading them on an unexpected road trip where they discover that the answers to their dreams might lie in their unlikely partnership.

I had mixed feelings about this book. I loved the backdrop and was captivated by all the intriguing characters. Yet, I couldn't help noticing striking similarities to Kiss the Girl, the third book in the A Meant To Be series, especially in the road trip scenes. The pacing of the book seemed to be a bit off to me. The beginning of the book was really intriguing, but once we got to the road trip part, it was pretty slow. The last quarter of the book felt rushed and packed with events with little to no explanations which led to an abrupt ending. I was also surprised to find this book to be more young adult versus adult. Contrary to the previous books in the series which featured mid-20s adults, this book felt more like a young adult novel, with Ren and Fitz behaving more like teenagers despite being in their early 20s. Fitz’s character was well-developed and was fascinated by his backstory, but Ren’s golden retriever energy and naivety were so excessive that it was off-putting for me. Unfortunately, this was my least favorite in the series, but it was entertaining to read so I rated it 3 stars.

Christina Lauren and a fairytale retelling... need I say more?! Christina Lauren is one of my "go to" authors -- if they write it, then I will be reading it! This is a such a fun retelling and I could not put it down! Now excuse me while I go watch Tangled...

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an advanced copy of Tangled Up in You by Christina Lauren.

Tangled Up in You by Christina Lauren is a really cute modern reimagining of Disney’s Tangled movie. I’m very familiar with the movie storyline, and it was so fun trying to spot all the Easter eggs and nods to the original story, of which there are many! The authors did an amazing job sticking to the plot of Tangled, while still writing a very captivating standalone novel.

Knowing how the original story goes, the book was fairly predictable for me, but in this case, I’d say that’s a good thing. I couldn’t wait to see how the authors were going to tie in the next major plot point in a more modern way, and they completely nailed it every time. I also appreciated that the book is pretty PG, since it’s associated with Disney, and also because Ren/Rapunzel is such a sweet, innocent character. The main characters were both very lovable, and really captured the essence so well of the characters they were modeled after. It’s not necessarily your typical Christina Lauren book, but their experience writing a witty story with clever banter in this dual POV still shines through.

I can always count on Christina Lauren to give me a silly little rom-com when I need it most. This was such a fresh and heartfelt take on tangled and I adored it.
