Props to Christina Lauren for another great book! This is a wonderful modern day version of Tangled. I loved the take on it and was waiting for how the different events would unfold. I even forgot towards the end that her mother would show up! I read it in one day it was so good! Definitely read it. Great ending. Thanks to Netgallley for the ARC.

OMG I was so excited to be approved to read Tangled Up In You by Christina Lauren as an early reader! This story combines two of my favorite things- the Meant To Be Disney romance retellings and Christina Lauren, one of my absolute favorite romance authors! And obviously, this book met and exceeded all of my high expectations! Tangled Up In You is a Tangled reimagining, with our main female character, Ren, growing up on a homestead and finally getting the opportunity to go to college, albeit with many rules and limitations, by her parents. Fitz, our main male character, is the charming bad boy who reluctantly agrees to take Ren on his pre-planned road trip when she has questions about new she has received about herself.
Tangled Up In You follows along the Tangled plot fairly closely, especially compared to the other Meant To Be reimaginings. This book is very sweet and fun, there were points where I laughed aloud. I absolutely adored this book!

Tangled Up In You was a wonderful retelling of Disney's Tangled! The retelling of the Rapunzel story was believable, and as someone who loves the film (and with a 5 and 3 year old I have seen it many times) this was a fun and fresh spin! The character Ren was really enjoyable, and although she was sequestered from the outside world, she didn't seem naïve or unbelievable as a character. Her counterpart, Fitz (so glad we got away from Eugene) was a wonderful book boyfriend. I loved the care the authors took in expanding his backstory and motivations, as well as character development. In particular, the care Fitz took to make sure he wasn't taking advantage of Ren was very well done and not over the top. I also enjoyed the ending (no spoilers) and that after the BIG EVENT there was time spent to continue to develop the characters and not just a rush into the HEA.
Overall, I really enjoyed the book! I would definitely say it's more geared toward the less spicy inclined, but the relationship was still great!

I enjoyed this book by Christina Lauren. Goes well with the series of Disney stories. I love Tangled and love their writing. Just not my favorite from them. Great writing and enjoyable and maybe it was the modern day of the story but it was hard to believe someone had never had an iPhone, ever been off their land, never been anywhere and their parents finally let them go to college. The back story I would think they would have kept them home forever. Again, love Christina Lauren and their writing. Just not my favorite.

Okay, I was shook when I saw that tangled (one of my fav more modern Disney movies) was getting a retelling, but I was especially stoked when I saw that Christina and Lauren were doing it. So of course, I squealed when I got the approval through netgalley and let me tell you it didn't disappoint.

Knowing the story so well I wasn't sure how all the pieces were going to come together, but Ren and Fitz were perfect. Honestly this story was totally appropriate for older ya readers too as it does touch on some sensitive topics, but overall it was so well done. Ren was exactly how I pictured Rapunzel would be in modern times and Fitz was perfect for Flynn and all of the other details were tied together so well the only downside was that it ended so soon!

This was a super cute and fun read! Tangled is one of my favorite Disney movies and I loved all the nods and similarities to the plot of the movie. Ren and Fitz will make you laugh, make you angry and make you cry all at once. Ren is a sheltered ray of sunshine and Fitz is closed off and grumpy but yet Ren is able to wear him down. I loved the twist at the end!

🌶: 0/5 (but good tension)
Firstly, I am both a Christina Lauren and Disney Stan. So this was ENTIRELY up my alley (or tower). I loved this urban retelling of Tangled so much.

Sheltered Ren, wild smoldering Fitz. Two geniuses embark on a road trip to found family and find something else as well.

Ren has the breezy, happy, naivety that we love of Rapunzel, and Fitz captures the mischievous dashing Flynn Rider, BUT they are their own characters with very good backstories. The story has some good tension, mystery, and feel good moments. No spice, but that is fine by me since the story carries it completely without that - plus not many fairytales have steam!!

If you're a fan of CLo (who isn't???) And Tangled, you will eat this up like I did. Completely recommend for a quick, easy and enjoyable read. You'll fall in love with the characters and the journey.

Seriously. They can do no wrong. This Rapunzel adaption is perfect. Ren and Fitz go on an adventure and find themselves along the way. The banter was hilarious and the book loosely followed the movie we all love. There was practically no spice, which is not the norm for these authors but expected given the story. It was fun and I read it in one sitting.

This is a unique modern day retelling of the Disney movie Tangled. As someone who has watched that movie I really enjoyed the similarities between the plot and characters. Fitz is not quite like Flynn Ryder but I think I liked him even better. He was so sweet to Ren and their relationship was fun.

Ren is such a great character! I loved her optimism. She is naive but due to her upbringing that is understandable.

Having read books by this author I was surprised at the lack of spice. Even with the lack of spice I enjoyed this and didn’t want it to end. I do wish we could have had a more detailed epilogue.

I thought this was a sweet, cute modern retelling of Disney’s Rapunzel. If you are a Disney adult, this is definitely for you! I have read the first book in this series and I felt similarly. It was cute and sweet, but definitely not the sexy sizzle I am used to from Christina Lauren.

I have been a fan of Christina Lauren for about 7 or 8 years - and I love that they are still producing great romances (Something Wilder is my all time fave of their more mainstream romances).

I only watched Tangled once a long time ago, but it's a classically known tale so it was easy to pick up on what was the fairy tale and what was reimagined for a contemporary romance.

Christina Lauren somehow immediately encapsulated the gross feeling of Ren being controlled perfectly in the first chapter. Seeing a modern telling of Tangled is actually pretty messed up when you think of the layers of how Ren has been failed by society. Every time her parents were on the page I felt itchy from their mere presence - they are well encapsulated villains.

Ren is also intelligent and kind and naïve in all the best ways, and Fitz has a great amount of reflection in who he is as a person and how he navigates falling for Ren knowing he needs to do some work on himself. This is definitely a more chaste PG romance - and I think if it had been more physical given Ren's controlled life that that would not have at all worked in this story - so it was nice to see how emotion and consent driven everything was.

The only reason I'm removing stars is because I super struggle to read anything based in a college atmosphere - which has been my work environment for the last 14 years. Some of the major plot points based on Corona are genuine violations of federal law, and, having actually worked in policy, nothing is ever decided in 24-hours or less, I've had cases take 2+ years. Plus the concept of "top of your class" is not entirely how anything works. Knowing all of those things I just could not separate reality from what the story was trying to create with these plot points - instead I was thinking "Well, get a lawyer and that's over before this sentence is done being typed."

All that being said, if you've read Christina Lauren before you know how solid and fun their storylines are. They made a fun, modern retelling of an enemies-to-lovers esque romance, and it's great for a pleasure read, especially if you're looking for more of a lower-heat-sweet romance.

Thank you to NetGalley and Hyperion Avenue for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Christina Lauren can do no wrong and this is an example of this! Love the spin on a disney classic too! 5 stars! Thank you for the opportunity to read and review!

This was the first fairy tale adaptation that I’ve read as an adult. I wasn’t sure what to expect, and but I really enjoyed this book. This a modernized retelling of Rapunzel, with no fantastical elements. Some of the story was predictable since I know the story of Rapunzel, but it was different enough to not feel redundant. Overall, this book was a lot of fun! I will be recommending this book when it officially comes out!

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for an opportunity to read this in exchange for an honest review. A modern day retelling of Rapunzel, if you will. I devoured this book in less than 24 hours, as I tend to do with most of Christina Lauren's books. Loved it! Definitely gave some sizzle as well as left me laughing in several places. Would definitely recommend!

Perfect for Tangled fangirls like myself, “Tangled Up in You” is a modern rom-com reimagining of the Disney classic. Ren and Fitz have all the charm of Rapunzel and Flynn, so fear not. This is like reading a quality modern AU fanfiction, though beware, this is from a Disney imprint, so shenanigans stay strictly PG/maybe bordering PG-13. Give it a go if you like college/NA romance, grumpy/sunshine, road trips, and the only one bed trope.

Christina Lauren is one of my very favorite authors and I grab their books before all others on my TBR list. That being said, Tangled Up In You by Christina Lauren fell short of my expectations. While the writing was solid, the story didn't capture the essence that I typically associate with Christina Lauren's writing. It lacked the signature charm, spice and humor that make their books stand out. Overall, an average read but not the experience I anticipated.

I have never really read a romance inspired by a Disney movie and I was so happy to read this book. And it was amazing! If you love tangled at all you should read this book!

I love Christina Lauren and Tangled Up in You doesn't disappoint. Tangled is my favorite Disney princess movie and I absolutely love this adaptation. Plus, they touch on the problems society faces being so dependent on our phones. Technology is great but maybe we all would be happier and more fulfilled if we lived a little more like Ren. Most read 5 stars.

Thank you NetGalley and Christina Lauren for this arc.

Do you love Disney? Do you enjoy romantic comedies? This book is for you!

Disclaimer: I am not a Disney girlie; however, I am a Christina Lauren girlie. Therefore, I HAD to read this book! I am not disappointed in the least, and I LOVED every part of this story! The ending is a definite plot twist so read to find out more!

There is only kissing in this book, but the transition of feelings of Fitz made me super giddy and, in the end, the admiration we see of Fitz' character towards Ren made me fall in love with him, myself! Ren's character is exceptionally loveable and I adore her! Ren and Fitz are perfect for each other and Christina Lauren did a fabulous job! I still stand by all things C.L. and will continue to support! Thank you for the ARC!

Tangled Up in You follows Ren who with her family has been living off the grid for 22 years. But this year everything is changing because she is going to college. Fitz is at the top of his class at Corona College and has his life mapped out for him. When Ren comes to Corona College she challenges Fitz in his top-class spot. Everything changes when they get an assignment in their immunology seminar. Soon Fitz and Ren are on a road trip together and they two soon realize that their dreams might be in front of them the whole time.

The Ment to Be series has become one of my favorites as a Disney adult. This one is now my favorite in this series. I loved this retelling of Tangled. The relationship between Ren and Fitz was so dang cute. I love how Fitz helped Ren become her own in this book. I loved the adventure vibes of this book as well. I enjoyed that spice level in this book fit the vibes of the characters without being too much. Also, Christian Lauren will always be one of my go-to romance authors. At this point when they write a book I know I am going to love it. If you love Disney or cute romance books this is the book for you.
