Once again Lisa Regan has written an outstanding book.
I love Josie so much and this one showed so much emotion.
Love watching what all Noah will go through just for her. Powerful emotions for both of them in this book.
I enjoyed the plot, it was well written. I did miss the team some, but can not wait to see how they all interact together in the next book. I have a feeling there is going to be some fireworks.
Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this.

This book is heavy. From beginning to end it deals with serious issues.

For Josie and Noah their love has always been enough, or has it? Josie has received some unsettling news from the doctor and when Noah finds out his feeling show for a half second. That's all Josie needs to see and then she pulls away.

Going to a complex PTSD retreat without talking to Noah may have been her last decision.

Read the book to see if she and the others make it out.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Wow, another great book in the Josie Quinn series by Lisa Regan. At first I wasn’t sure how I was going to like this book, but I shouldn’t have worried. Jose leaves Denton to attend a retreat for people who are dealing with trauma, she is joined by five strangers and the doctor who is leading the retreat. It is located in a remote area in the mountains with no Wi-Fi or with almost no cellphone reception. A snowstorm hits and traps them there, then one is found murdered and another is missing. This book kept me guessing and I couldn’t put it down. Thank you Bookouture and Netgalley for my arc.

Lisa Regan has done it again with her 19th Josie Quinn book. Josie goes alone to a retreat to work on her severe PTSD and it is anything besides relaxing. Josie finds herself in a predicament outside of her jurisdiction in circumstances that have her cut off from help. Her husband scrambles to help her and finds a few bumps of his own. As with all Josie Quinn books, I continue to await the next book at the finish of the last. You cannot go wrong with this series!!!
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for allowing me to preview this book for my opinion.

I am always excited when I see a new Josie Quinn book. Josie is stuck in a snowstorm at a retreat in the mountains with a killer. Nobody can get to her. Although Noah may die trying. I loved this book but did miss the rest of Josie’s team and family. I highly recommend this book and series.

This is a huge change of pace from what I've grown to expect from the Josie Quinn series and in the end, it only made me respect Regan as an author even more.

I wouldn't call this a police procedural, it's more of a "locked room" mystery with a bit of off the job police work.

Josie goes to a retreat in the mountains with five other strangers who are all there to be treated for PTSD or the likes. One patient goes missing, they're caught in a blizzard, and... I'll say no more because it feels spoiler-y (even though the synopsis does!).

Setting the scene was done well, starting things off slower than I'd grown used to in this series but as things developed the pace picked up. As soon as I realised we were in for a different kind of ride, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

I wish I knew before going in this was a different style, because I started out a teeny tiny bit disappointed for change (a me issue, not the book) but now I'm more so just impressed.

However, the ending was way to rushed for me. I feel like we missed a huge part of the would be story jumping from A to Z. It's not often I wish a book was longer, but here I think we needed more.

If you're a Josie Quinn reader, you'll be holding on to the edge of your seat or biting your lips. This is a quick suspenseful mystery. I'll be looking forward to book #20!

Wow! What a great book from Lisa Regan! This latest book featuring Josie Quinn, a detective with the Denton Police Department, was explosive and terrifying. The setting is high in the mountains of Pennsylvania at Sacred New Beginnings Retreat intended to help six people find ways to overcome severe stress. What was not factored in to the five-day retreat was a crippling snowstorm which cut them off from civilization. Amid questionable deaths and limited contact with Josie’s team back home, she was forced to stay the course and figure out what was happening to save the lives of the remaining attendees. Lisa Regan does not disappoint as she brings the conference to a startling close!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy of this book.

Detective Josie Quinn isn’t in a good place. She’s feeling the loss of her colleague Mett and some bad news in her personal life. She decides on a remote mountain retreat with an instructor and 5 other people who have experienced real trauma in life. When someone turns up dead and the caretaker disappears, Josie tries to get to the bottom of things. But stuck in a storm with no phone signal and no way to contact the outside world, is dangerous. Who is the killer.

This was such a good read. I love this whole series. Josie is such a relatable character and I genuinely love the whole team. This book was slightly disappointing as we didn’t get to see enough of the rest of the team. However the suspense was great. For me the killer was kind of obvious, to the point I really thought it must be someone else. I found myself desperately seeking clues I was right. The author really made me doubt myself and had me questioning every action and reaction in the book. So worth a read and definitely 5 ⭐️

Detective Josie Quinn is at a trauma retreat in a remote locations in the mountains.
Things take a turn when one of the attendees is found murdered. They are stuck, with no cell phone reception and Josie is trying to figure out what happened. Between the remote location, the snow storm and people at the retreat aren’t who they claim to be Josie is in an impossible situation. The suspense in this book grabs you from the beginning and there is a twist to the story, I couldn’t wait to find out how it was going to end. This book is part of a series but could be read as a stand alone. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

What a beginning, telling myself to stop and breathe before continuing.
It's another story in this series that is strong with Josie and Noah both survivors
from severe trauma. A trauma retreat in the snowy mountains, the place looks
more like an animal reserve. Adding a.snow storm and murder has Josie worried.
It will take her skills to solve without a team or phones.
Who came under false pretense, the tension, the twists are great in this plot.
Given arc by Net Galley and Bookouture for my voluntary review

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and publisher for the ARC of Face Her Fear.
I have been a huge fan of the Detective Josie Quinn series & author Lisa Regan for a couple years. All the books in her series are action packed & intense. Yet it’s the characters who I’ve fallen in love with even more. The series is well written & I’m never disappointed with any of the books in this series.

This book blew me away with its intense, action packed plot. I found myself holding my breath several times. We see even more depth to Josie. While Noah is going through his own life and death experience, we see even more of his love for Josie. The secondary characters really added to the plot. It’s an intense and emotional book that I absolutely loved. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

Thank you, NetGalley and Bookouture for the copy of Face Her Fear, the 19th Josie Quinn book by Lisa Regan. If you’ve never read a Josie Quinn book, you will want to after you read this book because all I can say is wow! To heal from recent events, Josie goes to a trauma retreat in the snowy mountains. What secrets are the other people at the retreat hiding? Why does Josie find hidden cameras? Who can Josie trust? I loved how this book took Josie out of her element, without her team and in an unfamiliar place. If you love locked room mysteries, well-defined characters, a story that is so well-written you can’t stop reading, and shocks galore, don’t miss this book! It’s my favorite Josie Quinn book (so far) and will be one of my top reads this year.

Josie Quinn is off to a trauma retreat to help her deal with PTSD. She gets into a squabble with Noah before going so she isn't in the best frame of mind. Once there she is so worried about the weather and being snowed in and keeps hearing Metts voice in her mind. There is little cell reception here and she doesn't like being isolated and out of contact with her team.

Josie's worst fears come true when they get snowed in. It only gets worse when they discover a dead body and she realizes that one of the people at the retreat is a murder. She is able to get a text out to Gretchen and she realizes that three people at this retreat aren't who they claim to be.

This is one crazy retreat where you try and stay alive.

This is the latest book in the Author's long running Detective Josie Quinn series and can in my opinion be read as a standalone

Josie's PTSD has reached such a stage that it is impacting both her work and home life - from her traumatic childhood , the horrors seen on the job and lately the death of a colleague - she knows she needs help .
Help that she hope will come from attending a specialist PTSD course run by a top notch specialist , held in a remote area without access to modern technology .
This sets the scene to the interactions between the various attendees , whose criteria for attending is severe trauma . But is everyone who attends who the say they are , do the have a hidden agenda ?
With the oncoming snow storm preventing them from leaving nerves amongst the group begin to show ......... now one of the group is found dead , murdered - why was she killed ? They have no way out , no help from the outside is forthcoming and it takes all of Josie's skills and instincts to find the killer and keep the group and herself safe .

This book is a intense read from start to finish , fast paced , full of twists and turns - who is trustworthy , who is not , who has a hidden agenda ....... who is the killer ??

This is the best book yet in the series - I was pleased that PTSD was shown to be a complex condition , one not easily labelled and treated with respect .
I look forward to reading more Josie Quinn books in the future ........... there is much more to come from Josie , her husband Noah and her team at work .

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

Alright, buckle up, because “Face Her Fear” by Lisa Regan takes you on a wild ride through the snowy mountains with Detective Josie Quinn. So, picture this: Josie, still reeling from some serious team trauma and marital discord, heads to a remote trauma retreat. But, surprise, surprise, peace and quiet aren’t on the menu.

We’re talking secrets darker than a mystery novel, a storm that could rival your worst nightmares, and Meg Cleary disappearing faster than your last scoop of ice cream. Spoiler alert: it’s not a spa day.

Things get real when Josie finds Meg’s lifeless self in the snow, and it’s not just a case of bad luck. Nope, we’re diving headfirst into a murder mystery, and Josie’s solo on this one – no team, no phone signal, nada. Just her, the snow, and a bunch of potential killers.

Oh, did I mention the hidden cameras? Yeah, someone’s been playing Big Brother in the retreat. Cue Josie’s paranoia hitting the roof. Another attendee vanishes, food’s running out, and it’s basically survival mode. Josie’s got to channel her inner Sherlock and unmask the killer before it’s game over for everyone.

Lisa Regan weaves a suspenseful tale that’s part whodunit, part survival thriller, and a dash of Josie Quinn’s signature badassery. It’s like Criminal Minds met Survivor in the snowy wilderness. So, if you’re into heart-pounding suspense, a touch of winter chill, and a detective who won’t back down, “Face Her Fear” needs to be on your reading list, ASAP. Trust me, you won’t be putting this one down until you know who’s behind the chilling mayhem. And, if you’re like me, you’ll never piece it together.

Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.

Josie is at a retreat in a remote area in the mountains, seeking healing from the trauma she has suffered in her life. She has regrets that she was not on good terms with Noah before she left.
Another person on the retreat is found dead, and, while it looks like she died of hyperthermia, Josie spots signs that the woman was murdered. The murderer must be one of the other patients.
They are snowed in, and there is sporadic telephone signal.
Josie has to solve this murder herself.

I just could not wait to read this!! Despite having 6-8 books on my TBR, I abandoned all for a long awaited Josie Quinn book!
I love Josie Quinn, and have followed her journey from book 1.
She is my hero. She has overcome so much, and has so much empathy. She is a top detective, clear thinking and methodical.

This I read in 2 sittings, I mean, I had to sleep, as I started the book late in the evening!

Taut, gripping, disturbing and addictive. Definitely one of my favourite Police procedural series! Roll on Book 20!! I can't wait!

Highly recommended for fans of good investigators.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book!

Tense and gripping, an addictive take on the "closed group" trope that twists and turns until the very end. Isolated in a blizzard when the disappearances start and lies start to unfold. Secrets everywhere, no one and nothing is as it seems. And yea, watch out for that bear too.

Absolutely outstanding! I loved how this one was so different yet so Josie. I love how we get to see into her heart more as well. She has had a road, and she still struggles and yet her strength and smarts are epic.

This series evolution is so good. The ups as well as the downs. And Josie may not quite see it but we do…Noah…sigh.

Josie has had a tough time but luckily she’s tougher! This gives us a glimpse of Josie that she tries to hide. It also has her facing a lot…alone. I can’t wait to see what is coming for Josie. Because she will find a way to deal with it all.
