This Sunrise Cove book has less drama and definitely more comedy than some of the others in the series. The banter between Anna and her sister Wendy was hilarious! Bedbound and pregnant, Wendy joins the adventure via earbud with her funny comments. Anna and Owen have obvious chemistry but spend a lot of the time pushing back afraid of commitment. In my opinion the first half of the book was a little slow with only the sister humor to save it, but I enjoyed the action in the end and their sweet HEA. Not my favorite Jill Shalvis book, but I still enjoyed it.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What a great read! Though this is book 6 in the series it can stand alone. Romance meets comedy meets mystery in Summer Escape. The story will keep you guessing and have you laughing out loud.

Anna has a private eye business. She never imagined her gig would be proving her father is not a thief. Wendy is Annas very pregnant sister who insists Anna clears her dad after she finds a coin. Not only is this case her main focus, but the coin was stolen from Owen's aunt. He wants the rest of the coins found. THis becomes a tough project as all these lives get meshed together over this one coin.
This is another great story. by Jill Shelves. She has a way of sucking me in from the first word. I loved this book.

Traveling With T’s Thoughts:
It’s no secret and I’ve said it a gajillion times- I LOVE Jill Shalvis books.
They just really are the best- snarky commentary, characters that are great, covers that are gorgeous and the HEA feeling I crave.
What I liked:
The cover is gorgeous. The blues, the flowers, the lush green = HEART EYES.
Wendy. Even on bed rest, she’s determined about things.
The chemistry between Anna and Owen. They have no reason to trust each other since they are on the opposite sides of this issue and yet the chemistry between them is HOT FLASH HOT.
Bottom line: Fans of Jill Shalvis will enjoy this book. If you are new to the snarky and sarcastic genius of the women characters in a Jill Shalvis book, enjoy!

This one had me laughing out loud at times. It was so funny and would pull your heartstrings at the same time. Owen is such a great character with the funniest dog ever while Anna is a strong and determined woman. They both meet when an accusation is made. They are now thrown together to solve a mystery. Will they be able to solve it and figure out what path in life they should take? I was given a copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

A heartwarming and delightful read. The romance between Anna and Owen is sweet and believable, filled with genuine chemistry and touching moments. The secondary characters add depth to the story , making the town feel vibrant and alive.
Many thanks to Avon and Harper Voyager and to Netgalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

4.5/5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
Thank you Jill Shalvis and @avonbooks for my #gifted copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
There’s just something about Jill Shalvis books that feel like coming home. They’re always heartwarming and comforting and this one was no exception.
This one really pulled me in as it was part family drama, part mystery/treasure hunt, and part romance. Ana and her sister Wendy’s dynamic was hysterical. They had me actually laughing out loud at their antics and bickering.
Following Ana’s journey to prove her father’s innocence in a decades-old robbery was the lighthearted mystery I needed. Add in Ana’s chemistry with Owen on their adventures and this was a home run. Owen was such a good guy who had every reason not to trust Ana and yet still wholeheartedly opened his heart to her.
As always Jill Shalvis knocked it out of the park with a feel-good story that still has great depth and character development. I highly recommend this one and all of her other books!

Jill Shalvis is one of my go to authors when I'm in the mood for a romance. There is just something about her books that never fails to sweep me away and this book was no exception. One of my favorite things about this book (besides Owen's dog) was the relationship between Anna and her sister Wendy. Wendy's antics were hilarious even if she was a bit over the top at times. You could feel the sisterly bond between the pages which I just loved. I also really enjoyed the mystery of the missing jewelry. Adding that element of suspense and mystery to the storyline was completely up my alley. It was like an extra bonus to an already enjoyable read. I also really enjoyed the developing relationship between Anna and Owen. The chemistry between them was great and easy to root for. I will say that this book was a bit instalove (or insta-lust) for my tastes - I like a bit more of a slower build in my romances but that is just me and my preferences. It didn't stop me from rooting for them as a couple though. All in all, this book was another enjoyable read from Shalvis.
Readers who enjoy romance or even romantic suspense (lighter on the suspense, heavier on the romance) should give this book a try. I think that this book would be perfect to get lost in over the summer. Four stars overall.

i didn’t get around to this read, i thought it was interesting and i tried but couldn’t get into it at the time. it was a lot more mystery esk than i thought it was going to be and really have to be in the mood to read something that’s not heavy romance/ romantasy. i would love to circle back down the road!

I loved this book! The Sunrise Cove series has been a favorite of mine, and book 6 was another enjoyable read. Although each book can be read as a standalone, they’re even better together.
This story added a bit of mystery, which isn’t typical for the series, but I thought it worked really well! The romance was still there, but the mystery element brought a fresh twist. I didn’t connect with the characters as much this time, yet the intrigue kept me hooked. The fast-paced ending left me wanting a little more depth, but overall, I’m eagerly awaiting the next installment. If you haven’t picked up this series yet, I highly recommend it!

Jill Shalvis is one of my favorites and this book was so much fun! She wrote something she's never really written before and I had a blast reading it! I can't wait for more!

I found the Summer Escape to be a quirky, beach read. I adore Jill Shalvis and everything she’s built in Sunrise Cove but this one was just okay for me. Anna and Owen were sweet but Wendy and her comic relief almost stole the show.
I’m looking forward to what comes next in Sunrise Cove.

Anna Moore has a few situations she's dealing with. Her older, bossy sister is pregnant with triplets, a gold coin brings a new job to her investigative business but might change her family forever, and she's sworn off men since she hasn't had much luck there either.
Until Owen shows up. He may have a stake in the gold coin, so he hires Anna to find the rest of the missing coins and another items that was stolen from his aunt. It doesn't take long for him to start falling for Anna and he's absolutely a total unicorn of a man. I just loved him. *sigh*
Anna does her best to fight her feelings for Owen, but seriously, he's pretty special. Once Wendy decides she wants her sister to be happy and Owen is the guy, there's plenty of meddling that can be both cute and annoying. I really enjoyed the relationship between the sisters as it seemed very realistic. They don't always get along.
I really enjoyed this book. Anna and Wendy are fun and the types of sisters I wish I'd had, and Owen and Hayden (Wendy's husband) are just sweet, considerate and extremely patient in juxtaposition to Wendy's craziness. I didn't want this to end because I really enjoyed these characters and their journey.
Overall, The Summer Escape was a feel-good read with some very likable characters. I didn't want to put this down, and I didn't want it to end. It was fun and yet had enough drama to keep things interesting. It works well as a standalone.

This wasn't a new favorite in the series, but I appreciate Jill giving us something different. It had a mystery spin that I wasn't expecting when I went into it. I think Jill can write anything but I need to be in the mood for a mystery or something suspenseful. That did pull me out of the story just a bit but it still delivered on exactly what I come to Jill for!

A good Jill Shalvis, although for me it was a little slower and ordinary than usual. I did like the added elements of mystery that her books don't often have. Great setting. Fun romance. Fans of Shalvis will enjoy it.

"The Summer Escape" seriously confused me at first. I almost didn't finish it because I thought it was a book I'd read before. However, all that was familiar was the circumstances and banter between the two sisters at the center of the story. Wendy still was on bedrest, feeling big as a house while pregnant with triplets. Her husband, Hayden, was still doing an awesome job keeping up with his wife's cravings and outbursts. And Anna was still distrustful of anyone outside her immediate family.
But when the integrity of their beloved father is called into question, Wendy must trust that Anna can get to the bottom of things on her own. And that part of the story was totally new to me. So I honestly have no idea why certain aspects of it were so incredibly familiar that I felt like I'd read entire passages of it before.
The other confusing thing was the title. I have no idea what it has to do with the actual plot...
Those things aside, I really enjoyed the story and am glad that I continued reading. The relationship between Wendy and Anna is loving and fun, and it was nice to see Anna open up a bit when Owen came along, intent on solving the same mystery she was working on. When they teamed up together, it made things that much more enjoyable, especially since the chemistry between them was zinging.
As always, Shalvis's characters shine and the storyline was really enjoyable.
Thank you to Jill Shalvis, Avon and Harper Voyager, and NetGalley for an advance review copy.

This was my first by Shalvis and while I thought it was ok, it wasn’t as great as I had anticipated. I found the dialogue trite and a tad cheesy and frankly didn’t really understand the concept of having the person accusing your family member of theft help you find out the truth. It seemed like a forced situation to make the book work. Overall, I can see the appeal for those who are true romcom lovers but as someone who dips their toe in from time to time, this one didn’t land quite like I had hoped.

I am a big fan of Jill Shalvis but this one left a bit to be desired. Things felt rushed and I just wanted more development between the characters. That said it was still a good read.

The Summer Escape ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5)
If you’re looking for a mystery/thriller with a dash of romance, The Summer Escape is the perfect pick! Jill Shalvis brings her signature style, blending fun characters with a plot full of twists. 🌀📖 Anna & Owen’s enemies-to-more journey had me hooked, and while some turns were predictable, it was still a page-turner. 📚✨

Two close sisters, triplets on the way, and a family legacy to protect. A high adventure seeker and his aunts family stolen heirlooms to find. The summer escape will take you on a journey of family, love, and a little thrill seeking. Definitely a wonderful book!
