I love these anthologies of short stories! While I have not read all of the authors, I really enjoyed sampling the new ones and hearing from old favorites. This collection is wonderful!

Thanks to NetGalley for making this audiobook version available to me. Full disclosure, I always read these collections when I come across them. While I don't like every story, I am always more than satisfied when I read an Otto Penzler collection.
This is the first time I have tried to read a "best of" mystery collection as an audiobook and I am pleased with how it was handled. The information about the stories is usually kept separate, but here the information about the authors immediately follows their stories. This was the best way to keep the information together.
The performers were quite good. Short stories can be difficult because they need to get a lot done quickly, but the selections were quite good overall and included some of my favorite mystery writers.

This book has a wide variety of different Mysteries within it each one was its own particular setting there was some sex or type scenes in it but they were not overly graphic because it was a variety some things were more interesting than others to me but it was in general a very good book and I would recommend it

This was fantastic! I admit that I have never heard of this series, but I am going to go back and read the other volumes for sure! So many great stories packed into this audiobook and the narrations were absolutely on point. I can wholeheartedly recommend The Mysterious Bookshop Presents the Best Mystery Stories of the Year 2023. Amor Towels definitely knows how to pick ‘em! his annual collection of short stories was surprisingly satisfying. With a little something for everyone, from Sherlock Holmes fans to police procedural groupies, the stories are little tastes of each author's work. Some of the authors are new to the field, and others are very experienced.

The audio is told by a cast, and the voicing was carefully chosen to meet the needs of the stories.

I really enjoyed the collection, and look forward to next year's performance!

A pleasant surprise. I often avoid mystery books because... well... they're just boring. I guess having a compilation of short mystery stories has remedied my complaint. There are a few gems in this book and evenly dispersed to keep the reader's attention throughout. I applaud the editors with their abilities to sift through massive amounts of pages to present the best stories for our enjoyment. Thank you for the chance to catch this one early!!!
