When I requested this book I was unaware that it was apart of a series, one that requires you to read the previous books for this one to make sense. I am unable to read all the previous books along with this one before the publish date. Therefore, I will rate this a fair 3/5 stars and will adjust the rating and review when I am able to read all the books in the series along with this one.

This is the fourth installment of the series, A Very Fine Muddle. I've enjoyed reading the last two books (I missed the first one) and this latest one certainly did not disappoint. Cordelia enters into her Season with only one main expectation in a suitor, and that is that he excels at sports and is the ultimate sportsman. When she meets Percival, he couldn't be farther than her ideal Corinthian. He is definitely more brains than brawns. He and Cordelia could not be less suited for each other, but they are inevitably pulled towards each other. They each consider changing their respective lifestyles to more meet that of the other try to make themselves into what they are not, he a sportsman and her more of an intellectual, so that they may be a better match for each other. It was such fun watching this relationship unfold, so many shenanigans and hijinks that just had me laughing along the way. The story pulled me in from the very start, and the little twists and turns kept me engaged till the end. I really enjoyed the clever banter between the two, so witty and entertaining. And the chemistry between them was such a great delight! Reading this installment has definitely left me wanting more, and I can't wait to continue the series. What a well-written and captivating addition!

Such a great book!

Cordelia starts her Season thinking she has an advantage over the other debutantes: she knows what kind of man she wants to marry with and won't take anyone else. The man will be a corinthian, he will have big bulky arms so he can carry her everywhere they go and he will love her acting skills. All of her older sisters got married in their first Season to the type of man they wanted. Yes, they needed a little bit of help, but it happened either way. So, finding the husband she wants shouldn't be a problem, right?

Percival is a Baron that knows his equal partner will be an intellectual, as he is. He is forced to make her aunt and her troupe of so call actresses part of his society of intellectuals. He is looking for a way to prevent this when he sees her, Lady Cordelia, she is beautiful, but she must be a scandalous young lady if she is part of his aunt's troupe, right?

These two start as weird acquaintances and somehow get to know each other that well that they end up together. Read this to know how they change their minds about each other and what they wanted for the rest of their lives.

Kate Archer has done it again! Such an engaging fun read, had me LOL several times and thoroughly enjoying the ridiculous situation the family encounters any time they travel any as a family.

This time, as the family make their way to London for the season, it was Cordelia Bennington's turn to find her Corinthian - a man with exceptional sportsman skills, with arms a tailor would weep when trying to encase them in sleeves (due to their tremendous circumference acquired through various athletic endeavours!)

Very un-Corinthian like is Percival Granger, Baron Harveston, a very learned man who spends a good amount of this time focused on his club, The Society of Serious Literary Examination, SSLE and their various intellectual discussions. The two meet and at first neither is impressed with the other. However, through a series of events that have them thrown together, they finally realise that what one lacks in intellectual abilities, the other makes up for in emotional intelligence! A perfect couple indeed.

Another hilarious, tongue-in-cheek story of the Bennington clan and their supporting cast of servants, pets and animals picked up along the way.

Another wonderful book in Kate Archer's, A Very Fine Muddle Series. The Bennington's are a close family with lots of love and support for each other. As a family they are extremely happy and have none of the cynicism that others in the ton may have or exhibit.
It is Cordelia's turn for a season and she has decided her future husband should be athletic, fit, and a Corinthian.
When Cordelia meets Percival Granger, Baron Harveston, he is hosting The Society for Serious Literary Examination. Percival is not athletic at all.
This is a fun book with amusing animals, a unique aunt and butler, and good fun throughout.

Sweep Me Up, Baron. My fellow readers. Perhaps I am a sentimental sap, but I must say this. I simply loved Cordelia, her sisters and her aunt. They brought so much light, laughter and closeness to this wonderful story.
How could so much humor, goodness and goodwill take over a story. The humor among the characters is bloody amazing. I laughed and guffawed so many times. I was surprised by the comedy that jumped off the pages. The comedy and the timing of the dialogue among the characters was very superb.
What a great way to keep the story moving. The romance, I felt that was a bit slow, as it went along in the book. The story was great. I for one had a blast reading a treasure of a story. I give this book two snaps and a, Earl of Westmont: Tattleton brace yourself.
Juliet has acquired a gerbil. She has named him Horace. Tattleton: Great Scott! Has the child have no heart? I feel lightheaded.

Kate Archer has become one of my favorite authors. This book and series is funny, outrageous and a wonderful holiday from life. (Even though it seems to hit a little too close to home)
Gordy has in mind exactly what type of gentleman she will get. She soon realizes that is not exactly what she needs. Her Corinthian is actually the matchmaker to bring her true love. Awesome book and tale!.

Full of smile inducing twists, witty tangents and cleverly engaging fun turns. In this latest installment, that's all heart, mischievous goat antics, sweet connection & the most uniquely endearing proposal ever!
Oooh, I really loved this one; my favourite in the series so far!
For me, Archer got the balance just right in SWEEP ME UP, BARON. The shenanigans and highjinks afoot embellished and hyped up the emotional connection I had to Percival and Cordelia and them in turn to each other, as they sparkled with a sweet, quiet, chemistry on their quest to turn themselves into the perfect, worthy, match for each other. Crafting the tale into an emotionally more rounded, enjoyably statisfying one, with - dare I say - a more believable air to the misunderstandings and conflicting uncertainty of feeling crackling from them, that really sucked me into their fate, had me invested and rooting wholeheartedly for their happiness as a duo.
Shedding a new light on the supportive Bennington tribe as a unit, finally making me love their degree of kooky, seeing them for the fun, supportive family they truly are at heart.
Cordelia had this instinctual keen perception, deep set sensitivity and compassion for people that radiated in every action coupled with an endearing warmth and easy likeability that really gripped me and drew me in. Especially as she clashed on first greet with the intellectually intimidating Percival. Making them grow as individuals as they reassessed who they thought they wanted as a spouse, altering and remoulding perspectives, in the best possible way, to attract the one person they thought they wouldn't be compatible with, yet surprisingly couldn't stop thinking about...each other.
Looking forward to the next installment, with more Bennington muddles and mayhem as the last sister, our budding poet, gears up for her very own 'ode to a season'!

Lighthearted, frothy, and entertaining, this romance follows the adventures of the eccentric Bennington sisters and their even more eccentric aunt and chaperone. Cordelia enjoys all the dramatics that come with acting out a Shakespearean drama, whilst Percival Granger is horrified at her choice of literature. Nevertheless, there is an attraction between them, and they both try to conform to one another's requirements for the perfect match. Added into the mix are a goat, a parrot, and frustrated butlers. Percival's proposal is hilarious, but the couple do finally find middle ground. I received a copy of this amusing romance as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Percival and Cordelia are fun and just the right amount of challenge and pretty much perfect, as is this book. Their wholesome cinnamon-roll romance didn't feel too sweet or too rushed, with a bit of dare added in that propelled both their relationship and the series' arc perfectly. The whole thing left me with a smiling heart and made me impatient for the next.

Oh, I do love the Bennington family. They are a little eccentric, thanks mainly to they lady who stepped up to help raise them, but they are a very happy family. That love for each other has shaped the way they see the world around them.
Each of the sisters have their own book in this series, but I think they are best read in order. All of the characters are so much fun, even the household staff who have more than their share of excitement. This story shows there is more than one way to see the world.
I have loved every book in this series and can't wait for the next one.

Sweep Me Up, Baron by Kate Archer is the fourth in the Very Fine Muddle series about a family of very different women (the Bennington’s) who, upon the death of their mother was raised by the very eccentric Miss Eloises Mayton, who dress in widow’s weeds, told of outrageous stories of her past in which several suitors came to tragic ends, and was a fan of Gothic romance, which she had been reading aloud to the girls for years. Three were now married and that left two. This year was Cordelia’s turn. So, off the went to London for the season, a trip normally taking two days, made in only thirteen days. A linear trip for the Bennington family. Along the way they adopted a baby goat, imperiously named Lord Darling, Marquess of Basingstoke. Upon their arrival in London, their brother, Lord Darden joined them. Used to his sisters and Miss Mayton he took everything with a grain of salt. When Miss Mayton informed him that she and Cordelia would be joining Lady Rawlins’ informal acting troupe and would be joining them at Lord Harveston’s meeting of the Society for Serious Literary Examination, he simply rolled his eyes.

This was a classic tale of two people, who on the surface, had very little in common, but once the attraction was confirmed, each made every effort to turn themselves into the person the other was looking for. Thus, Cordelia started reading more highbrow offerings although she retained little of it and Harveston made every effort to gain some athletic skills. It was a humorous story watching this relationship develop. The characters are different and very genial. The plot was a little different, but not unexpected for the Benningtons. A well-written story with plenty of diversions along the path to true love, also not unexpected for the Benningtons.

This is the fourth book in the series & I must admit I’ve found the series to be a bit over the top but this book made me laugh & I couldn’t put it down. I really liked both Percival & Cordelia & loved their endeavours to change themselves, I thoroughly enjoyed it & was routing for the couple to find their HEA

Well Worth A Read!

A fun witty read with the fourth Bennington sister Cordelia and her search for her perfect Corinthian who would love her forever!

Percival didn’t know what had hit him when he met Cordelia through his Aunt, she wasn’t what he would be looking for when he started to search for a wife but for some reason, he couldn’t get her out of his mind!

Ooh this is such a fun, romantic read with lots of favourite and fun characters from previous books in the series and new ones which will make you giggle at the same time as routing for a HEA for Cordelia and Percival.
A wonderful read, light-hearted and witty to make you smile!

I loved this historical romance. I read it in a day. The setting was perfectly done. I loved the romance so much. I would highly recommend this book.
