After the first two volumes, which focused on Shannon (and were a huge hit), Chloé Walsh brings us the story of Joey and Aoife! And what a kick!

We follow the evolution of Joey and Aoife's story from their twelfth birthday to their eighteenth... It's an emotional roller-coaster ride: smiles on one page, tears on the next, butterflies in the stomach, horror... It's not a relaxing read, but the story is gripping, hard-hitting and addictive. You can't help but get attached to Joey, feel his pain and want to help him. Aoife is a lovely, dependable character! Clearly, these two stole my heart! I took a few days to get into Redeeming 6, because I'm going to cry a lot!

In short, an excellent third volume

This book was everything! Aiofe and Joey's is heatbreaking and beautiful. Seeing Joey's story come to life after seeing it in Shannon's POV gives a whole new look at him as a character. Chloe Walsh is truly a talented writer.

I did not expect to love this book more than Shannon and Johnny but here we are. Joey Lynch is an angel and he has the capability to break my heart in an instant. He just has the most complex mind and I don’t know how to process it without crying.

Aoife is probably the strongest, most badass FMC I’ve ever read about - she is perfect. The banter between her and Joey is 👌🏼 I would read 100 more 600-page books about her without getting bored.

This isn’t a fluffy romance, it’s full of toxic, broken people and relationships. I don’t think I’ve ever understood the complexities of a domestic situation as well as I did while reading this book. Chloe Walsh brings you right into these characters minds and you feel all the things they feel and it is heart wrenching.

I know these people aren’t real but I really feel like they are because my heart is broken 💔 it’s THAT good.

NetGalley Review — my rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
.
“Saving 6” is the third installment in the Boys of Tommen series by @authorchloewalsh which is out now (I definitely recommend reading in order!)
.
And once again, Chloe Walsh knows just how to string my heart along for an absolute whirlwind of a ride! Buckle up & head back for the beginning of Joey and Aoife’s love story (Joey is the older brother of Shannon, the first two installments’ FMC).
.
These are absolutely long long books and there’s just not a moment I wish wasn’t there. I loved their slow paced story. I will say I wasn’t as attached to the secondary characters as I was with the first two installments but I think that was the point - Joey and Aiofe’s love is an all-consuming, take your breath away kind of love. It’s heartbreaking while it’s happening. I found myself clutching my chest because I was so sad.
.
Ate. That. Up.

Big thanks to @read_bloom for the ARC!

Incredibly raw, gritty, and personal are the words I would use to describe this book.

The level of intimacy the author has with her characters is astounding. They feel like real people, with real lives, and feelings. In Saving 6, Chloe Walsh decides to completely steal my heart by giving me BANTER!!!! You can’t imagine how much I loved reading about two stubborn people bickering like an old couple. I didn’t even care that it was a bit too insta-love to be a super slow burn. This book is AMAZING if you love dialogues, banter, slow burn, sassy heroines and bad boys that are actually too good for their own good.

One of the most heart wrenching, beautiful, and captivating stories. Joey Lynch comes from a rough home life. On one of the worst days of his life he meets Aoife who turns his world upside down. From year 1 and beyond, Aoife becomes Joey's rock through everything he is going through. With 4 younger siblings that depend on him and no help, this book will pull at your heart strings. This book captures so much emotion and turmoil that you will not want to put the book down. You will be at odds with Joey and Aoife's relationship while laughing at the characters banter at the same time. Set in the early 2000's Ireland, this book makes you feel like you are living right alongside the characters.

I wasn't holding my breath the way I did while reading my all-time favorite romance Binding 13 and Keeping 13. I can't help making comparisons: Saving 6 was like a light breeze to Binding/Keeping 13 maelstrom (emotion-wise, the latter swept me away and the former left me almost cold). I found Saving 6 considerably less addicting, I felt no urgency reading this story.

OH MY GOD. THE ANGST, THE EMOTION, and the character growth. Chloe Walsh delivers a novel full of utter swoon and heart wrenching moments. Joey has so, so much on his plate dealing with his family issues and balancing school and rugby. Aoife Molloy is the perfect counter balance to Joey and never backs down and isn't afraid to call him out on his BS.

Dual POV, High School Romance, Spicy, Angsty, Forced Proximity

One thing I love about the character of this book is Aoife's being a woman who chases every single time like girlies/authors have the men chase these girls hard; we want to see Penelope and Collin Bridgerton's moment here. We want to see Joey begging for her. Anyway, Aoife is a character who pretty much knows her own worth (tying back to wanting men to chase her), and Joey realizes that she is the one who cares about her. I like a little angsty in a book, and this book delivers it to an extent, but sometimes, if it drags a little too long, it gets annoying. Especially when Joey is annoying and keeps convincing himself that he does not deserve Aoife.

After reading Binding and Keeping 13, I knew I wanted to read Joey and Aoife’s story. Seeing the side of Joey that you don’t get to see in the previous books makes you feel so much for him. There are a lot of dark elements in this book that Joey has to deal with (like drug addiction, alcohol addiction, DA and SA) and it time jumps from when Joey starts school in 1999 to his last year of school in 2004. Aoife ended up being his saving grace and I loved how she stuck by his side no matter what bad choices he made. Highly recommend.

This book absolutely broke my heart. I felt bad for Shannon but I feel so bad for Joey who was forced to be a father as a teenager. Who is now struggling with addiction in order to deal with his life. I think addiction was portrayed very realistically in this book. I also think the love between two people when one of them is an addict was also portrayed well. I need to read the next one because I need Joey to be ok. The writing in these books is so amazing it just makes you need to keep reading

6 stars - Another amazing book! Joey and Aoife make an amazing couple and they hold a special place in my heart. I enjoyed reading Joey's perspective on the events that occurred in the previous two books. This book made me cry multiple times. Joey is a beautifully written character and I felt deeply for him. I truly hope he gets a happy ending because he deserves it. He is genuinely one of the best big brothers out there.

This was one rollercoaster of a book! I cried a handful of times which I don’t do often while reading books. There’s only a few books that have successfully made me cry.

Chloe Walsh’s ability to write a story that makes you want to cry and laugh simultaneously is seriously impressive!

Saving 6 is such a complex story. Aoife and Joey struggle with their own problems but they always had each others backs. Especially Aoife. She ALWAYS believed in Joey, she never gave up on him and loved him unconditionally and I just love her so much. As Joey said: “Aoife Molloy had a heart of gold.” She’s feisty and strong, has nice legs and a heart of gold!!

The way Joey struggled with his addiction and his whole home life situation was heartbreaking. I want to give him the absolute BIGGEST hug in the world. Though he was struggling, he was the best big brother to his siblings. He always put them first and even though his mother would treat him like shit he would always protect her and that just shows what a man he is. I’m not saying that I like Marie Lynch because…yeah.

I loved the structure of this book. I loved reading about them through the years and seeing how their friendship blossomed into something more.

My only critique is the ending. It ended so abruptly. It's supposed to be a cliffhanger type of ending but that didn't really feel like a cliffhanger???

Anyway, this book has definitely made its mark and it’s a story that will stick with me for a long time.

I still have the second book left and I am so ready for Aoife and Joey to get their happy ending.

✨BOOK REVIEW✨

Saving 6 by Chloe Walsh

(Book 3 in the Tommens series!) 💋

I feel like with any book series you read, you usually tend to fall in love with whatever characters are in “book 1” and then when you are done you’re skeptical on whether the next book can live up to the obsession you have with the first characters. This was me after reading book 1 and 2 and loving Johnny and Shannon’s love story. And honestly the bromance of Johnny and Gibsie. I wanted Gibsie next and I wasn’t as “excited” to read Joey and Aiofe’s story as much until @lit_with_kristen told me Joey’s books were top notch emo. She was not wrong!!

Joey is just a doll baby and you wish you could just sit and hold him. The things that he has to shoulder and endure are heartbreaking. I legit battled with putting this one down so that I could take a breather from all the things in his life, while also being very much addicted and unable to stop.

Aoife is pure gold and one of my new favorite book characters. Her spark and sass and ability to just say exactly how she feels is hard not to love.

10/10 — I rated books 1 & 2 of this series 5 stars and I loved this book so much more if that tells you anything.

Addiction and drugs are heavy in this one and it is just so emotional and sad. I love you, Joe!

Also I’d be doing you a disservice if I didn’t tell you that the banter is A+ between Joey & Aoife 💕🔥

Published Feb 20th, last week!! Be reminded that these paperbacks from @read_bloom are peak level floppiness and 1000 stars alone.
