I really enjoyed Your Perfect Life by author Victoria Jenkins.
This novel was great and gripped me straight away.
We meet main characters Anna and Siobhan who recently have re-established a relationship after many years of not being in each others lives.
Siobhan appears to have an almost glamourous life style and she offers Anna her spare room in her time of need. Thinking she will not out stay her welcome, Siobhan soon realises that she was wrong to think that in the first place.
Anna appears to be slowly turning herself into Siobhan and she starts to question if there sudden "meeting" was actually on accident. There are some secrets that are about to come to question and the story really starts to set alight.
I really enjoyed the format of the novel and the characters were fun and great to read about.
Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Your Perfect Life by Victoria Jenkins was my first book by this author. It was a good story with great character building. I enjoyed the twists.
Loved the premise, gave me Single White Female vibes, but with a twist of being blood relatives (cousins). Anna believes that Siobhan has the perfect life, and slowly becomes obsessed with taking over her life and becoming her. Siobhan feels sorry for Anna when she becomes desolate and takes her into her home, just as Anna wants. Things become weird, there’s a stalker, there are secrets, there are revelations … The story itself was GOOD, the twists magical and unseen. There is a victory and a truth revealed which offers closure, with another twist at the very end.
However, for some reason this book didn’t “grab” me as others with similar plot lines have done. I would recommend it to others who like this type of story, but it’s not one I’m jumping to tell others about.
I found Your Perfect Life to be a story kind of like Single White Female, involving cousins. Both have some dark secrets in their past. These secrets culminate in a conclusion that’s nothing short of twisted.
Thank you, Victoria Jenkins, Bookouture,
& netgalley for my copy! All opinions are my own.
Fantastic, twisty, unpredictable and kept me on the edge of my seat, I couldn't put it down and I didn't want too
Your Perfect Life is my fourth book by Jenkins and my favourite to date. It's fast paced, full of suspense and highly addictive.
The characters are dark, unlikeable and all have hidden agendas. You always know when a book is based around secrets and lies that you're in for a wild ride, full of twists, turns and Single White Female vibes.
I couldn't put the book down and read it across an afternoon.
Anna is jealous of her cousin Siobhan. They reconnect and just like when they were younger, Anna thinks that Siobhan has the better life. A perfect life actually. Anna begins stalking Siobhan’s social media pages. Before long, Anna begins the process of literally moving into Siobhan's life. In fact, when she appears to be in dire straights, Siobhan invites her to become her roommate. Perfect.
As children, the relationship between Anna and Siobhan definitely had its issues. Anna never seemed good enough, not to Siobhan and not to Siobhan's mother. Now that they are adults, perhaps things can be different.
One of them is hiding something from her past. At the end of things, only one might be left alive. Who is it that has a huge secret, and how could the result of that secret possibly life-threatening? I will leave it up to the reader to find these answers, all while watching closely the actions of both Anna and Siobhan.
Victoria Jenkins does not disappoint with this book, especially when she manages to write characters that you simply don't like. Or trust. But that is exactly what makes this story work. You want to see what happens and that is exactly what keeps you riveted to this book page after page.
If you want a captivating story, a story that keeps you glued to your book, because Your Perfect Life proves to be anything but.
Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.
Your perfect life by Victoria Jenkins and here is my review.
Siobhan looks picture perfect from the outside. Great job, respected by her peers, a nice quiet life.
She hasn’t seen her cousin Anna in years but a chance meeting at the library has them both back in each others lives and Siobhan is feeling vulnerable after someone she works with is murdered and she finds their body, she invites Anna to stay with her while she finds another job.
Siobhan feels like she is being watched and when someone calls her work telling her, her time is up, she remembers the night of the fire and now she can’t even seem to outrun her past.
Whoever is trying to scare her, already knows too much and things are getting deadly.
As far as thrillers go, this one was pretty dang good. The book is told from both Siobhan’s and Anna’s POV. You think you know what both these women are about but as the book progresses you realize you know nothing or what you think you know… is wrong. I love it when books wrong foot me.
There are so many hidden secrets and intrigue in this book with never a dull moment. I always enjoy books that have more twists than the spaghetti junction. The writing is great, the pace is steady and speeds up a little in the right spots.
I definitely would recommend this book to anyone who loves a twisty thriller.
4.5 stars
Thank you @nethalley and bookouture for my gifted copy
BOOKWORMS REVIEW: Cousins Siobhan and Anna reconnect by accident(or was it?)in a library after many years. We see that Siobhan has the life- the job,the looks, the money & friends! Anna has just lost her job and is struggling. Siobhan offers Anna a place to stay with her until she gets back on track. Seeing that Siobhan is so successful in life,Anna starts to emulate her in every way...right down to her haircut. Think of the movie 'Single White Female' and you'll get the vibe. We watch as things unfold and both women spiral..leaving us wondering which one is the actual villain in this story. Theres more to both women than meets the eye. A good read that will keep you invested.
With thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture and Victoria Jenkins for an ARC In exchange for my review.

I loved reading this book, i didn’t expect not to as all this authors books are amazing. This is one of my favourite authors by far.
I couldn’t put this book down.. this is what I call a real page turner. There are so many twists and turns all the way through plus it has a great unexpected ending.
The characters were good, the story itself was has plenty of suspense and the style of writing was perfect.
I would highly recommend this book and all the authors other psychological thrillers to anyone who likes reading this genre.
Thank you netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a honest review.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC (Advance Reader Copy) of Your Perfect Life by Victoria Jenkins. This was not a favourite of mine. It started quite slowly and took a while before I became engaged. Then it fell flat again shortly after. I was able to predict quite a few so called surprises so I found it too predictable. I like lots of twists and turns. A 3 star rating from me. So not a big hit for me but I am able to see that others may like it.
Does anyone really have a perfect life? Anna seemed to think Siobhan, her estranged cousin had and she wanted that life for her and would stop at nothing to get it, including being her!
This was a great book to read, it kept my interest throughout, the pace was perfect and the twists were fantastic. Just when you think you know what is happening or about to happen there is a plot twist!
I didn’t know which character to trust, I liked and loathed them equally.
The ending left things so open like it wasn’t quite finished. Maybe a sequel will happen?! I hope so!
Good psychological thriller. It took me some time to understand what's going on. Didn't know how it will turn out until the end. Pace is okay and plot is unexpected but engaging. Siobhan and Anna both have secrets and painful past experiences. Their dual point view add layers. Characters are mostly unreliable. Overall, a good thriller. Recommended. Thanks a lot to Netgalley and the publisher for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Thanks to #NetGalley and #Bookouture for the book #YourPerfectLife by #VictoriaJenkins. This suspenseful book will leave you shocked. Revenge and obsession lead you up to a shocking plot twist.
I was immediately intrigued by the relationship between Anna and Siobhan and when I started to learn more about their dynamic I was super disturbed. The first of many shocking twists came when I hit the 20% mark and the revelations and twists kept coming until the very bitter end and I was left reeling when I finished, when all I could say was “damn…”
All of Victoria Jenkins books I have read have been an excellent read and her latest one Your Perfect Life, was another excellent book. Victoria you are a genius! the way she writes all her books, she just pulls you in and it's always hard to put your kindle/book down once you start to read it. This book was no different! I couldn't turn the pages quick enough, I was hooked from the very first few pages till the end.
‘ Your life is perfect.’ Anna says, smiling across my dining table. But something in her tone and the glint in her hazel eyes lets me know the comment is laced with jealousy. I sip my wine and smile nicely! Soon she’ll learn that having this life costs more than she could ever imagine…
Everyone thinks I’m living the perfect life. I have my dream job, a stunning apartment, and glamorous friends. But, who know nothing about my dark past.
So when I run into Anna, who I haven’t seen in eighteen years brings back memories. Everything about her reminds me of the life I’ve left behind, the life I want to forget, bury so deep so it will never surface again!!! But as her eyes fill with tears and she tells me she’s lost her job and can’t pay her rent, I reluctantly offer her my spare room.
But, Anna promises she won’t stay for long. Then, I notice she’s wearing my designer clothes and has dyed her hair to match my exact shade of chocolate brown. As I watch her curled up on my sofa, my blood runs cold. I start to scream inside!!!!
Why did Anna really come back into my life by chance?
What is she hiding?
WoW........Page turn I want to learn more about these characters.
I highly recommend this book......Another 5 star book to read!
Big Thank you so much Netgalley and Bookouture and Victoria Jenkins for this ARC.
Your Perfect Life By Victoria Jenkins is a is a gripping , entertaining, psychological read about two look-alike cousins who after being estranged for quite some time happen on chance encounter .It is a fast paced well written book with lots of twists and turns and a surprise ending that I didn't see coming
I would like to thank Bookouture & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review
Thank you to Netgallery and the publisher for this ARC. I love all of Victoria Jenkin’s novels and this one was no different. I was hooked from the very first page there was a lot of suspense and many twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat! The publication date is the 19th Jan 2024.
My favourite characters were Anna and Siobhan as I found Anna’s character to be a bit unhinged! I love the idea of this book and thought it was extremely clever.
Overall, a gripping thriller that I would highly recommend everyone reads!
A terrific thriller about a game of matching wits.
At first I thought it was a reincarnation of the movie Single White Female because Anna lived in the shadow of Siobhan until I read further and realized it was much much better than that.
The link between the two women goes back to their childhood. Anna thinks she’s got the goods on Siobhan when really Siobhan has plotting Anna’s downfall.
It’s an enthralling read of maneuvering, murder, and matrilineal messiness.
Thank you to Netgalley and Bookoture for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
This book is an easy read and a good thriller for someone new to the genre. The plot moved at a quick pace and kept my interest throughout the novel. I will note that I was able to guess the twists before I reached them at the end; however the end came to a reasonable result that I was content with. The main tropes here are family secrets, lies, and crime.
