The story of cousins whose lives come back together but with the backdrop of secrets, murder and jealousy. Far fetched but very readable!

Victoria Jenkins is one of those authors whose books I'll automatically read without even knowing the synopsis and this story did not disappoint! It was dark, twisty and so suspensful. Loved it!!

Siobhan has the perfect life, Anna is willing to do whatever it takes to have Siobhan’s life she thinks she deserves. But when Siobhan starts getting mysterious packages sent to her, and sinister flowers delivered to her at work, is everything about her life as perfect as Anna first thought?

This book switches between Siobhan’s story & Annas, taking twists and turns that keep you wanting more. Not all is as it seems, and each chapter pulls you in deeper. Great read and a perfect book for my first book of 2024

An enjoyable enough, if far-fetched, read about cousins Anna and Siobhan, who grew up together and have recently reconnected after years apart.

We hear from each in turn, and it's safe to say there are hidden agendas galore. And of course mysterious happenings in the past which continue to haunt the present.

Siobhan is the elder of the cousins and her life appears more successful; Anna is a bit of a mess who hero worships and aspires to emulate her cousin. But is that all that's going on? (Spoiler: no.) There's definitely more here than meets the eye, including murder, stalking and threats. Ultimately it's all a bit unbelievable, but engaging enough.

An author that never fails to deliver a great read and a punchy taught psychological thriller made this a good book to change years with!
An intimate and dark look at cousins and how one will stop at nothing to get the other one’s life….but this comes with pitfalls and dangers no one, least of all someone obsessed would have ever imagined
There are lies, secrets, past wrongs and great character dialogue and thoughts, if you enjoy this kind of book you will find this pretty flawless tbh
Ticks every box and adds more to each one
Very enjoyable

Reminded me so much of the last Mrs Parrish which I loved. I love a dual POV for thrillers as it gives you so much insight and adds to the mystery of it all. I love a mindblowing twist and this had that! These characters add so much suspense and drama and I love the fact they are cousins which adds another layer to them.

An amazing psychological thriller and a must read

Anna wants Siobhan’s life and will do everything she can to manipulate situations.

Siobhan has a past that she wants to stay in the past, but someone is stalking her and sending her things.

The story is told with each chapter being either Siobhan or Anna’s point of view. As each chapter is read, we learn more about these two women and the lives they lead.

This was an interesting concept and to be honest, I wasn’t a big fan of either character. Neither of them are particularly likeable, but I still wanted to know more.

An intriguing plot that also had many twists to keep you guessing right to the end.

My thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

Victoria Jenkins has woven a gripping tale in this suspenseful masterpiece that had me hooked from the very first page. I devoured the book in just two days, finding it impossible to put down!

The story revolves around Siobhan and Emily, who reconnect after 18 years of lost contact. Despite being cousins with a shared history, their current lives couldn't be more different. Siobhan enjoys a successful radio career, while Emily is still grappling with the aftermath of a broken marriage. As Siobhan extends a helping hand by offering Emily a place to stay, her life takes unexpected and disastrous turns. Suspicion grows as Siobhan notices Emily's attempts to mirror her in every aspect, from appearance to wardrobe. What secrets lie in their shared past? Can Siobhan trust Emily, and how do past consequences continue to shape their present and future?

It's a challenge to discuss this book without revealing its central secret, but I can confidently say that the use of diverse character perspectives and clever twists in each chapter provided a genuine thrill. Jenkins proves herself a master of the psychological thriller genre, delivering narratives that are both believable and straightforward yet incredibly effective and engaging. The unexpected twist in the story genuinely shocked me, defying my usual ability to predict plot turns in this genre. That unpredictability only deepened my love for this compelling book.

This was my first book by this author and I didn't know what to expect. Luckily it surprised me in a positive way.

The beginning of "Your perfect life" was a bit slow, to be honest, but it was necessary for character and backstory building. It got better by every chapter and it definitely was a gripping, fast paced read, chapters set with two POV's.

It may seem everything is clear already from the beginning, however you can't be sure of that and you still want to find out what happens in the end anyway. I liked the layers of this story and that's just what I like about a good thriller, it's filled with intrigue, suspense and messy relationships. It actually even gave me some "Girl with a dragon tattoo" vibes in the final chapters and there were some similarities with "Her perfect twin"

Despite of the slow start I really enjoyed this book and will probably read more books from Victoria Jenkins.

OK WOW , Make sure to add to your TBR Right NOW !!

I thought I was back in 1992 as this book gave me Single White Female Vibes .

This is the first time reading this author and I have to say it wont be my last !

Your Perfect Life was a gripping , fast paced read with short chapters set with two POV's which was easy to follow.

" I know Siobhan . I know her better than she realizes. There are two types of people in the world: those who watch , and those who want to be watched . I'm a watcher . I prefer to blend in the background and fade among the shadows , somewhere hard to see but easy to see from ."

You have Anna the cousin who recently lost her job who shows up in Siobhan's life out of nowhere and then you have Siobhan who has it all the looks, the career , the money, the clothes and her co-worker Carrie has just been murdered ... Siobhan invites Anna to stay with her while Anna gets her life back together , but what Siobhan doesn't realize is that maybe the life Anna wants is right in front of her !

We watch as these two unhinged woman's lives spiral out of control and get crazier and wilder , who are doing anything and everything to protect their secrets and as readers we are always second guessing who is the real villain in this story ??

Your Perfect Life is full of :
Suspense
Unhinged characters
Secrets
Great Narration
Surprise Ending !!!

Thank you so much Netgalley and Bookouture and Victoria Jenkins for this advanced Digital Copy !!

Wow! What a convoluted mess this book is, but somehow it all makes sense. Who even thinks like this?? If you want a book that you can’t put down, with twists and turns everywhere and characters that you may or may not be able to trust, then this is the book for you. I will definitely be reading more books by this author.

“Your Perfect Life” is filled with suspense and intrigue, capturing readers’ attention from page one to the last page. Through its intricate characters, twisting plot, and the soul of a haunted past that, bit by bit, comes to light, it is easy for the author to tell this story with consummate skill about deception and revenge so that they can keep their perfect lives.

She has an excellent life. Then, all of a sudden, Anna comes back. That was one major cause to go ahead and make this movie now. In the process of this, the tension gradually grows,, and you begin to wonder what Anna is after and why she has kept her her whereabouts a secret. These two points, along with the chilling anonymous phone call and a protagonist haunted by tragic childhood memories that imperil her present state of affairs, combine to tell an even more gripping story.

“Your Perfect Life” is a thrilling roller coaster of suspense as unexpected twists and turns ensue. For those who enjoy psychological thrillers and like to explore the darker side of human nature, it makes for a compelling read. The story shows that the past can never be escaped, and secrets always find a way to return to us. This book is worth adding to your reading list.

Thank you to Bookouture, and NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this book.

Your Perfect Life is a fast-paced, gripping psychological thriller. Estranged cousins, Anna and Siobahn, randomly run into each other at the library. Neither realizes exactly what this encounter will lead to. A few weeks later, Anna not only is living with Siobahn but also is taking over her life (to the point that people think Anna is Siobahn out in public). What is Anna's end goal? Who is the true villain in this story?

Your Perfect Life is fast-paced with plenty of unexpected twists. The story is told through alternating POVs, which adds to the overall plot. While I enjoyed the book, I found the ending to be a bit rushed and a bit too unrealistic. For me, the ending (which I don't want to give away any spoilers) took away from the rest of the book and is the reason I can only give this book three stars. However, I will definitely read more from this author and will likely still recommend Your Perfect Life to fans of psychological thrillers.
