I absolutely loved this coloring book. There is something so fun about chickens and the fact that the book has some pages in the style of a classic adult coloring book and some in a more landscape-y way is a bonus for me.

Gorgeous book! This book is filled with gorgeous drawings for you to make beautiful. Definitely geared towards teenagers and adults. I can't wait to see a physical copy!

I'll be honest, I request adult coloring books from NetGalley because I like to preview them before adding them to my collection. Adult coloring books are a fantastic way to relax. When they are intricate enough, you can get to a state of meditation while working on a picture.
I never would have thought of making an entire book of chicken pictures, but this book is fantastic. The pictures are varied and detailed, and the opposite pages have fantastic, intricate patterns. I highly recommend this for people who use coloring books to relax

Fabulous chickens...it sounds silly. I didn't think this could be real, so I simply had to download it. My apologies to the artists and the publisher--the illustrations are stunning. I'm fact, there isn't a dud in the book. Both sides of each page are illustrated, with one side in black and the other in a softer tone. I appreciate this detail as it doesn't scream at my brain to color both sides. I sometimes use markers, so bleed through could be a concern. I plan to buy a physical copy of this book so I can color pages and use them as decor for my Kindle.

Beautiful drawings! These chickens will be fun to color. I like that the back of the pages have a pattern you can color as well. A neat gift idea for the chicken enthusiast!

This coloring book is beautifully designed. I loved majority of the coloring pages, which is rare because I find these kinds of books too intense to color, but because it was chickens and did not involve the entire background, it was nice.

As an audiobook reader, I often find myself needing to do something with my hands while listening to a book. One of my favorite activities in these situations is coloring.

As an avid bird watcher and backyard flock owner, this is a perfect option! The designs are excellent for a number of drawing/coloring styles and mediums and I cannot wait to color these pages!

I couldn't help myself. I had to check this one out!! I'm a big fan of coloring books and honestly wondered how an entire coloring book was going to filled with just chickens, but there is such a variety in the style of artwork found in this book. I love that there are pages with smaller illustrations and pages where the chicken is the main feature.

Definitely a fun one to check out!!

I love my chickens, so I HAD to pick up the Fabulous Chickens Coloring Book.

And it is exactly what it says on the cover - a colouring book full of chooks in all levels of fabulousness. We have realistic chickens, detailed mandala-filled chickens, plain chickens, hens, chicks and so many roosters, and even a zombie chicken in the pages. While the into does list the different breeds of chook, they're all chickens, for you to colour and turn into your own fantastical (or sensible, if thats yout style) birds.

The facing pages are filled with tessellated poultry designs, so you won't have to worry about paint/ink bleeding through to next image.

A fun book, and I know exactly who will be getting a copy of this once it's published!

I didn't know I wanted to colour in chickens this much until this book! They are fabulous!

The designs are brilliant and every single one is unique from each other.

I usually don't finish colouring books as I get bored and move onto another one, but this book is so bizarre I can see me definitely completing every single page. They also include chicken facts that once again I didn't even know I wanted until I read them and loved it all.

This book is an absolute delight and I love everything about it.

What a fabulous coloring book for anyone who loves chickens. These pages are beautifully done and just waiting for you to choose the colors to bring them to life. I am looking forward to having a copy of this one when it is released.

After 9 years of death-defying graduate coursework and armed with my newly minted (and entirely well deserved, I might add) PhD, I was ready to conquer the world…so I went back home. Yes, you read that right. I went back home to my family’s farm. In reality, I never really left—and not just because I commuted back home on the weekends. But because every waking minute, my mind was still on the farm…and on the large flock of chickens that my momma raises.

Certainly, I could have traversed the country (or the globe) and found a cushy—but extremely nerve wracking—academic position. I would have thrived given the fact that I’m a workaholic. But my heart would have would have wept for my family’s 110 acre farm and all the joys, sorrows, and obligations that go with it. If I had a copy of Chartwell Books’ “Fabulous Chickens Coloring Book” when I was still a graduate student, it would have made my weekly life there all the more bearable.

I received an ARC of “Fabulous Chickens Coloring Book” from NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group/Chartwell Books in exchange for an honest review. For those of you who love (or long for!) rural life, have a special affinity for our fowl feathered friends, and really need to unwind and relax, I have only 4 words to say: You. Need. This. Book.

First of all, I have to give it to Chartwell editors—the cover is breathtaking. When I saw that cover, I just knew I had to have my hands on it. The entire book is sprayed with beautiful coloring pages that feature a wide variety of chickens. There are a few things, though, that I believe that the editors should consider before this book goes into print, namely:

1. The introductory page names a wide array of chicken breeds that are featured throughout the book. However, the names of those breeds are not listed on the pages. I was able to pick out a few that I thought were certain breeds, but with the artistic license used in the beautiful images, I wasn’t certain. For example, I think one was an Easter Egger chicken, but couldn’t be sure.
2. Although the book was clearly titled with the word “Chickens” in it, many of the images of the “chickens” actually had spurs—which indicates roosters instead. For example, see the 69%, 74%, and 78% page marks.
3. At the 80% mark, the chicken head had so many closely drawn lines that it would be impossible to color well.
4. At the 46% mark, it appears that when the art was created, 2 different images were merged by looking at the different line thickness.
5. The coloring book lacked some cohesiveness. What I mean by that is that some of the images—like the one featured on the cover—use a general chicken (or rooster!) image and uses life-like artwork, and these appear on the 32%-34%, 38%-40%, 46%, 49%, 60%, 63%, 71%, 80%, 86%-91%, 94%, and 98% page marks. The other images use a more fanciful approach (e.g., swirls and unusual patterns) for the inner images. There’s nothing inherently wrong with either, but it might be better to choose either one image type (the fanciful) or the other (the life-like).
6. The editors included what they call “Meditative Patterns” on the opposite sides (e.g., the back) of each chicken/rooster image. These are absolutely beautiful!!! Throughout the book, these patterns are reproduced, but there is enough variation that it shouldn’t be problematic.
7. The editor responsible for creating the “Meditative Patterns” really needs to consider submitting these designs as part of a fabric collection (I think Benartex or Moda might be interested). I would recommend that if (s)he wants to do this, that they take a few of the chickens and pivot them (e.g., chickens that are right side up, upside down, and sideways) in different directions and use a variety of different color palettes. People (like me!) would definitely use these to quilt with. I would suggest that the artist use complementary colors and designs in the collection so that quilters could use the entire collection to quilt with. For example, chickens, chicken wire, eggs, etc. in matching colors.

Overall, this is a very cute book and one that I wish that I already owned. I will definitely be picking up a copy for myself AND for my mom!

I never thought I would love a chicken colouring book ever. But it happens and it happened!

I love how detailed each drawing is and I can feel how accomplished you would feel when you complete colouring one page of this book!

The cover do not do justice to the contents I feel. It’s mesmerising. Pick this book. Have lots of fun with different colours and different colouring materials.

I would choose this colouring book anyday over screen!

I love that this is a chicken coloring book! You often find coloring books featuring other animals, but I cannot recall seeing any other chicken coloring books. I really like the variety of different artwork styles of the pictures as well as all the different types of chickens. I also liked the non-chicken pictures. As this was an eBook, I could not color the chickens, but I will definitely buy it for myself or a friend.

Fabulous Chickens Coloring Book contains 60+ fancy chickens to color in as well as 60+ chicken themed patterns. I liked the varied range of pictures and I particularly enjoyed the ones with chicks in. The patterns were quite intricate so you could spend hours on each one and definitely get your money's worth out of this book.

I would recommend this to anyone who loves coloring and finds it relaxing because who doesn't love chickens!
