Well that was a emotional book , lots of ups and downs and twists and turns. I loved the characters and storyline too
This book was so good, I've read Shain Rose's other series and this one deserves its own praise too! The push and pull of Cade and Izzy's relationship was delicious, full of tension and everything I expect in a hate to love scenario. Izzy's backstory gave her life and dimension and made me feel for her throughout the whole book. Cade is psychotic and waving all the red flags but red is my favorite color. Their relationship was chaotic and passionate and I loved how crazy they were for each other.
This is my first read by Shain Rose and it won't be my last. I really enjoyed the storyline and characters. There was more going on with the characters than first meets the eye. It's very intriguing and gives the book more meaning than the enemies to lovers/mafia style romance.
Highly recommend.
This is my first experience reading something by this author and I would definitely like to try more. I don't tend to read a lot of mafia-related stories, but the story intrigued me enough to try it. It was unique, with a billionaire having a hacking business, not something you hear a lot of. But it made for an interesting story. You know there's going to be some hotness with an enemies to lovers, one bed trope, and the book certainly delivered on that point. The relationship between Cade and Izzy was electric, you could definitely feel the chemistry between them. They are a very complicated couple and it was interesting to see the growth they went through as their relationship progressed. Izzy's character was strong and intense, having coming a long way after dealing with her drug addiction and dealing with other painful past events in her life. She really needed someone in her life to love her, and Cade became that person for her.
It was an entertaining story that kept my interest all the way through. But be forewarned, very spicy! A little too much for me, but that's okay, as the plot was interesting.
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
I love Shain Rose! She is one of my favorite auto-buy authors and I was thrilled to get to review Corrupted Chaos! She certainly didn't let me down. Give me all the billionaire boss, enemies to lovers written by Rose! This one is dynamite!!
4 stars.
Delivers a gripping mix of romance and suspense. Despite their intense dislike for each other, the chemistry between Cade and his employee sizzles on the page. While their dynamic adds an exciting tension to the story, some parts felt a bit predictable. Nevertheless, if you're into enemies-to-lovers romances with a hint of danger, this one's worth diving into! 📚💔🔥
This book was an enemies to lovers which is my favorite trope, you can feel the chemistry between Cade and Izzy from the beginning, in some parts I didn't like her tbh but the I understood why she was that way.
I absolutely love the dynamic and relationship that was built between Cade and Izzy! A great story and fantastic progression throughout. Loved!
This is an interesting enemies-to-lovers love story. It has an interesting development between Cade and Izzy. The hotness is off the roof and the differences between them make this an interesting story to read.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly
Enemies to Lovers. Forced Proximity. Boss/Employee. Mafia. This book is a treasure trove of tropes. Cade and Izzy have known each other for years and argued non-stop the entire time. When the Enemies finally become Lovers, they are explosive.
Corrupted Chaos has a deeper plot, but it definitely takes a back seat to the growing relationship between Cade and Izzy. Frankly, that's all I needed. Hot and spicy with a brilliant, dirty-talking MMC and an equally brilliant, sassy FMC.
There is an underlying story of addiction and loss in Izzy's life, and we get to see what Cade's unwitting role was in her recovery process. Further, we get to see how their relationship helps her move on from the place she is currently stuck. Izzy is a strong female lead, so don't expect a woman who relies on her man, as much as Cade would like it.
I really enjoyed the main characters, as well as the cast of side characters. This was my first Shain Rose book. I'm now torn between catching up on the books I've missed or moving forward with the Hardy boys, because I will certainly be reading more!
this book took toxic love to a new (and potentially un-sexy?) level. as a seasoned dark romance reader, I’m no stranger to glaring red flags in my MMC and a good enemies to lovers trope. if our dark haired, broody and overprotective love interest can spout tender words and support his woman when it really counts, I’m willing to overlook, like soooo much. but unfortunately, I just didn’t see the spark between Cade and Izzy that the author wanted us to feel. their hate f*cking felt like just that, not like the barely contained chemistry that you’d expect to have brewed from two people with the history these two had.
this is supposed to be a work place/mafia romance, but none of that sensual tension or forbidden push & pull that we typically expect in those scenarios is really present. just plenty of arguing between our mc’s.
Cade claimed to be obsessed and enamored with Izzy, but it just fizzled for me. his words felt hollow when the action wasn’t there to back it up. And Izzy’s trauma and character history felt like it was only brought up when it was convenient to further the minimal plot. the between these characters was really the saving grace to this book, but I do wish there was more of a balance between that and the underlying story.
Corrupted Chaos is a book for everyone who wants to understand the fight between addiction and one's self. This book has changed my outlook on life as I know it.
Corrupted Chaos by Shain Rose is part of the Tarnished Empire series. We meet Issy, a former addict who's been sober for 9years, and who is currently losing it. Her good-for-nothing boyfriend just dumped her outside her company party and she has to see her enemy and boss, Cade again. They do not get along and she wants to do more within the company. Cade doesn't allow this though, but the only reason she can find is that she's a former addict and he's an Armanelli. The Armanelli empire is the mafia, which has gone (mostly) legitimate. So proving herself, Issy helps create the best software to help the election, with the help of Cade. But when they are forced to spend time with one another, they fall for each other.
I love Shain Rose's writing style and writing in general, and this book did not disappoint. Cade and Issy's characters were written beautifully and had so much depth you don't see with other authors. The story was good, even though personally (which is crazy for me to say) had a bit too many *spicy times* for me. I found it well-paced and easy to read, despite the first 5%. The last 60% I spent crying a lot but you could feel every emotion, which is so hard to do.
It touches so very hard topics; Suicide, drug addiction, kidnapping, and mental health. It also has some knife play (mid).
It's a beautifully written book everyone should read. Will be rereading it soon!
Thank you to NetGalley and Shain Rose for this amazing book!
Corrupted Chaos was my first ever read by Shain Rose. A few pages in, I felt like I was missing something but the book definitely gave me the information I was missing about characters and situations that took place in other books before it. I definitely am looking forward to reading more of the authors backlist! Cade and Izzy are fiery hot! So much passion on those pages wow! Enemies to lovers is one of my absolute favorites and when you pair it with my other favorite, boss/employee…perfection! Great read!

This book had all the right spice, and it happened almost instantly. I loved the hate Izzy has for Cade, and how Cade knew the entire time Izzy is HIS.
The entire book though, I was extremely confused on what was going on. Who was talking sometimes.
Overall, this book was really good. I do suggest it, if all you want is spice.
Oh Cade…. So many red flags. So much to love. I wanted to hate him the first few chapters because he acted like a d!(k. But then we saw the other side of him and how he was with Izzy. It has a 3rd act “break up” but done in a way that actually makes sense. Not just for the drama. Not sure I could have loved this one more!
If you are looking for an enemies-to-lovers romance with tension and passion this is the book for you. At the heart of the novel is the fiery dynamic between protagonist and her enigmatic boss, Cade Armanelli. Their chemistry is electric, sparking with every heated exchange and smoldering glance. Rose expertly navigates the complexities of their relationship, drawing readers into a thrilling game of cat and mouse as they navigate the blurred lines between love and hate. I loved the banter between the main characters. This is definitely a must-read for fans of steamy romance, the chemistry was on fire.
4/5 stars
You have your mob boss billionaire genius hacker who is a bit territorial and the girl who is a bit broken but can keep up with him all the same. The dynamic between the characters is entertaining. My favorite part is where she taunts him that if IT help desk calls were so easy he should try it. The depiction was pretty spot on, Working in IT this probably made me laugh more than most. Lucas, the best friend, was definitely my favorite character.
Loved it! But found myself sometimes confused. I think it was because I had not read the other books so didn’t have the full grasp of the Albanians or the hatred between Cade and Izzy! At the states I thought why do they hate each other this much?! Anyway I just wish I read them in the right order! The spice was sexy and the writing was fab!
Corrupted Chaos by Shain Rose is an amazing book.
This book is perfect for a mafia hacker fan reader.
✅ Mafia/ hacker /boss
✅ Enemy to lover
✅ high sexual tension
✅ Plenty of spicy scenes ( the author are very generous)
✅ Suspense
✅ Angst
✅ Tear jerker
✅ Heart broken moments
✅ Spiciness: Intense and explicit (kinky/domination)
I loved Izzy's character. She's a spitfire, feisty, full of rage and so emotional.
Even though she had a hard past from losing someone and recovering from an addiction, her will to move on with her life are so admiring.
And with Cade as her enemy, he keeps on pushing her limits which make her feels everything.
I just loved their bickering.
This book is wild and intense.
The storyline are fast paced and addicting.
I'll definitely be looking forward to Shain Rose and the next book.
Corrupted Chaos, the final book in the Tarnished Empire Series by Shain Rose-
My rating is 3 stars.
I didn’t hate this book but I didn’t love it either. It’s marketed as a standalone but I don’t feel like it’s easily read without reading the previous books. I didn’t read the other books in the series and I spent a lot of time feeling like I was missing information that would probably help me understand the character dynamics a lot better.
I was excited about the hacker aspect of the story, yet I don’t feel like we were given enough actual hacking. What a disappointment.
I had a hard time finding reasons to like Izzy, the FMC. She honestly seemed like a brat, always thinking she was the best person for every job, demanding to work on projects that Cade, the expert hacker, just didn’t feel she was qualified for.
It was also difficult for me to buy into the enemies to lovers trope after reading the elevator scene in the beginning of the book. Izzy seemed to enjoy what happened there and Cade was more than happy to provide the service, even ha√ing a somewhat tender moment when he was speaking to her. Does that sound like enemies to lovers? Also, I never understood why they were enemies? Maybe I would have if I had read the other books. Which I didn’t. Because this was marketed as a standalone. *shrugs*
I really just didn’t find this book all that exciting or memorable.
I received an advance reader copy. After the book was already released. And this is my voluntary review.
