Lindsey Boxer and the Women's Murder Club is back in the latest in this fun series. As always it is a quick read that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I didn't want to put it down, but sometimes life gets in the way. This is one of my favorite series!!!
I want to thank Netgalley & Little, Brown and Company for an ARC of this novel
James Patterson and the Women's Murder Club is back with: The 24th Hour. It's hard to believe that this is the 24th book of the series. We get to visit with another amazing edition to our favorite crime solving trio. Lindsay Boxer, SFPD sergeant, and Claire Washburn, medical examiner, meet Yuki Castellano, assistant DA, and Cindy Thomas, crime writer, at an upscale restaurant to celebrate Claire’s birthday. The happy meeting of the Women’s Murder Club is disturbed by a commotion caused by an attack on a young woman. What is this woman's story? She has a few different names. Why is she nude and who attacked her?
In true Patterson fashion there are other cases that are going on at the same time. Has Lindsey finally met her match? The book moves at a fast but comfortable pace. The chapters are short. There is a lot packed into it. Lindsay has her hands full with this one.
Catching up with the Women's Murder Club is like sitting down with a gaggle of friends. I love their characters. You can read any of these books individually, however I have read the series in order.
Thank you to the author and publisher for allowing me to read a copy of this book - all thoughts are my own,
What can I say - I absolutely love TWMC!!! I'll read them for as long as Patterson continues to give us books! I love that we get stories from all four ladies. I got easily sucked into the story and didn't want to put it down.
I'm already anxious for #25 and see where Joe and Lindsey end up!
James Patterson does it again. Nothing else needed. Just read it.
THANK YOU to NetGalley for an arc copy of this book I. Exchange for an honest review.
The latest installment of the Women's Murder Club series was a fast read with a a lot going on. The book starts out with the ladies meeting for lunch for Claire's birthday when a woman's scream is heard in the restaurant. Lindsay immediately goes to investigate. This storyline continues later in the book with Yuki. Lindsay and Richie are investigating a homicide that has many suspects but not very many good leads to help them solve it. Joe gets called in by the director of the FBI to work on a case involving cybercrime. Cindy and Richie have their own excitement in the book as well. All of these storylines kept me glued to the pages to see how everything would be resolved. I can't wait to see what will happen next to the members of the Women's Murder Club.
I received a complimentary copy of this ebook from the publisher through Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publishing house, and the author for the opportunity to read a complimentary copy of this book in return for review based upon my honest opinion.
It’s been a while since I read a book in the series, I don’t know why I ever stopped reading them. The Women’s Murder Club books are so good, it’s like catching up with old friends. I love the interaction between the characters, the stories that tie them together and the crimes that are solved in each book.
I definitely have to go back and read the books that I have missed in this series. I look forward to the next book and reading more about some of my favourite characters.
The 24th Hour by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro is the most recent installment in the Women's Murder Club series. I follow this series and read each book as it's released faithfully. The 24th Hour has my favorite characters fighting the good fight while trying to maintain marriages and families, and in some instances, trying to stay alive. I enjoyed this book and plan to purchase it in hardcover to add to my collection.
A continuation of the Women’s Murder Club with this one having multiple storylines converging together. The club is celebrating in style when they stumble across a crime in progress. Yuki, Cindy and Lindsay all have roles in helping the victim while Claire helps to heal some of her wounds. At the same time, someone is killing the rich and famous which pulls Boxer in a different direction. The only thing missing from this one is a lot more of Joe! Thanks to NetGalley for the read - I love this series.
I have to say, even though I haven’t read the entire series before starting with the newest installment, "The 24th Hour," my enjoyment of the book was not hindered at all. In fact, it left me wanting to binge the rest of the series. The characters are an absolute delight to follow as they develop, and their interactions are pure gold. The plot is captivating, and the suspenseful layers added to the next level. It's worth mentioning that I read book one before jumping to book 24, and it didn't take away from my overall enjoyment. I'm definitely planning to check out the rest of the series and even reread this book in the future.
I am a huge fan of the Women's Murder Club and this edition is just another in a long list of great reads. SFPD Sergeant Lindsay Boxer, Medical Examiner Claire Washburn, Assistant District Attorney Yuki Castellano, and crime writer Cindy Thomas gather at one of San Francisco’s finest restaurants to celebrate exciting news that Cindy is getting married. Before they even eat, there’s a disturbance in the restaurant. A woman has been assaulted. Claire examines the victim. Lindsay makes an arrest. Yuki takes the case. Cindy covers it. The legal strategy is complicated by gaps in the plaintiff’s memory and the shocking reason why. The Women's Murder Club never disappoints.
The 24th Hour is a quick, easy read, lacking depth or intricate plot development, combining separate storylines—an assault (anti-climactic), ransomware (pointless), and three murders (duh). Each idea seems superficial as if they were put together just to meet page requirements and a deadline.
The conveniences within the narrative do not hold up. For instance, why would someone seeking a restroom be directed to an employee’s locker room via a staircase in a restaurant? The use of dissociative identity disorder (DID) or multiple personality disorder as a plotline feels overused and outdated. The hacker subplot ends abruptly, leaving readers unsatisfied. Similarly, the murder mystery lacks suspense—the shooter’s identity is evident early on, and the victim's backstories reveal predictable motives.
By the end of the book, I stopped caring about any of the characters. Even the members of the murder club are reading a little too singularly dimensioned and the wedding was downright boring. I'm not sure where the writing duo will head next, but it is time to step up their game.
Another great addition to the Women’s Murder Club series. I have now read the entire series. Waiting for the next book. Hoping it is soon.
This book is by far one of the best women’s murder clubs I’ve read!! Every time I think James Patterson has taken Lindsey to the top, he takes her and the rest of the women’s murder club just a little bit higher on the next go around.
This is one you don’t want to miss!
Thank you Netgalley and the James Patterson street team for letting me grab this early!
I have always enjoyed the Women's Murder Club books and 24th Hour is no exception. It follows three stories: Lindsey's pursuit of the killer in a double homicide of a wealthy, promiscuous married couple, Yuki's case pursuing justice for a woman with multiple personality disorder, and Joe's cyber crimes case.
I give this a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars. I really enjoyed Yuki's case and the complexities mental illness can play in the courtroom, and I thought the cast of characters in Lindsey's case were interesting and twisty. I really didn't care for Joe's case and found me skimming: I read these books for the four women, and would rather have seen a plotline around Claire or Cindy. It was still an enjoyable and quick read, I just wanted more from my women!
The Women’s Murder Club series is one of my favorites by James Patterson. And this one does not disappoint! While you could enjoy the book as a standalone, I would strongly encourage you to go back and read the first one through this 24th book so you have all of the background on the characters. They are well developed and the relationships that have developed have you invested in their story. This one has twists and turns and wondering how the court case will resolve. Then factoring in the double homicide and who is guilty has you guessing until the very end. Can’t wait for the next book in the series. I am a huge fan!
Thank you to NetGalley and Little Brown and Company for my advanced review copy. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

Another fabulous book from the famous author James Patterson.
Thus is the 24th edition to the murder club series. It keeps getting better and better. It can be read as a stand alone but why would you?? Binge tge whole series.
The 24th Hour is the 24th installment of the Women's Murder Club series by James Patterson & Maxine Paetro.. I have read the series from the beginning and with every new story it's like visiting friends while watching their relationships change and grow. In The 24th Hour, you have 3 different story lines to follow, but the characters still intertwine and are there for each other. Thank you #netgalley for the opportunity to read and review a copy of this book.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and all opinions expressed are mine.
James Patterson delivers when it comes to a good mystery . The women’s murder club are back! 24th hour follows SFPD Sergeant Lindsay Boxer, Medical Examiner Claire Washburn, Assistant District Attorney Yuki Castellano, and crime writer Cindy Thomas. It starts with them out celebrating Cindys upcoming marriage and ends with them solving an assault. Intriguing ,fast paced and well written.
So much going on with the four friends in the Women’s Murder Club! So much going on that I started to get a bit confused along the way.
The case with the suspected personality disorder was intriguing for sure.
A fast moving story that kept me engaged. For sure plenty of twists and turns!
Thank you NetGalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Cannot believe we are at 24! Gobbled this up as usual. Love the characters but they do manage to dig up trouble!
