I couldn’t get into the story just as I thought. Not disappointed but need more depth, I think. I can't remember when was the last time when I read a book in which the whole plot was 100% equal to what was written in the blurb and nothing more. There was no surprise there, no resolution to any of the plot threads and the whole story was blatantly predictable and painfully dull.

I really enjoyed this story; filled with romance, hot chemistry, lots of exciting action and just the cutest little boy! This is the first book I've read by Evelyn Montgomery, but I would definitely read more of from her.

Brittany and Dylan proved to give us a wonderfully steamy read. Great story with more than romance to keep you reading and enjoying.

Rebellion is such a beautiful book to read. This book is about two broken people with a dark past trying to build the trust between them.

This book have a high sexual tension, plenty of explicit spicy scenes, dark past, secrets, angst, suspense, action packed, thriller, heart breaking moments and tears. This book really hooked me up. When Brittany and Dylan are together, those two are the sweetest couple I've ever seen with old love song and poetry. However, deep inside lays the darkest secrets which make the two of them broken. Building the trust between them required much more and digging the past but also revealing the secrets. I've cried a bucket for Brittany and Dylan. They deserved a happy ending after all the sadness in their life.

Rebellion follows two FBI agents, Brittany and Dylan, each damaged in their own ways.

The two meet at a mutual friends Christmas festivities in Key West and end up sharing a room...and no surprises a bed.

But then after Key West they discover they're both agents and partners on an undercover operation to bust a drug dealer in Miami.

Sex, drugs and guns ensure...and of course there is a happy ending.

I want to preface this review by saying this is my first Evelyn Montgomery book. From what I'm seeing on GoodReads, Rebellion was originally published in December 2019. Two on the newest editions have recently been released, paperback in December 2023 and Kindle in January 2024. I was also unaware Rebellion is #5 in the Can't Help Falling in Love stand alone series.

This was my first approved NetGalley book, and since I am always 'on the go' it took me way longer than it should to actually read the words versus listen to an audiobook. Thank you to Brittany & Evelyn Montgomery for the advanced reading copy in exchange for an honest review.

The lust story between Brittany and Dylan begins immediately. The instant attraction and chemistry builds up and unfolds in Key West while they spend over Christmastime in between jobs. Brittany and Dylan give into their desires only for her to leave without a word the next morning...and for them to find each other as partners on their next undercover jobs. Their continued desire pulls at them, which is a huge conflict of interest as they try to bust a drug dealer in Miami.

What did I like? Brittany and Dylan are well developed characters. The perspective jumps between the two, including backstories of parental abuse, drug use and extremely toxic relationships. Most characters are bilingual so many converations have phrases or sentences in Spanish, the author does include translations.

What I did not like? Dylan has a four year old who speaks with as much insight and eloquence as an adult. The Spanish was off for me - which is likely due to regional language variations. Both of these really bothered me and had me overthinking portions, where I'd have to take a break or go back and reread, but will likely not be an issue for the large majority of readers.

I'm interested to dig further into the Can't Help Falling in Love series. As noted, Rebellion is #5 in this stand alone series and it is a fun lust story all on it's own. I'm curious to learn which characters overlap and are interwoven throughout the series.

This was the second book I read from the author, the first one was Catch. This had a darker theme and there was more action in it. The story was gripping and was hard to put down, there were some interesting twists and turns. The main characters made a great duo and they had sizzling chemistry. It was quite an enjoyable read.

Thank you to NetGally for this ARC! This book was a sweet romance book! It had a little spice to it, while it progressing through the plot at a good rate! I would say this is a good introduction to mafia/ kinda dark romance genre.

Read this in one sitting could not put this book down I honestly love anything written by this author it's so well written and the spice ohhh the spice.

I'll definitely be waiting for more books from Evelyn Montgomery and I'm really need to read next book.

Unfortunately I had to DNF this book at 25% I really struggled to get into the story and the writing didn’t flow for me and grip me

WOW! Excellent story! I liked the challenges, suspense, surprises, and romance throughout. There were great character and amazing writing throughout. The story really keeps the readers on their toes. Overall, It was a great story!

After reading the book Rebellion I found that it was good. I have read romantic suspense before and found that I had a hard time getting into the book. After reading this book I found that it had an easy flow for readers to read and that the characters were easy to connect with. The author was able to keep my interest for most of the book but there were times were I had to go back and reread what I had already read. Overall the book was good.
