Book 2 in the Detective Hollie Turner series following on from where book 2 ended. The story is getting more fascinating and the secrets more bigger as it goes on and it ends on another cliffhanger. I'm so glad I have book 3 to read straight away and don't have to wait to long to find out who the culprit is.
Recommend.
Thanks to Netgalley and Storm Publishing for the ARC.

This book continues following DI Hollie in her search for who killed the nun! I was so excited to be able to read this after the last book ended in a cliffhanger.
Of course this one does as well but at least the third book is available because I am too impatient to wait for the ending!
Two books in and I’m still enjoying this series!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy of this book.

This carries on from the cliffhanger in the first book.

After the murder of a nun and the confession of a woman who has previously been under her care in the mother and baby home, Hollie and her new team continue to investigate. Hollie’s confidential informant is not giving up any information and she’s struggling to get the truth from the other women who were in the home. When the killer comes after Hollie’s children it’s a step too far.

Wow what a page turner. Another cliffhanger as this book finished with a bang. Literally!
I’m really enjoying how the book flips from present day to the life of the girls in the home. Tiny little clues are being revealed slowly and whilst that is frustrating it’s got me glued to my kindle. Hollie is a really likeable character. She makes mistakes but she’s a good detective and a good mum too. The relationship with her new team is building slowly and it’s very relatable how she’s treated as an outsider to begin. Such a good wee series. I’m about to start book three and while I want to know who did it, I’m not sure I’m ready for the story to be over!

Thank you NetGalley and Storm Publishing for my approval to read and review this book.

Her Last Cry (Detective Hollie Turner Book 2) - this book follows on from The Fallen Girls with DI Hollie Turner and the team are still trying to track down the killer of Sister Brennan. The story is told in several characters points' of views and is set over different timelines in the City of Hull. The story is full of twists and turns. It certainly is a roller coaster of a read and it is a page turner that I didn't want to put the book down. I don't want to say anymore without fear of spoiling the story. I recommend you read this book in book order.

I didn’t realise this was the second book in a series, so it didn’t work as well for me. Potentially a great story, but it doesn’t end in this book….which is very frustrating.

This second book is just as good as the first. Literally starts where the first book ended. Hollie is still chasing after the person who killed the nun. We get to know her and her team better. This time we get glimpses of the past from another girl, Gilly. I’m loving these books. The story is so fast paced, the characters are ones you can get behind, the story( past & present) is interesting. And, of course, this ends with another cliffhanger!!! I want the next book in my hands right now!!

Her last cry is a crime thriller novel by Paul J. League.
I didn't realise at first that this was book two in a trilogy series, even though I hadn't read the first one I still enjoyed it. It was an absolute page turner and I kept reading until the end as I wanted to know what happened. A very enjoyable read that I highly recommend.
❤️ Thank you to netgalley, storm publishing and the author for my arc ebook copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

The continuing saga of DI Hollie Turner and the case involving the murder of Sister Brennan. With all the bad choices the DI makes it is surprising she is still in charge!

FYI do not read this book unless you have read Fallen Girls, as it is definitely not a standalone. This book carries on where Book 1 finished, it’s as though one book was simply divided into two (or even three, as I understand this is to be a trilogy).

Once again a cliffhanger of an ending. Very unsatisfactory, but a more interesting book than Book 1, though the dubious actions of Hollie make for some pretty far fetched scenarios.

In these days of instant gratification with streaming and box sets, it is brave of the author to make his readers wait for the next instalment. Not sure it works 100%, but perhaps I need to be more patient!

Thank you NetGalley and Storm.

A strong start letting me wonder what would happen and got me hooked. However, I soon discovered part of the mystery early in the story. I didn't particularly like Hollie, her way of organising her private life really seemed to me not deserving any compassion. The conclusion was a total cliff hanger, so much that I was definitely not satisfied with the ending. I know it is a trilogy but the end was just too abrupt for me.
I received a complimentary digital ARC of this novel from NetGalley and I am leaving voluntarily an honest review.

Book 2 in the Detective Hollie Turner series starts exactly where Book 1 left off with one of book one's fallen girls confessing to the murder of Sister Brennan. Hollie and the team continue with their investigations which prove to be more complicated than initially thought. I read book two in one sitting. The twists and turns come thick and fast as Hollie tries to identify and connect the babies (now grown men) and their birth mothers. I can't wait to read book three to discover how the story concludes as once again we're left with a cliffhanger ending. Definitely a 5* read.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advance copy. All opinions are my own.

The secrets that surround the Unmarried Mother's home continue in this book.
Detective Hollie Turner gets a wake up call when her soon to be ex husband is proved right about her job being dangerous to her family.
The killer is still on the loose, but Hollie has an unexpected informant, she just has to get more information from him before she can break the case.

I got my wish! The second part of the trilogy soon after the first! Now I definitely need to get my greedy hands on the final. I NEED to know more! Who is this killer?
Hollie at least has been accepted by her team by showing her humanity. She is one of them, fun loving and down to earth.
I like her, she is a strong, smart and dedicated Police Officer. She loves her family, and is settling in with her team of investigators.

The book is nerve wracking, heart pounding and I read it in one sitting! I turned pages like a mad woman on speed! Having to wait for the conclusion is getting me into a cold sweat, despite the extreme heat we are experiencing.

Totally gripped by this trilogy, eagerly awaiting the finale!!

Thanks to Netgalley and Storm Publishing for the opportunity to read this series!
