For all those people who feel misunderstood and that’s there’s simply no one out there who could possibly love them for who they are… this was the epitome of showing you that there IS someone for everyone!
This was everything I wanted and more, cute, funny, charming and most importantly had me hooked, line and sinker wanting to carry on reading to see the tales of our adorable couple!
Melphiera or “The Voracious Villianess” was completely charming and I warmed to her almost immediately, your classic “country bumpkin” who doesn’t want to fit in with the “norm” and simply has no interest in changing herself to do just that! Her love interest, “The Blood-Max Duke” (Aristide) is the perfect match for her, accepting her quirks right off the bat and is intrigued to know more about her and her hobbies.
The volume ended too quickly for me only because I wanted to keep going and it to never end! I can’t wait for volume two to continue this adventure.
Have you ever had a favorite food that no one else would even try? Something that is so odd and different, everyone thinks you’re crazy for even trying it? That’s more or less what happened to our beloved Lady Melphiera. She has an appetite for delicious monster meat, and no one seems to understand. In fact, her fellow nobles have dubbed her “The Voracious Villainess” and shun her for her interest in monsters. She has no friends and little hope of finding someone who will be her betrothed. That is, until the handsome “Blood-Mad” Duke of Galbraith saves her from one of the dreadful monsters. It appears he may also have an unappealing interest in monsters, an interest that could bring them together.
This story was so sweet and heartwarming but also just strange enough to keep you from feeling like it’s the same old “girl meets boy” romance. You will fall in love with Melphiera for her courage, kindness, and overall quirkiness. It’s fast paced and will leave you wanting more! The art style and adorable characters reminded me of stories from Shojo Beat, and had me just as invested! I can’t wait for the next installment of Pass the Monster Meat, Milady!
Excellent first volume of a series. Melphiera is a high born daughter of the House Marchalrayd and she has a strange hobby: eating monster meat. Called the Voracious Villainess, Melphiera goes to a garden party in a last ditch effort to find a spouse. When the party is attacked by a monster, she's saved by Aristide, the so called Blood-Mad Duke. Now he's asking for her hand in marriage.
I really enjoyed this first volume. It is very reminiscent in tone to a villainess/isekai manga, but doesn't really have that as a base. Melphiera and Aristide are both very charming so far. And, most importantly, it's a food manga that doesn't go too hard into the food prep. I found it a nice balance between the story and the food appreciation. I'm looking forward to the next volume.
Can I say this is so adorable 😭😭😭😭. I'm a sucker for romance that is not overly pining but when both are trying to understand each other's likes. The female lead was known to be gluttonous and have a voracious appettite for monster's meat so people avoided her and bad rumors surrounded her. But she is just a noble lady albeit with a lower status in the high society who appreciated good foods and enthusiastic on whats best way to cook them. Its so cute to see how the male lead accomodate to her needs and accept the way she is. Cannot wait to see how their loves gonna blossom 🥺🥺🥺.

3.5 stars.
I liked the art style and the premise are both what sold me on this Manga, however while it is a nice Meet Cute I am struggling to find the plot within the story as the Meet Cute happens fairly fast and reads more like a one-shot then a full series. Honestly, the Blood-mad Duck and Melphiera are truly a wonderful powerful couple but the story lacks anything to persuade me to continue reading the series, which is disappointing. Overall, it's a nice story and something unique but I want more.
This is a lighthearted manga that is perfect for those days that you just want to dive into a fantasy world after a long day. It was funny, quirky, and the art was pretty. The story line is fast pace and it is character driven. Overall, it’s cute and warm.
This was so cute and funny from start to end. I LOVE when a protagonist is slightly quirky and viewed as weird or unnatural. And this hits all the marks. And although eating monsters is no longer something I feel is unordinary, the story plays well in showing that it is for everyone else within the manga. The depictions are nice and give a good idea of how exactly the meat of the monsters need to be prepared. The story also provides information of how it can be toxic if not prepared properly. Giving more reason for the other characters to feel disgusted by it.
By the end of chapter 1, I was already committed to the oddball couple who already seem to be made for each other. I also want to learn more about the Mad-Duke and see what his version of events feel like. As most see him as unordinary too.
I love how this volume ended! I can't wait to read more and find out what actually happens in Melphiera's laboratory!

OH MY GOODNESS, I LOVED LOVED LOVED THIS ONE SO MUCH!!! Pass the Monster Meat, Milady! 1 by Chika Mizube was a super sweet and funny manga volume about two people who have undeserved reputations and find companionship with each other. The lady is notorious for cooking and eating monster meat which is considered scandalous and the knight is known for being super blood thirsty in battle. What follows are the most wholesome and cheery events that are leading up to a possible future romance and I am SO HERE FOR IT. The art, character design, and side characters were also great. Super eager to read more volumes!!!
Let's run down the list, shall we?
Misunderstood relatable heroine: check.
Misunderstood unexpectedly dashing hero: check
A hobby with a twist: check
Dragons: oh yeah, we have dragons
This manga has all the elements of a romantic fantasy. While the concept may not be novel, the execution is wonderful. The panels are well-drawn and there is a warmth and humor to the story that readers will appreciate. I will be keeping my eye out for volume 2!
Reviewed for School Library Journal; Melphiera and Galbrath are both social pariahs but may find acceptance with each other because of their interest in monsters and the culinary benefits of them. What started out as a food manga sort of morphs into a romance and was actually deeper and way more enjoyable than I thought it was going to be. The chemistry the two leads have was very pleasant and the cliffhanger was a bit sudden and irritating, so I'm definitely looking forward to volume two.
Pretty funny but it wasn’t really my cuppa tea. It was a tad too childish and dry for me. The main characters felt bland and detached. Would wish more comic scenes. Probably wouldn’t recommend it.
I received my copy from netgalley and am very thankful for that.
I loved the characters in this so much and it scratched a cozy fantasy itch that manga always seems to be able to get to. The way that this is paced is so nice and feels like popping in the next chip or piece of candy and I was sad when the end of the volume came. I love food in stories like this and I can't wait to pick up volume 2.
I love the concept of this manga and adore the protagonist. I would definitely recommend to my friends and read the next volume.

This is a light fantasy shojo manga that is simply amazing! The art and character designs are absolutely beautiful. The story is pretty lighthearted but I sense there will be higher stakes in upcoming volumes. I’m usually more of a slow burn romance person but the instant love in this manga was very well done and I can’t wait to see the progression of the relationship between Melphie and the duke!
I give this 5 stars and I will purchase the physical copy as well! It was so good, highly recommend!
I love this manga so much! Beautiful drawings, beautiful characters, and beautiful story. It is so nice to know someone unique like Melphiera could find someone who understands her. She and Duke Galbraith are so lovable and made for each other. I can't wait to read the next volume. Oh, I also want to taste her cooking hehehe...
Thank you, NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for providing me with this ARC!

‘Pass the Monster Meat, Milady! Volume 1’ is very cute and I really enjoyed it, the art work was cute and I really recommend it.
Rating 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
There's a lid for every pot and in this case, there's someone for everyone, no matter your interests or reputation. I was pleasantly surprised with "Pass the Monster Meat, Milady!" which was compared to two titles in its blurb. I am only familiar with "Delicious in Dungeon" and so far I think the jury's still out if this will really focus on monster meat, or if it will lean more towards the romantic plot. The most wholesome and charming thing about this is that the two main characters have truly found someone they can relate to. I look forward to reading volume 2.
I need volume two, like, NOW!
Pass the Monster Meat, Milady! is so very, very fun! It's seemingly a straightforward, done-before story of a noble lady from the countryside catching the interest of [insert cool adjective] duke. But the story is charming, engaging, and interesting, and I loved how the two leads connected to one another because of their unusual hobbies and interest in monsters. Absolutely loved it.

We all feel a little strange for our hobbies sometimes. But every once in a while, we meet someone who appreciates us for our eccentricities. This was an adorable love story. I want to read more.
