Extremely accessible, written in a very conversational flow. The real life scenarios and stories built into the narrative help to reinforce the messages - the section at the end recapping where the individuals in each story are now was an interesting end to the book.

This is a quick easy guide to some of the things people will need to consider when contemplating taking on life as a digital nomad. It gives a good balance of the pros and cons of such a lifestyle, as well as useful tips about being ready ahead of deadlines that I guess most of us could take on board, regardless of where and when we work.

For me, a couple of things were missing completely or not covered in enough depth. Clearly, the author has been able to continue doing the sort of work she did in the USA whilst she's on the road but I would have hoped to see more advice on the type of work that other people should consider or skills they need to develop to make the most of this style of work-life. There's also not much about how a person might navigate their way back to the 'real world' after a stint of nomadic life.

It's a lot easier to take off around the world with the security of a fully remote job that accepts you working from anywhere, than trying to find work whilst you're already on the road.

I enjoyed the book but felt it could have offered more advice about finding work.

How to Be a Digital Nomad is a hugely useful how to guide - comprehensive, encouraging and detailed. Written by a woman who left her corporate job in 2017 to travel and work, she's therefore someone writing from personal experience, and that shows.

Covering a myriad of topics including banking, how to work in the digital world while roaming and travel days, the detail is comprehensive but also inspiring. As someone who would like to take the plunge and join the nomad lifestyle, the book has prepared me well for that step and is one I will return to again and again,

I appreciated that Ihrig is honest about a few of the potential downsides of the lifestyle and doesn't pretend that everything is easy or perfect. I highly recommend the book as a bible for anyone considering becoming a digital nomad.

“How to Be a Digital Nomad” by Kayla Ihrig had good ideas and things to think about. It was good because there was a bunch of good information. I do think I felt like some of it was out of touch with some people’s skills pertaining to what jobs and careers they need to be doing while being a digital nomad. 3 out of 5 stars.
