I liked that she was the one local this time, and he wasn't. The meet-cute was cute. It gave us that touch of magic the author likes to kick us off with.
I enjoyed the Christmas special and how it really does fit with the rest of the series. It makes me want the next book even more.
Who doesn't love an excellent snowed-in love story?
And the narration was perfect. Will and Amy really hit it out of the park with these, and I love it.

So cute and charming! My favorite holiday romance of the season! West, a nerdy professor visiting Scotland, meets a fiery and competitive local, Maisie, and falls head over heels. After catching her at the standing stones, making a Christmas wish, to her shock, he asks to court her. (Seriously, who does that lol) What follows is the most adorable Christmas love story, magical, short and sweet, with a pinch of spice (very tastefully done). There's everything you can want in a holiday romance: snowed into a cozy cabin scenario, competitive holiday games, gingerbread house building, and even a ghost or two! This is the 3rd in the series, but can be read as a standalone, though this book has made me want to pick the rest of the series up! Narrators were great! I love a Scottish accent!

This was a cute, quirky and fun listen! I love the setting in the "enchanted" Highlands so much! I'm always up for a feel good holiday romance and this one hit the spot! This story had a little bit of everything from fantasy to romance to humor and lots of great banter. I'm so glad I listened to this one!
The narration is great, Will Watt is always excellent and Amy Landon fit the roll perfectly!

Love this Tricia O'Malley holiday rom com! So whimsical and magical for Christmas.
Barron is over it. A small-town girl with big dreams, her frustrations lead her to make a silly wish at the standing stones outside Loren Brae. Little does she know, the magic found there will transform her wish into a catastrophic event that threatens the upcoming Christmas Book Festival. Weston Smith needs a break. Burnt out from his tenure-track professorship, he decides that a holiday in little Loren Brae, Scotland, will be the perfect escape he needs to recharge his batteries. The last thing he expects is to find the woman he’s been waiting his whole life for. With the over-zealous help of a gaggle of elderly book club members, West finds himself on a real-life mission to woo the woman of his dreams. There’s more than magic at play when sparks ignite. Snowed in, with an undeniable attraction brewing, only West and Maisie can save Loren Brae from the snowstorm of the century. Author’s a handsome American takes on a lonely Scotswoman in this stand-alone, small-town, Scottish romance. Wicked banter, a highland ghost coo, and dogs dressed in kilts make this magical Christmas story the perfect happily-ever-after.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Select for the chance to listen this adorable strangers-to-lovers, snowed-in, set in Scotland audiobook.
Legend in Loren Brae says that if you make a wish at the standing stones on Christmas it will come true. Maisie, local to Loren Brae, doesn't believe in any of the magical elements in her town. All she knows is that she has big dreams and nowhere to let them shine. She decides to make a silly wish at the stones, which might just threaten the Christmas Book Festival.
Weston Smith is from sunny California, but is in desperate need of a break so off to Scotland he goes. The last thing he expects to find in Scotland is the woman of his dreams at the local pub during trivia night. To help him along pursuing Maise, The Book B*tches Club, have made it their mission to get the two of them together.
When the biggest snowstorm Loren Brae has ever seen hits, it's up to Weston and Maisie to save the day.
What a fun and quick Christmas story. I was unaware that this was a part of a series, but this read very well as a stand-alone. The author reviewed how some of the previous characters fit into the story now so I didn't feel left out. I do now have to add 2 more books to my TBR!! This is a love-at-first-sight story, which is typically not a favorite genre of mine, but it worked well in this story. Weston is very much a person that when he makes up his mind it is what it is. So him falling so fast and hard for Maisie seemed to fit right in with magical elements throughout Loren Brae. I like how even though Maisie was afraid to take a leap, in the end she did. There are also magical elements throughout Loren Brae, which I didn't understand completely at first since I missed those in the first two books. However, Maisie also didn't originally believe in these magical elements, so the author did a great job to catch up the reader.
The audiobook was a fantastic way to experience this story. Amy Landon and Will Watt brought the characters to life for this story. I loved the Scottish accents throughout because it made me feel as if I were also in Loren Brae. Will Watt did a great job switching between Weston's American accent to any Scottish ones as the story continued. I highly suggest listening to this book, which I will be doing with the other books in this series!

"A Kilt for Christmas" by Tricia O-Malley is a feel-good, low-stakes, laugh-out-loud romcom. This was such a cute read, featuring an insta-love/he falls first-story but not without some challenges to overcome. I love the inclusion of Scottish mythology and magic, the meddling Scottish grannies, and the welcoming community for a found family aspect. In fact, I would love a meddling Scottish granny spin-off! I would recommend this easily as a Christmas eve read for a fun, relaxing evening, or really - any time of the year. The low-stakes is such a light palate cleanser, too, when the world seems so dark. If you are looking for a sweet holiday romcom, I recommend "A Kilt for Christmas"! Great narration by Amy Landon and Will Watt, as well - they were fantastic.
Thank you for NetGalley, Dreamscape Select, Lovewrite Publishing, and Tricia O'Malley for this ARC and title!

This one wasn’t really for me, but there wasn’t anything technically wrong with it and I can easily imagine others loving it so it’s a 3 instead of a 2.
Premise - a California boy visits Scotland and falls in love with a Scottish girl against a background of supernatural activity during the Christmas season.

Thanks, NetGalley and Lovewrite, for the gifted ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Weston Smith is in Loren Brae, Scotland for the holidays when he meets Maisie Barron. When the pair are pulled together by different turns of fate and some magic, they might find out the other is exactly what they are looking for.
I really loved pets of this book, but other parts didn’t do it for me. I just couldn’t get into the whole magic part of the book and I don’t know why because I usually love this type of thing. The characters were good and the romance entertaining, but overall there was something that just didn’t connect with me. This was a decent holiday read, but I didn’t connect with it in the way most readers seemed to.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC audiobook!

I received an ALC from the publisher through NetGalley. 3.5 stars
This is a very quick holiday romance full ridiculous situations, silly side characters, magic, and just a little bit of spice. I haven't read the other books in this series and felt a little lost on the magic portions so I would suggest reading those first. But otherwise is a a very fine time.
I loved the male narrator on the audiobook but the female narrator not as much. Her male voice was very odd and she made the MMC sound robotic at times. And she took a loud breath before nearly every sentence that started to irk me.

This book is so good. I loved the setting and I read it in a day. I loved the Scottish references. I loved the main male character and the romance was so good.

I'd like to start by saying I have not read any of the prior b9oks but wanted to see if this could be read as a stand alone and honestly it can. I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything.
This was a fun quick holiday read. I did enjoy the length if it, I didn't feel like I needed much more in the story to develop.
The male audiobook narrators cadence bothered me for some reason, I know he was supposed to sound like an intelligent professor type but he sounded more slow to me.
Overall a fun read and would recommend. 3.75 rounded up to 4 for star rating.

A fun holiday story set in Scotland. It celebrates books, Scottish myths and legends and finding love. Set in a small Scottish town where magic plays a role and the community pulls together visiting American professor Weston Smith is enthralled. Aspiring author Maisie Barron is in town to help her cousin with a book festival. This is Weston and Maisie's story and it is helped along by the book group called the Book Bitches, a highland ghost coo, and a snowstorm.
The narrators do a nice job and it was a pleasure to listen to the narrators tell the story.

This was the first book by the author that I read. I was attracted to the cover, Christmas and Scotland sounded like a perfect fit. I enjoyed the characters and the relationships in the book. The Book B*tches were actually my favorite characters.
This is a typical Holiday RomCom. If you enjoy Hallmark WITH STEAM, this is for you. This was book 3 of the Enchanted Highlands series. I had not read any previous books and it was fine as a stand alone novel. I do plan on going back and reading the first two and maybe others by this author.
I received an ARC on audio of this book via NetGalley in return for an honest review. The narrator was excellent, and I really enjoyed the story with the Scottish Brogue.

I didn’t realize this was part of a series but I did some research and doesn’t seem like you have to read the others first. I think I maybe would have enjoyed this more if I knew the other books first. You do get thrown right in to the story.
The female voice was nice and cute. She did multiple accents and genders very well. But the guy for me was hard to listen to. I thought at first he might be a robot. I messed around with the speed to see if that helped but he just sounded fake. I also didn’t love the character of West. In theory, super cute and a dreamboat but he was too cookie cutter for me.
This is a very typical, cutesy romance book. In my opinion it isn’t groundbreaking in any way. So if you want to read a quick, cute book this is for you.
Thanks to NetGalley, Tricia O’Malley, and DreamScape Select for the opportunity to listen to A Kilt for Christmas. I have written this review voluntarily.

Thank you Netgalley and Dreamscape Select for this Audio ARC!
I first wanted to start by saying this was one the books we picked for our Book club for the month of December, and I was so excited to see it pop up on Netgalley. Thank you for the approval!
The audio made the book so much more fun! It really is a different experience being able to hear the accents and the acting. Great job Narrators!
I went into this book only knowing it was a cute Holiday Novella, but the splash of magic and lore was so unexpected. I even had to look up what a "coo" was. The fact that it was on the cover and the chapter headers, I should of figured it out sooner! haha! It follows West, a Cali boy and Maisie a Scottish girl. He went to Scotland on Vacation and met Maisie at a pub. Wishes were made and story begins!
This book was full of banter and tension, he falls first, with the help of some elderly book baddies, a lot of snow and a bit of magic, It's a recipe for a wonderful romance!
If you like: He falls first, Instalove, snowed in, Banter/tension, Mild spice (there is 1 open door scene but not very descriptive), Scottish lore, small town romance, Scottish/American romance. You will LOVE This.

A Kilt for Christmas by Tricia O’Malley is the perfect holiday read to cozy up with! Meddling book club ladies, a ghost cow, swoon worthy romance and a snow storm for the ages? 100% yes!! I laughed my butt off, fell in love with new characters and caught up with old favorites. This series is so much fun and I hope we get many more installments in this wonderful world!
Thank you Lovewrite Publishing for the advanced copy!

Amy Landon & Will Watt did a fantastic job bringing the story to life!

This was a cute but very cheesy Christmas read. The audio was a bit difficult for me to understand, they really killed it on the Scottish accent. There was love at first sight, fun puns, and even some magic! Ghosts and spirits and wishes coming true. The dialogue was just so, so cheesy that I found myself rolling my eyes a lot. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC.

I've really been enjoying this series so was really excited to see this as an audio option. This was another win for me. I loved the hot and nerdy mmc. I liked the Christmas atmosphere with the match making book bitches. I loved the competitiveness of the fmc. The ghost cow is one of my favorite characters. This is just such a sweet and wholesome series. I do wish the 3rd act conflict didn't exist though. That was blown way out of proportion. All in all five stars.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of “A Kilt for Christmas” by a Tricia O’Malley. All opinions are my own.
This was a fun christmas novella. I enjoyed the audiobook and liked the narrators. It is dual POV and I loved that. The main characters were cute and I loved how festive this was. Perfect for the holidays.

I love how cozy this series is while still being relatively spicy. And this Christmas themed one didn’t disappoint! The Christmas vibes, a book festival, a set of matchmaking old ladies, a Christmas wish, and getting snowed in 😍 it was fun, cozy, a little magickal. Plus I got more Clyde! My favorite highland ghost coo 🥰
If you’re looking for a cozy Christmas read, I’d check this out. It is part of a series that I recommend for cozy, Scottish love stories with some magick! I don’t recommend this as a standalone, but I don’t see why you couldn’t read it as a standalone as this is a complete story.
I read this as an eARC initially and just had to listen to the audio because I loved the other two books in audio! So good and so enjoyable!
