A Kilt for Christmas is a great Holiday novel! West was a dream MMC who embodied the perfect Hallmark boyfriend. He takes a trip to Scotland during the Holiday’s to visit a close friend. On his first night in Scotland, he meets the lovely Maisie and immediately fall in love. At times his ‘Professor’ style came on a little too strong, but Maisie typically put him in his place. When Maisie wishes for a white Christmas, her and West end up being snowed in together. As their relationship continues to grow, they have to decide what their future looks like.

Adorable and easy Holiday book if you’re looking for a cute read! I don’t see myself reading this book more than once, but did enjoy this first read.

Thank you for the opportunity of an ARC, and I am leaving this review willingly.

A Kilt for Christmas
By Tricia O’Malley
Narrated by Amy Landon and Will Watt
Book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️5/5 stars
Narration ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5

I cannot put it into words how much I loved this book. I am a fool for all things Scotland and Ireland so I absolutely knew I would love this book. I had extremely high hopes going into it and I was not disappointed at all.

This novel was such a hilarious, fun and sweet read. It was filled with Scottish folk lore and Highland traditions. O’Malley was so descriptive, her words made me feel as if I was in Loren Brae with the main characters Maisie and West. Their chemistry was instantaneous (well for West anyway). The towns people of Loren Brae were fun and lively, I would absolutely love to hang out with them in the pub one day. The book Bitches are my new best friends, if nothing else I want to be them when I’m their age. They are freaking hilarious and had me waiting for their next appearance.

During the hot tub scene, West words touched my soul! Gosh it was beautiful and then oh so steamy.

Agnes and Graham I need more of these two, I couldn’t get enough of them. Their banter was top notch and had me wanting more.

I did the audiobook narrated by Amy Landon and Will Watt. These two completely nailed all the accents. I was swooning! The way they nailed the Scottish accent and then flip to American was sheer perfection. I don’t understand how male or females can do a perfect opposite sex voice but these two have it down. Landon and Watt deliver a hilarious and fully entertaining, upbeat, and perky performance.

A love at first sight with Christmas magic, ghost, kelpies. Little does West known that going to unique small town of Loren Brae will change his life forever. Maisie is frustrated with her life in Loren Brae and her dreams not coming true. But meeting West, a Christmas wish and some noisy but heartwarming old ladies will help with their happily ever after. The audiobook, with Amy Landon and Will Watt is great with all the banter, and amazing Scottish accent.

A magical castle, silly little broonie, unicorns, and a ghost cow and more Scottish myths come to life in this cheesy romantic comedy between a Scottish novice writer waiting for her big break and a California college professor on holiday in Scotland. They both live completely different lives worlds away from each other, but can they find their happiest of happy ever afters?

This book reminded me of the movie "Enchanted", where fantasy and reality are included at the same time. This is NOT a romantasy, but more like a Lifetime movie with fantasy elements. If you are looking for an adult (read; spicy) Disney-like fairytale with very little conflict that works out quickly and perfectly every time, "A Kilt for Christmas" would be a perfect read for you! I had to get in the frame of mind to embrace all the silly Scottish myth references and a romantic relationship that starts off with a mature, handsome, funny, college professor, who apparently makes really good money and is emotionally available and he finds the ONLY woman he will ever want to be in a committed relationship from with the very beginning of the book. It's not only filled with Scottish myths, but also some women's delulu beliefs about what a perfect relationship would look like.

I listened to this on audiobook and the dual readers were a perfect match for the book. Both male and female reader were able to switch from US accent immediately to Scottish accent seamlessly. When the male reader voiced the old Scottish ladies, he reminded me of Mrs. Doubtfire and made me giggle each time.

****Spicy Spoilers****
There are many moments of inner dialogue about sexual thoughts both characters have for each other, but there is only one descriptive sexual scene in an outdoor hot tub in the middle of a snowstorm. It would be very easy to skip over that part and not miss any of the story.

Cute little romance set in a small village in Scotland with a lot of snow and a little magic thrown in for good measure. I generally like the story, as I was looking for something light to read. However, I did not appreciate the notion that a single woman acting on her desire for a single man would put her on "the naughty list." Also, I would recommend reading this one instead of listing to the audio version. The narrators both had a distracting way of speaking that just didn't fit the storyline as well as I think they intended.

A Kilt for Christmas is a lovely Christmas story, set in an idyllic Scottish town and has a wee bit of Highland magic. This is fun novella that is like a warm hug. It has great banter, fun side meddling towns people, plus Scottish myths and legends.

Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the advanced listener copies. It's fun to hear the Scottish accents, it made you feel like you're in Scotland.

<i>“When I first saw you in the pub, my entire world shifted, and then righted once more. You were like a hurricane, knocking my ship off course, only to discover that maybe you set me in the right direction all along.”</i>

This was such a sweet, enjoyable dual POV holiday novella! The audio narration by Amy Landon and Will Watt was lovely as they added Scottish accents for the Scottish characters, bringing a bit more life into Maisie, the FMC, and the residents of Loren Brae, while the Americans had American accents to distinguish them. I found out after listening to this novella that it is actually part of a series of standalones based in the town. You do not need to read the other books in The Enchanted Highlands series to understand this book.

The story focuses around West, a visiting American professor on a trip to see his friend and Maisie, a prickly aspiring author who is a local in Loren Brae. This is very much a love-at-first-sight type of story. West keeps getting help from the locals as he tries to woo Maisie, who is definitely slower to show her full interest. The flirtation ramps up with the two and there is a HEA once the plot points resolve.

West gave me pause at the beginning. It was borderline creepy, insta-love. He definitely grows on you.

The paranormal aspect was a total miss for me. I didn't even know there was a paranormal aspect, so it blindsided me as I went through the story. It didn't detract too much from the Christmas vibes, but it definitely is referenced multiple times throughout the plot.

The only thing I flat out disliked was the mentions of social media (booktok) and general memes. It is my personal preference, it usually just gives me an "ick" and just made things seem really silly and cringey - not in a good way.
"<i>“Wait, were you both at the cottage together in the blizzard?” Esther exclaimed in excitement. “Snowed in at the cottage,” Meredith sighed at my ear. “It’s my favourite trope.”</i>"

I listened to the Audiobook version of this book.
West is a California native visiting Scotland. The narrator was doing an American accent and his accent kept peeking through becoming more and more noticeable. It is confusing because you think of other characters voices he is doing.
Maisie is a Scottish native. Accent is very thick and becomes hard to understand.
The meet cute was well thought out. There seemed to be a lot of fluff. It gave me the feeling that the book was thrown together because it was all over the place. I began to get bored listening.
The Enchanted Forest I’m sure was explained well in the other books to this series. This is labeled as a standalone and I felt like I should have read the other books first. My recommendation is to read the first 2 books and this book will be more enjoyable.

A lovely Christmas romance. Return to Loren Brae for quiz night where American Weston meets Scottish lass Maisie. Maisie is the queen of quiz night and she’s a bit disgruntled when Weston is the one to help her keep her title. Weston decides he wants Maisie and it’s the work of the book to convince her to put her heart on the line.
Clyde the ghost highland coo plays such a fun role in the story and Bryce the brownie has a starring role too.
I love the Enchanted Highlands series and I highly recommend A Kilt for Christmas.
I enjoyed the dual narrators.
Thanks to Netgalley and Lovewrite Publishing for the opportunity to listen to this book.

What a fun and festive read! I haven’t read the other in this series and there are mentions of the previous books and characters, you can definitely still read this one and not feel like you are missing out much.

I listened to the audiobook version and enjoyed the narrators and the accent work. I feel like it really added something to listen with the Scottish accents.

Maisie is spunky and bold which I loved! She was feisty from the start and that was what drew West to her. His mild mannered, slightly buttoned up demeanour was intrigued by this woman that challenged him so and fell in love right away and made it known too.

After a wish on the Standing Stones starts their courtship which is so fun. Lots of festive activities and the very best part of the book, the Book Bitches! These grannies are so funny they had me laughing out loud! I loved how mischievous they are and loved their off colour comments and sweatshirts. I would love to be in their gang.

There was a supernatural element that slowly gets introduced but plays a larger part in the last half of the book that’s interesting and certainly would have been in the previous books of this series from what’s said. I especially loved Clyde, the ghost cow! I would totally buy that merch!

Overall, the love story between these two is fun and flirty and at one point, very steamy! I would definitely read the first two in the series and look forward to more as well.

When literature professor Weston (West) Smith takes a holiday to the small Scottish village of Loren Brae over Christmas break, he certainly doesn’t expect to find love at first sight, and when Maisie Barron makes a wish at the standing stones outside of the village; she gets more than she bargained for.

This one is full of holiday highlights: mistletoe, Christmas lights, a contentious gingerbread competition, sleigh rides, and so much snow. It’s a Christmas whirlwind of a romance novel set in an enchanted village.

I have not read the first two books in The Enchanted Highlands series, so I encountered more magical creatures than I was anticipating from just reading the synopsis. I was delighted, however, when the book club from Tricia O’Malley’s Starting Over Scottish made an appearance with their punny sweaters and meddling, matchmaking ways.

I listened to the audiobook version of the novel and enjoyed Will Watt’s narration. The MMC in this one is American, but we are treated to Watt’s accent work in the dialogue with the FMC and secondary characters. While I enjoyed Amy Landon’s accent and pacing for Maisie’s perspective, I did not love her vocal and phrasing choices for West’s dialogue.

I received an advance copy of the audiobook from Dreamscape Media and NetGalley. All review opinions are my own.

West is a Californian who finds himself in cozy Scottish village Loren Brae for the holidays. One night in a pub he falls hard for local sweetheart Maisie, and the feelings are mutual. They each make a wish for Christmas, but Maisy's winds up turning the town upside-down! Loren Brae is a magical place, especially during the holidays. But can Maisie and West fall in love AND save Christmas?

Tricia O'Malley does it again! This is the third book in the Enchanted Highlands series, and as they say, "The third time's the charm!" To say this book IS charming is an understatement. Small town. Cozy feels. O'Malley seamlessly blends together fantasy elements, humor, and spice. The ensemble cast was so fun to watch. It's a quick read too. The audio, narrated by both a male and female narrator who jump between American and Scottish accents, clocked in at about 5 and a half hours long. Add in the Christmas fun and you've got a fun low-angst, romantic, and entertaining read just in time for the holidays!

I'd like to thank @dreamscape_media Direct, Lowlight Publishing, and @netgalley for the eARC of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

A cute, short little Christmas romance with a sprinkle of magic, and a pinch of smut!

While “A Kilt for Christmas” is #3 in The Enchanted Highlands series, this can absolutely be read as a standalone, which is what I did. I normally hate the insta-love trope, but tis the season after all, and this story actually made it work for me… or maybe just West made it look adorable.

This book has pretty much everything you’d want in a cozy Christmas romance, with a freaking ghost highland coo (!!!), a Christmas book festival and let’s not forget the charismatic elderly women’s book club called “The Book Bitches”. Also yes, there are Kilts involved.

If you’re as much of a fan of the silly hallmark movies as me, definitely check this book out when it gets published on 24. December, you won’t regret it

Big thanks to Netgalley, Dreamscape Select, and the author Tricia O’Malley for allowing me to listen to an audio arc of this adorable holiday romance, I had an absolute blast!

Whimsical cute romance story. Great for getting you in the holiday spirit. I loved the splash of magic.

A Hallmark style Christmas in Scottland, small town Scottish gal meets vacationing American professor. It checks so many of my favorite tropes (e.g., stranded, meddling set-ups, locked in a closet) and is written in an endearing way. A cozy romance with a hint of fantasy, magic.
The author’s voice, pace, plot, and descriptions are spot on with imagery setting up both the tangible space and believability. The characters – sigh- so sweet and dimensional with strengths and limitations that add a sense of realistic human-like quality.

There were occasional moments when I questioned, “Would someone react that way,” which slipped me out of the story. Also, I wish she emphasized describing a little more detail about Scottland, e.g., what a Scottish cow looks like (seriously their signature cows are something I want to see in person someday).
Even with these minor suggestions, it is way worth the read or listen. I read it via audiobook and adored the narrators Amy Landon (Scottish) and Will Watt. It melted my heart and reminded me of the enchanted experience of finding the right person.

"A Kilt for Christmas" is the perfect audiobook to settle in for a few hours while decorating your tree or baking your favorite Christmas cookies and having a listen. It's a cozy tale about love and finding that perfect match in one of the most romantic times of the year.

Weston is a professor from California who is visiting Scotland when he meets Maisie at a trivia night, both trying to outdo each other in getting the correct answer. Sparks fly and chemistry leaps off the page between the two. The "Book Bitches" were around and helped quite a bit and made me want to have grandmothers like that.

Overall a fun read and one that I would recommend.

What a darling Christmas romance!

West is visiting Scotland on his winter break where he has an instant attractive to Maisie a whip smart competitive lady that he meets at Quiz night. With the help of the “Book Bitches” bookclub he tried to win her heart.

It was sweet, silly and just what I wanted in a Christmas romance.

Loren Brae is a magical town where cute professor West and local gal Maisie find themselves thrown together over the holidays. I loved seeing them work together and the cozy Scottish setting!

This was a sweet Christmas romance! I loved how fierce Maisie was and how intelligent she was. Maisie and Weston were adorable! The inclusion of Scottish mythical creatures was great and helped add to the magic of the story. The book bitches group was hilarious and had me giggling. If I ever start a book club, I am so calling it the Book Bitches club. 🤣
