"Miss Wrong and Mr. Right" by Robert Bryndza is a delightful romantic comedy that deftly balances humor, heart, and relatable characters. The story follows the misadventures of a woman navigating the tumultuous waters of modern dating, filled with quirky encounters and unexpected twists. Bryndza’s writing is sharp and witty, making for a fast-paced and engaging read.
The protagonist is well-developed and refreshingly authentic, capturing the ups and downs of romance in a way that resonates with anyone who has experienced the challenges of finding love. Bryndza skillfully weaves in moments of introspection and self-discovery, allowing readers to connect deeply with her journey.
The supporting cast of characters adds richness to the narrative, each contributing their own unique flair and comedic moments. The interactions are lively and often laugh-out-loud funny, providing a perfect balance to the more serious themes of the story.
Overall, "Miss Wrong and Mr. Right" is a charming and uplifting tale that will leave readers smiling. Bryndza’s knack for blending humor with heartfelt moments makes this book a perfect choice for fans of romantic comedies. It’s an entertaining reminder that love often comes when we least expect it, and that the journey to finding the right person can be just as important as the destination.
A beautiful rom com, with big emphasis on the com, about a runaway bride who makes some of her dreams come true, and tries to convince herself about other dreams, until the past returns and her -epic- grandmother moves in with her. A very cool second-chance romance from a writer known for thriller books. Very enjoyable, lots of laughs, and cool characters. Thank you to netgalley, publisher and author for the opportunity to review this fab book!
A fun and frivolous read that worked well as an audiobook.
It opens with Natalie aged 19 who at the last minute backs out of her wedding to childhood sweetheart Jamie.
Jump ahead 15 years and she’s managing a theatre in London and about to stage a high stakes production of Hamlet with an a-list American actor as the leading man.
What could go wrong?
Well, love triangles, drinking problems, burlesque beauty brawls, cheating boyfriends and a run in with her ex-fiancée for starters!
This is a fun romp and I enjoyed listening to brighten up the chores at home!
I chose this one because I have read other books, thrillers actually, by Bryndza.
This wasn’t like that at all - and that’s good! I believe this is his first romcom and it’s fun, I found it as a fully read with a GMA that steals the show! I found the story to be a bit messy, compared to his calculated thrillers - but I’m not sure that’s a fair comparison.
The narration is delightful, Jan Cramer does a great job and brings the characters to life - especially the gma. Have I mentioned I loved her?
I’ll be interested to see if he try’s this genre again and think it will get better and better - thanks for the opportunity to listen to this ALC @netgalley @ravenstreetpublishing
I really enjoyed this laugh-out-loud story, I actually did LOL several times! Great characters, particularly Anouska, what a quirky character!
Miss Wrong and Mr. Right is full of fun, laughter, and crazy antics!! Most Rom-Coms have "A," meaning one love interest, but oh no, this novel has three male contenders in Natalie's, the protagonist, world. Who will be the lucky man to win Natalie's heart by the book's end....Jamie, Benjamin, or Ryan?? Also, I loved the rivalry between the two theaters. And, my absolute favorite parts of the novel are the scenes with Gran, Natalie's grandmother; she is all that and so much more!! The novel is great entertainment....go for it!!
A love triangle for Natalie, with some laughs along the way, but the real show stealer was dear old granny. I would have loved a book just about her. It was entertaining and I would read this authors work again
#MissWrongandMrRight by #RobertBrenda was a refreshing change,
I am a fan of this author and whilst I am aware of his early work pre #DCIErikaFoster I hadn’t read any.
I thoroughly enjoyed this #RomCom and laughed out loud like a maniac listening whilst doing the shopping or out for a walk. The perfect pick me up and light fluffy read. Whilst I was rooting for Natalie to make the right choice I absolutely loved her Gran. As always #JanCramer did an excellent job narrating.
Many thanks to #netgalley for gifting me a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Have you ever read a book or listened to one and while you enjoyed the overall story, it just wasn't too memorable? That happened to be the case for me with this one. It was just alright for me.
The story starts off with the FMC, Natalie leaving her husband-to-be at the altar. Then we fast forward many years and meet Natalie again. She's kind of a mess, but she is running a successful theatre company, has a boyfriend and a star that is featuring in her next play. It had the potential to be a solid rom-com. I just didn't feel a lot of comedy aside from Natalie's grandmother, Anoushka. She was hilarious and a total scene stealer. She brought the comedy to this romcom
Overall, it was an ok story. It was entertaining enough to follow along on Natalie's journey to figure out life from almost being married to back tracking and getting the life she had envisioned.
The single POV worked for this story since it was 100% Natalie's journey and I did not feel I needed another person's point of view since we had a lot of fun characters that supported our FMC along the way. But there did seem to be a lot of side stories that didn't have a lot to do with Natalie's journey. Those could've been taken out and I would've had the same feelings about the story. Apparently this author is known for their thrillers, but I haven't read his books. But he did a good job at switching up the genre and still giving an entertaining story.
As for the audio, the narrator did a great job with the various accents and all the characters that had to portray. I mentioned above the character of Anoushka. That was my favorite of all the performances. But it could've been because the character was so outrageous. Regardless, a standout job by the narrator.
I would check out another book by Robert Byndza, but since he's known for thrillers, I might go that direction before taking on another rom-com at this point.
This one took me a long time to get into. I was ready to dnf it at first. I am no quitter though and pressed on! There is a lot of characters in this one and some are hard to connect with.
Natalie was my favorite, I think I stuck around just to see where the story went with her. I was rooting for her and Jamie, they were great together. Natalie’s grandmother, was a hoot! I just loved her, she made the entire book for me.
The narrator did a fantastic job at bringing the characters to life. I will definitely listen to another book by her.
3.5 stars rounded to 4
Natalie leaves her fiance at the altar. But it's now 15 years later and while she is the manager at a London theatre her ex-fiance, Ryan, has just opened a pop-up theatre across the road.
But Natalie's life hasn't turned out how she wanted it to and maybe he really was the one.
This novel was full of fun characters and scenarios that made you shake your head and hoped they had really thought things through.
I lived the character of Sharon who tried to be there for Natalie but also showed strength as a working mum and trying to juggle her life.
And her Nan was my favourite character as she simply had no fear, and was willing to take risks.
The contrasts between the characters, we knew to dislike, were written well, as well as the witty comebacks and scheming revenge plots, which I found entertaining.
This novel took you on a roller coaster of themes such as alcoholism, fat shaming and death.
This was a really enjoyable novel.
when natalie left her fiance at the alter all those years ago, she was ready for a brand new start. fast forward and she thinks she's found The One in her yoga boyfriend. but then her ex-finace jumps back into her life working at the rival theater across the street from hers. and worse? he's really good at what he does. her theater is putting on an amazing show with an american star and he's also warming up on natalie too. she needs to decide if her yoga boyfriend can step up to the plate, if her ex can even understand who she is or if the american star can be a new beginning before all of this turns into a bigger mess.
filled with hijinks and humor, bryndyza writes a delightful but messy romcom.
Laugh out loud funny!
I loved this book - it was my first Robert Bryndza and I look forward to reading more of his work.
Of course, 'Gran' was my favourite character in the book - everyone should have a gran like this in their lives. But this was one of those great books where every character held their own, no matter how minor they were. Nobody was a 'token character'. Each of them had their own distinct personality and story, from Natalie's assistant and other staff at the theatre right through to her love interests throughout the book. Yet, somehow, none of them seemed to overwhelm any of the others - rather, they complimented each other nicely.
The pace of the story was good, as was the overall storyline and I found myself immersed in all their worlds. I lost track of the amount of strange looks I encountered when I would randomly start laughing while out walking and listening to this book - highly enjoyable and so funny.
I listened to the Audio version of this book and the narrator was perfect for the story - I would definitely listen to her again.
I received an advance review copy for free from NetGalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Am I glad I read it - yes
Was it a waste of my time - definitely not
Would I sit down and read it all over again - yes, I would
Would I read more by this author based on this book - absolutely
Thank you NetGalley and publishers for the opportunity to listen to this book. I've been on a major romance kick lately, and this checked all of my boxes. I really enjoyed the second chance the characters gave each other.
Negatives:
- There's a particular part at the beginning that stood out to me in a negative way. It was very short but also unnecessary description. I'm sure many other readers will just move right past it, I just couldn't and it became a standout detail that I kept going back to. This isn't a major "negative" but since I kept getting hung up about it I am just noting that.
- I didn't really like Jamie, her ex, and didn't really feel the chemistry between them. Despite there being an emotional arc with him, I didn't really care about Jamie much and many of the other characters overshadowed him for me.
Positives:
- The narration. The narrator did a wonderful job on this one and I feel like she enhanced the experience with her performance.
- I did laugh out loud several times with this book.
- I really liked the cast of characters that surround our MC and they do really give off that family/friend vibe. Gram and Ryan were especially enjoyable.
- Road trip shenanigans with Gram and a charming actor? Yes.
- The emotional components of this book were really well done.
Overall, I did enjoy this book and I would recommend it , It was a little bit of a slow burn for me but I felt like the book really picked up once gram came around and I think others will feel the same way. I could certainly see this being one for fans of Bridget Jones' Diary and I'm interested to see what the author does next.
thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy. I really enjoyed this and will be getting copies for my shop.
This was a cute little romance! Don't expect anything super deep or complex, but a nice rom-com for a rainy day.
The narrator did a great job with the voices as well
Thank you to Netgalley for the alc!
This was such a fun read! It took me a little while to get into it at first as there are a lot of characters but in the end they’re all really well fleshed out. I was rooting for Natalie all the way through. She’s an imperfect protagonist that makes a lot of mistakes but she really matures during the book and I was rooting for her and Jamie. The highlight of this book for me has to be Natalie’s grandmother, she was a really enjoyable and hilarious character and the voice actor of this audiobook really brought her to life.
Fun easy read. You could see where the story was going, but it was a fun cute read. All the feel goods and the characters were fun.
Loved this audio! Such a funny rom-com. The Hungarian gran is by far my favourite character that I’ve read in the last few years, she’s a delight. The “namaste” boyfriend was irksome and was happy that ended…
Lovely book - good holiday read.
