What a gloriously lighthearted and funny book this was. I haven't listened to an audiobook in what feels like forever so I was excited to pick up this rom com for some light entertainment.

Natalie was a great main character who found herself in many questionable scenarios but always seemed to get herself out of them one way or another. Although she had found success professionally, she hadn't been able to nail down her personal life and find contentment with a significant other. It was very clear to me from the beginning that she was not going to find it with the weirdo yoga instructor (though their pairing did make for plenty of giggles).

I binged this audiobook and it was perfect to have on and switch off the rest of life. Entertaining, funny and heart warming all at the same time.

Miss Wrong And Mr Right
Robert Bryndza

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This is my first read by this author and it was absolutely brilliant!!

We begin with Natalie leaving Jamie at the altar - she loves him, but just isn't ready to get married at 19!
Fleeing to London with her Gran and best friend we flip forward 15 years....

Now, it's pretty obvious right from the first few pages just where this story will end up - but omg! it's an utterly hilarious journey from start to finish!

I loved Natalie's character. I faltered at the start - I mean leaving her man at the altar is not cool! But seeing just how her life had planned out since, I really warmed to her.
After a string of failed relationships behind her, could boyfriend Ben be the one?
Will Hollywood heartthrob, Ryan, make her theatre the best in London?
Or will the return of Jamie opening a rival theatre just over the road, be the thing that puts her over the edge!?

The events and disasters following are almost slapstick in nature - crazy, but just believable enough and had me totally hooked!

I believe that this author usually writes crime/thriller so this was a huge step away from that! But quite honestly, they have totally nailed their first foray into rom-com!
This was packed with humour from all angles. The characterisation, the narrative, the storyline and all the interactions and dynamics just worked perfectly.

I loved all of Natalie's family - just wait for the christening scenes! - but my favourite character has got to be Natalie's Hungarian Gran, Anoushka!
She's exactly how I'd like to be at her age! Outspoken, no fear and loyal forever!
Some of the things she comes out with just had me laughing out loud!

This one didn't quite end as I'd expected though!
Plotwise it was fine, but the final scene leaves me wondering whether there might be another book to follow - where we see what happens next for Natalie and her love-life?.....

Either way, I can't wait to see what comes next from this author!!

Thank you to NetGalley and Raven Street Publishing for the audiobook version of this book. I am not compensated in any way for my review. Everything I write is my own thoughts, feelings, and opinions.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun read. It goes to show that when we are younger we may not know what we want for life. We are completly different person from 20's to 30's. One thing always rings true is love is strong.

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for an audio arc of Miss Wrong and Mr RIght by Robert Bryndza in exchange of an honest review.

"Miss Wrong and Mr Right" by Robert Bryndza is a delightful and entertaining read. The story revolves around Natalie, a Theatre Manager, as she finds herself caught in the midst of a theatre world filled with eccentric characters that are truly diverse and captivating.

However, one drawback of the book is the pacing of the plot. It takes a while to establish a clear direction, and the resolution feels a bit rushed towards the end. Despite this, "Miss Wrong and Mr Right" offers plenty of hilarious situations and a unique glimpse into the theatre world.

. The narrator also deserves praise for their impressive ability to bring the different voices and accents to life giving life to the book through her voice. I give it a solid 3.5 Stars

Overall, "Miss Wrong and Mr Right" is a decent listen that will keep you entertained with its humor and memorable characters.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Raven Street Publishing for gifting me both a digital and audio ARC of this romantic comedy novel by Robert Bryndza and narrated by Jan Kramer.

According to NetGalley, the release date for both the digital and audio versions of this book was December 8, 2023, but I’ve also found that the book was first published in 2016. I wish the publisher had provided more context on NetGalley to explain this.

This book centers on the daily life of Natalie Love, who runs a successful theater in London’s West End, and is about to host one of Hollywood’s leading stars. Though a variety of ups and downs and laugh out loud, cringe-worthy, and heartwarming moments, Natalie discovers more about who she is and who her “one” might, or might not, be. I found Natalie’s character to be entertaining, but not entirely relatable. I wanted her to have a bit more depth, but that’s often sacrificed in this genre. But, I adored the cast of supporting characters, especially that of her Gran, which were presented as colorful and comical caricatures.

While I enjoyed the overall premise of the book, my reading experience would have been dramatically enhanced if this book was edited more carefully. Now, I will proudly own that I am a grammar snob. I found the inconsistent use of punctuation, particularly commas and question marks, to be extremely distracting, to the point that I had to switch to the audiobook version in order to complete the book. Editing is such a critical part of the reading experience, and it was sorely neglected in this case. However, switching to the audiobook version ended up being a very pleasant surprise, as Jan Kramer masterfully managed a variety of accents and provided a smoothness to the story that the text alone was sorely lacking.

I found the book’s treatment and stereotyping of homosexuality to be very problematic. Assuming that a group of women is “a group of lesbians” with no context other than the fact that they enjoy watching a curling match? Insinuating that because a male coworker is gay, that women can feel free to engage in “guilt-free ogling”? There was so much potential in this book to develop more robust characters, and that potential was largely squandered on generic characterizations and offensive clichés.

I read this book as a lighter read after several denser ones, and found it to fit that bill well. If you’re looking for a light, silly read that would translate well to a troped-up rom-com movie, this will not disappoint. If you’re looking for a rom-com with a bit more meat, I’d look elsewhere.

Thank you to Raven Street Publishing for the opportunity to listen and review the audiobook of Miss Wrong and Mr Right by Robert Bryndza.

I went into this audiobook completely blind, as I hadn't heard of Bryndza's work before, but I was very pleasantly surprised! This book was good fun, it skewed more comedy than romantic, but that's exactly what I needed after reading a longer thriller before this.

Natalie Love isn't afraid to speak her mind, even though it often gets her in trouble! She's a strong, independent woman, much like her wonderful Grandmother, though sometimes she forgets that along the way. This story had a ton of laugh out loud moments, some of them cringe-worthy, but it also had a lot of heart, and I even found myself crying towards the end, with some very heartfelt and poignant moments.

I really enjoyed this story, and I'm looking forward to picking up more of Bryndza's work in the future!

This book is about Natalie Love and her story of finding the RIGHT one. After leaving her fiancé Jamie on the altar on their wedding day, 19-year old Natalie decided to go with her Gran to London. 15 years later, she is now a manager of a theater in London, and she sees Jamie who also works in the theater industry. With Jamie's company establishing a pop-up theater in front of Natalie's, things start to get a little personal in this competition.
I really enjoyed this book. This felt like a dogshow of several real-life celebrities who were mentioned in the book. It was hilarious and had me giggling a lot. For me the star of the show was Natalie's Gran, Anushka. She is a sassy Hungarian woman and the narrator did a fantastic job on the accent. The whole time I was picturing Sheldon's Meemaw from Young Sheldon; they gave off very similar vibes. I love how halfway through the book I was still guessing whom Natalie is gonna end up with. The ending was a nice one and I'm satisfied with how it ended. I can imagine this book being turned into a romcom movie.

I had a fun time listening to this audiobook and I recommend this to everyone who is looking for a fun read.

This is a romantic comedy written in the more cringey British-style humor. Some was just a bit too much for me. It felt a bit like Bridget Jones’ Diary because it was about a 30 something year old woman with multiple possible love interests and a kind of quirky yet girl-boss vibe to her. She also has odd and embarrassing things that happen to her which again, some are pretty cringe. As a main character, Natalie was mostly likable, although not very relatable to me personally. My biggest unpopular opinion is that Gran was not my favorite character. I know she was supposed to be the comedic relief, but I for sure didn’t like her jokes, especially at the beginning. The romance plot was also sub-par to me. No one got enough one-on-one time for you to want her to end up with anyone specifically. It wasn’t a let down who she chose, more so that I didn’t feel invested either way. Sadly, this book was just 2 stars for me. An entire star is for the audiobook performance, which I think was read very well. Still, I am thankful to NetGalley and Raven Street Publishing for the audio ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I have read all of Robert's books, both crime and humour, this was his first humorous book in years and it was well worth waiting for. Even through the audiobook you can pick up the humour. A good book to listen to on the beach

This funny and fast moving story had me laughing and cringing at the same time!

Natalie Love is a runaway 19 year old bride that flees to London after breaking up with Jamie her fiance.

Flash forward 15 or so years later and life is good for Natalie. A steady but kind of quirky boyfriend and a meaningful career in the theatre as managing director.....till Jamie walks back into her life. Well he moves his theatre production across the street!

What happens next is ups and downs, even sleeping with a US movie star for Natalie.

The supporting characters, especially her grandmother make this story a hit.

It was fun following Natalie juggling these men. A riot of a read!!!

Thank you Netgalley, Raven Street Publishing, and Mr Bryndza for the ALC! Here is my honest review in exchange:

I have only known Bryndza for his crime novels. So when I realized he wrote a rom-com, I had to check it out for myself.
I have never really liked the love triangle trope, but this book somehow nailed it. The focus wasn't too much on it, we could see the daily struggles of Nat, which were somehow really entertaining.
The characters were a bit flat, but as a romcom, it is not too bad. I adored the character of Anushka, the Grandma. I am Hungarian, so it was exceptionally funny to see her.
Benjamin and her yoga antics were hilarious and irritating at the same time, perfectly balanced.
I wasn't fond of the ending, because it was a bit too on the nose for me, but all's well when it ends well. They deserve happiness together.

First Five Star
Immerse yourself in the delightful fusion of one of my cherished authors and a captivating romcom, resulting in an exceptional literary experience. My day unfolded with the enchanting narrative as the backdrop to my work, transforming a five-hour shift into a joyous escapade. Despite my initial reservations about romance, this book won me over completely. As a devoted enthusiast of Robert Bryndza's thrilling novels, adding this gem to my collection was a no-brainer.

Venturing into the realm of romantic comedy, originally published in 2016, I eagerly embraced the opportunity to explore whether Rob Bryndza could seamlessly transition from crime fiction to romcom. The answer, I discovered, was a resounding yes.

The audiobook, skillfully narrated by the incredibly talented Jan Cramer, proved to be a highlight. Cramer's mastery in effortlessly switching between diverse accents added an extra layer of enjoyment to the overall experience.

In typical romcom fashion, the storyline unfolded with lightheartedness and frivolity, featuring Natalie as the central character entangled in a love 'rectangle' with three men. While one contender bowed out early on, the suspense regarding the remaining two persisted until the satisfying conclusion, sprinkled with laughter throughout.

Beyond the narrative, what truly captivated me were the characters – an area where Bryndza consistently excels, even outside the crime fiction genre exemplified by his Erika Foster series. While romcoms often rely on stereotypes, Bryndza skillfully transformed them into comical caricatures. From Benjamin, the yoga guru, to Gran, the glamorous Hungarian immigrant with a colorful romantic history, each character brought a unique charm, leaving me both enamored and amused. Gran, in particular, remains a personal favorite, and while I entertain the hopeful notion of her receiving her own book, I acknowledge it might be wishful thinking.

This romcom adventure has solidified my admiration for Bryndza's versatility as an author who seamlessly navigates between crime/thrillers and romance. I eagerly anticipate any future forays into this genre and would undoubtedly become an avid supporter of such endeavors. Completing this book in a single sitting, I wholeheartedly recommend making time for it – the perpetual smile it imparts is well worth the investment. A resounding five-star read awaits you as you embark on a journey to meet the Love family. Click the link below and immerse yourself in the charm and humor that await.

This audiobook just wasn’t my favorite at all. I was really excited to get this, but I found it a bit predictable and it just didn’t capture my focus. It was still decent though!

I love this author’s crime thrillers so was quite excited to read a rom-com by them.

This was fun and entertaining, I literally laughed out loud so many times throughout. I went in totally blind not knowing what to expect and I’m, so glad I did. Namaste 🙏

We meet Natalie Love who runs a successful London theatre company. She’s in a relationship with a yoga guru, after leaving former flame Jamie at the alter. She now finds out that he is is now in London and running a new theatre company just down the road from hers.

Natalie and her company about to launch a new show staring Hollywood heartthrob Ryan Harrison. Let’s just say that things start going pear shaped when ex lover Jamie and his new glamorous partner enter the scene. Relationships are tested and a chaotic feud ensures.

The winner for me in this book was the Natalies Gran, Anouska! She’s a Hungarian born power force and funny as f*&k!

Many thanks to Raven Street Publishing for an ALC. The audio narration by Jan Cramer was simply brilliant and added to the overall enjoyment of this wickedly funny book.

This was such a fun, smart, and entertaining audiobook! I loved main character Natalie Love. It was so easy to become invested in what was going on in her life, especially alongside her hilarious Hungarian Grandmother. I love a good second chance story, especially one that makes me laugh out loud one minute and cry the next. There were a lot of emotional events taking place throughout. It mostly takes place in London’s theatre district, and I was a big fan of the way the author depicted the settings, it was so easy to imagine. I thought the narration by Jan Cramer was fantastic! Thank you NetGalley and Raven Street Publishing for this ALC!

Exactly what I needed for my commute to work this week. Miss Wrong & Mr. Right was funny and just what I needed for my commute this week! I loved the characters and the narrator did a wonderful job differentiating between them.

This book was a whirlwind of activity. With all of the book's activity taking place in approximately a month, breaking up with a boyfriend, competing theaters, a former fiancé, starting a production, awards ceremonies, a grandma moving in and family drama just make this story hilarious and fast paced. It was a highly enjoyable read and a lot of fun.

I’m not exactly a fan of romcoms but I most certainly am of Robert Bryndza, so I jumped at the chance of listening to the audio of this book, which was originally published in 2016. Could Rob possibly pull off the romcom as well as he does crime fiction? I was keen to find out.

On the whole, I found this funny and entertaining, in large part due to the fantastic narration by the incredibly talented Jan Cramer, whose ability to switch between multiple accents is nothing short of remarkable.

As with a lot of romcoms, the story is lighthearted and frivolous, with Natalie the main protagonist caught in a love ‘rectangle’ with three men. One of them drops out of the picture early on, but we’re kept guessing about the other two right up until the end, with lots of laughs along the way.

What impressed me more than the storyline, though, were the characters, something that Bryndza does so well in his crime fiction (think Erika Foster). Romcoms are usually populated by stereotypes, and here is no different. But Bryndza displays an enviable skill for fashioning these into hilarious caricatures. From Benjamin the yoga guru to Gran the glamorous Hungarian immigrant, with a whole string of lovers in her wake, I loved and chuckled at them all.

I don’t think I’d rush out and buy any future books by Bryndza in this genre. It’s a cluttered market, cornered by a well-established cadre of authors, and romcoms are not really my thing anyway. Plus, Rob’s strength is clearly in crime fiction and thrillers, which I will continue to buy and enjoy.
