Millie works for the Homeland Defense Department and is also sent to work with Angus Force's Deep Ops team. She is also an inventor of all sorts of gadgets. She went undercover to plant listening devices in a mans office where she runs into Scott.
Scott was a marine in a special unit but now is a defense lawyer. He is at the same office and can't believe Millie is dressed as an AC repair person. Them running into each other messes up both of their cases.
Millie gets a call that her great aunt is in the hospital and goes back home. The next thing she knows, she wakes up in her ex's bed, covered in blood, and her special knife near by. Her ex is dead and she calls the police. She is arrested and the Chief calls Scott. Scott rushes to the jail and they start investigating the murder. But a hit squad tries to kill them, Molotov cocktails get thrown in her house, and Millie is kidnapped. Can Scott get to her in time?
OMG!!! I believe this is my favorite book! Plenty of action. Nail biting suspense. An alcoholic dog. There are several parts that will have you giggling out loud. Sex. Two " sort of " friends to lovers. Millie is not a fan of lawyers. Scott has demons from his marine days and being shot in the chest.

Lots of action and suspense. It’s a pretty fast paced book. Scott and Millie are a scorching couple together. Scott is beyond alpha, so there was plenty of steamy scenes. The description of the setting made me feel as though I was there with them. The writing is fabulous. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book.
