This was a fun return to the world of Harmony with an interesting take on the unique energies of the planet and how they can be manipulated. I would have loved to learn more about the alien technology that was discovered in Glass House. Based on the author's note at the end, it sounds like Leona's story is forthcoming, and given her talents and occupation, it will include more information on all of this.

I would have to say the one drawback to this story was the romance aspect. While there was some chemistry between the H/h, the actual 'romantic' scenes did not feel organic to the storyline. I'm honestly at the point where I would happily welcome a straight up sci-fi novel set on Harmony, sans romance. It's the world-building that Castle has done so far that keeps me coming back for more.

Through NetGalley, I received a free copy of PEOPLE IN GLASS HOUSES (Book 17 of the Harmony Futuristic Romance series) by Jayne Castle in exchange for an honest review. Joshua Knight is hiding from the world in a haunted house. Joshua is the sole known survivor from an expedition into a new sector of the underground. Whatever happened caused Joshua to lose his memory and to suffer psychic damage. Molly Griffin’s sister was part of the doomed expedition, and she wants answers. So, when she finally manages to locate Joshua, she is determined to pin him down and pry answers from him. In order to get access to what Joshua doesn’t know he knows, Molly must survive a night in the haunted mansion.

I like this book and enjoy the series. I recommend the book and the series to fans of futuristic paranormal romance featuring relic hunters, psychics, mysteries, aliens, and alien animal sidekicks with lint looks, sassy attitudes, and voracious appetites.

I always enjoy books by this author, no matter what name she’s writing under. As Jayne Castle, she writes fantasy about the world of Harmony. PEOPLE IN GLASS HOUSES is the latest book in the long running Harmony series. Here we meet Molly and her sister, Leona, who were raised in an orphanage but later adopted by two private detectives. As they get older, they find out that they were genetically engineered and developed special psych talents. When Leona goes missing on an expedition that is exploring the underworld, Molly sets out to find her. Her first step was to find Joshua Knight, the leader of this expedition, who left the underworld slightly damaged.

As always, a lovely fantasy novel by a talented author. No natter which of her pseudonyms she is writing under, you can always expect and receive an entertaining read.

Joshua Knight has had a hard month. He barely made it out alive of the tunnels and then self-checked him out a mental institution a week later. He's holed up in an abandon mansion in the desert fighting the pull of a nightly magic fog. Molly Griffin is determined to help Josh regain his psychic senses and his memories. She needs him to lead her to the rest of the expedition. Her sister's life depends on it.

Why I started this book: Krentz, writing as Castle is amazing consistent in hitting the right notes of a romance book. She knows the genre and her audience, so I eager and confidently requested an ARC from Netgalley.

Why I finished it: Loved Joshua's deadpan humor and Molly's determination. Solid book and a great turnaround for a reading slump.

This book is more than meets the eye and more than we learn about in the blurb. Molly and Joshua teaming up to find the missing team including her sister only scratches the surface to the excitement in this book.
Let’s back up a minute. The story starts with a young Molly and a tragedy the befell her that led to something wonderful. A young Leona rescues her sister first so how can Molly not to the same. Molly is more talented as an adult that she realizes and is braver than she believes when driven by the love of a sister. She is also the perfect match for a supposedly psi-burned Joshua. The two of them are a perfect complement to each other and provide the other with what they did not know they needed. The characters in this book are very well developed and really feel like a family. In addition, the chemistry between Molly and Joshua is strong. He kisses her until he drops unconscious. How is that for chemistry? The adventure for our team does not end with the rescue of the Expedition team.
We also have more than one dirty rotten scoundrel out of harm our team. Those scoundrels may have been a bit on the nose, but it was fun watching them get theirs.
Also fun, we got a visit from our couple from Guild Boss as they arrived at the altar. They also helped Molly and Joshua along the way. Catching up on great characters from other books always adds to the reading experience.
With Leona’s book on the way, we know we will learn more about the girl’s origin story and enjoy more adventure with this terrific found family. This book like all the others in Harmony was good and I enjoyed it. The land where the story takes place may be alien to us but comes alive on the page. I could practically see the Underground world that Leona was explorers with others from her university and I could tell it was eerily beautiful. Again, I recommend this book and this series.
Thanks to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Fun addition to the series. I enjoyed Molly being an artist and not an intrepid explorer. She does everything in her power to get her sister back and her dustbunny Newton is the perfect sidekick.
The romance is good, good chemistry between the two of them.
I liked how there is a new mystery about Molly and Leona's origin. I look forward to learning more.

read in one sitting, solid 3.5

This is the 10th in the Harmony series. If you haven’t read any of this series then you are missing a ton of wit, romance, and a dash of science fiction/fantasy. We meet Molly and her sister, Leona, who were raised in an orphanage but later adopted by two private detectives. As they get older, they find out that they were genetically engineered and developed special psych talents. When Leona goes missing on an expedition that is exploring the underworld, Molly sets out to find her. Her first step was to find Joshua Knight, the leader of this expedition, who left the underworld slightly damaged. Molly believed that Joshua could help her find Leona and the rest of the team if she helped him with his dreams. Read to find out if Joshua was able to help Molly find his lost team, is there romance in the air between them both, who if anyone wanted the take this team, and why. I highly recommend this book and hope that you enjoy your time in the Harmony World. Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for providing an advanced reader’s copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Jayne Castle's are probably my favorites of the Jane/Amanda/Jayne world - and this one is, like all of them, fun and engaging. In an increasingly embattled world outside our windows, dust bunnies are one answer to the stress of daily living.

The latest from the Jayne Castle world. Molly is looking for her sister who has been missing in the underground for a month so she seeks out the navigator from the team that returned. ARC from NetGalley

In Jayne Castle’s newest addition to the HARMONY series, she gives us two tortured “Talents” who were made for one another.
Literally.
Molly Griffin and her sister were genetically engineered to be psi-talents. Raised in an orphanage, they were adopted after one of them was kidnapped and then recovered by a duo of investigators. Now grown, each girl has their own special psych talents.
Joshua Knight comes from a respectable family of para-hunters and elite movers and shakers. A psi event causes him to lose his powers ( or so he thinks) and he winds up escaping from a psych ward.
Together, these two solve a mystery that involves Molly’s sister and a room full of treasure.
As usual, this newest tale was told with the wit, brevity, and master storytelling of Ms Castle. A mystery wrapped up in a love story that’s cocooned in a sci-fi fantasy, PEOPLE IN GLASS HOUSES Is a wonderful addition to the series and I highly recommend it.

This is listed as the tenth book in the Harmony series and it takes place on Harmony, a planet settled by colonists in the late twenty-first century. This is a Science Fiction romance. If you haven’t read any previous books in the series, not to worry, the author has a summary of the Harmony world in a note at the start of the book.

Molly and Leona were placed in a School for Orphan girls when they were babies. They are not sisters by blood, however they grew up together and are very close. Molly is kidnapped one day when they are swinging on the playground and Leona gets help from the lady detective agency next door. They find Molly in the ruins below the city with a dust bunny, a clever scruffy pet she names Newton and they convince the lady detectives to adopt them. As they grow older they discover that like many of the settlers on Harmony, they have special psychic powers - Molly and Leona’s powers are very strong.

Molly tunes crystals and is creating an energy circle for a celebrity power couple’s wedding when she gets word that Leona has gone missing on an archeologic expedition in the ruins. The only one to make it out is Joshua Knight, an underworld navigator who had lead the expedition. Molly and her dust bunny go to find him at his home in The Funhouse, a haunted house full of mirrors. I don’t want to give too much away about what happened to Joshua but it’s special when Molly helps him heal using her special talents.

Molly and Joshua have a magical connection as they search for Leona. They are a good match and I enjoyed watching their romance grow as they explore The Funhouse and the ruins to find Leona and search for answers to the mysteries that surround them.

There is also an underlying mystery that intertwines through the series that started with a villain named Taggert Spooner - yikes, she chose my name for the villain! I think it’s helpful to read another book in the series first and I think Guild Boss is a good choice because it ties in with this book.

There are some fun things that made me smile, especially the dust bunnies. Newton somehow manages to become an influencer for Zing Chips! There are also self-driving cars.

There were places in the story where I felt it bogged down talking about crystals and I wanted more romance and more of Molly and Joshua together without their focus being solely on the mystery. I always appreciate the author’s subtle humor and would love to have seen even more.

I think I’ve read all of Jayne Castle/Amanda Quick/Jayne Krentz’s books and I’m thankful for her comforting reads. I look forward to Leona’s story in the next Harmony book. Thank you to Jayne Castle, Berkley and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book.

Josh and Molly are great in the continuation of this series. I love how one story flows into another and you meet people from past episodes. Harmony is a very interesting paranormal universe. Once you get into it you have to continue reading about it

Can’t get enough of this one. Jayne Castle is a fantastic writer and they prove it again with this book. It was an absolute banger with the action, thrill and that angsty romance.

I love Jayne Castle’s Harmony books. This one is a little bit different than the recent ones as Guild Bosses play a VERY small part. This one has dust bunnies (of course), crystals, great characters and best of all another book with the sister star of this book coming next.

I knew as soon as I started reading that this would be another winner, a dust bunny playing center stage is a sure winner in a Jayne Castle title.
