Jurassic Jeff: Race to Warp Speed
Overall Rating: ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ (4/5) or 8.57/10 overall

Characters - 8
The characters in this book are simple but fun and engaging. Each character is recognizable and has certain character traits and motivations that help to create the silly atmosphere throughout the story.

Atmosphere - 9
The atmosphere is mostly established through the setting, which feels whimsical and vast. The landscapes and background help to cement where the characters stand in their situation well.

Writing - 9
The comedic timing in this book is everything. The whit and quips that the characters give really help to make this book work for me. This is heightened by certain moments where the group gets really dramatic about little things.

Plot - 8
The plot was nothing crazy but it picked up well from where the last one left off and had many inventive elements throughout. The story wasn't predictable, but it wasn't super complex either.

Intrigue - 9
I was intrigued from the start. After learning that Jurassic Jeff was getting a sequel, I knew I had to read it. The original had so much heart and humor, and Race to Warp Speed did not disappoint. While this book didn't follow up the first in the way I expected, it was still a worthwhile, entertaining read.

Logic - 8
Ignoring the fact that this book follows a group of dinosaurs, a dragonfly, an alien, and a fish with legs, it was quite logical. Considering the setting and comedic atmosphere, nothing in the book seemed unreasonable or illogical.

Enjoyment - 9
I enjoyed this book from start to finish. I'm looking forward to the inevitable third book, since this book does end on a bit of a cliffhanger. I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a quick and easy read featuring dinosaurs, aliens, and a whole lot of laughs. :)

What an entertaining and wild ride of a graphic novel this was!
Perfect for younger readers, middle-grade-aged kids will be glued to the pages and giggling as they fly through the story – this is how I feel about this book. Books like this one are the ones that in the long run turn reluctant readers into avid readers. You give them something weird, funny, and action-filled, and they learn that reading is fun. And this is exactly what this book does. It is silly, it is laugh-inducing, and it is so, so entertaining.
Also, the drawings are great and fun!

Jurassic Jeff finds the reader following a small alien and a group of friendly and somewhat mistake-prone dinosaurs through the prehistoric world in search of a part to fix the alien spacecraft - but it turns out that they aren't the only ones looking for this important part! Epic battles ensue. Will one of the groups be left without the part to fix their ship? Will they find other aliens on Earth? There are several hints at another book in the series that will leave fans of Jurassic Jeff hoping it will come out in the near future.

Engaging graphics, an easily digestible text, and a good dose of humor will draw in any child interested in aliens, dinosaurs, graphic novels, or a funny read. Recommended ages 7-12.

Jeff the alien is ready to take his dino-friends on a quest to find their missing family. . that is if he can remember where he put his warp drive first.

These books are silly in a great way.
