Thank you to Simon Teen for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion.
For those who loved Solomon’s first book, Yesterday Today Tomorrow, readers will enjoy this sequel. Having Neil’s POV as well as we see Rowan and Neil head off to separate colleges was so interesting and fun to read. Their love for each other is prevalent throughout, and it’s a refreshing read on long distance relationships. The novel was more self-reflecting, a story on finding yourself, than romance. The beginning of the novel felt a little slow to me, with a lot of introduction that felt drawn out. But once the novel hit midway, it picked up fast and before I knew it, they had finished their first year of college. I really enjoyed the look at interpersonal relationships, making friends in college, dealing with writer’s block, and depression. It was a great look at what college feels like, which I feel is often underrepresented. Skyler was a great addition, as well as Rowan’s professor. I was also surprised at how spicy this book was! I think Rachel wrote those scenes very well.
Overall, very enjoyable read!
Tropes:
Sequel
College romance
Long distance relationship
Mental health
Spice:
2.5/5

I absolutely adored TODAY TONIGHT TOMORROW and was thrilled to see where life took Rowan and Neil after high school gradution in PAST PRESENT FUTURE (contemporary, romantic YA) It was perfection.
Listen- it's been a long time since my college days. But I am a sucker for nostalgia and this was dripping with it. All the best bits. That sense of one thing ending mixed with the trepidation of the next big adventure. The angst that comes with relationships- platonic and romantic. The things that can only truly happen when you're in the time "between'
This is an example of YA done well. The characters were smart, witty, realistic and complicated. The story was endearing, heartfelt and FUN. The feelings that come along with trying to maintain a long-distance relationship while experiencing college felt so very real.
Sigh- so good!!

I love Rowan and Neal. If Rachel wrote a new book every single year based on just one year of their lives, I would read it.
This story picks up right at the end of the summer after senior year as Rowen and Neal are heading to college.
Rachel does a fantastic job with alternate POVs in capturing the difficulties of living on your own as an adult for the first time, navigating long distance relationships with your significant other, friends, and family, and experiencing depression when you should arguably be happy.
I wanted to just hug both of them throughout the entire book and I will be forever grateful that she gave us these characters and chose to return to their story one more time for us.

I am a big ball of emotions right now.
I finished book one earlier today, and was lucky enough to have this arc to immediately jump into.
Where book 1 was fun and sweet and silly (a YA Nick and Norah’s infinite playlist) book 2 is real life and adulthood punching you in the face.
Neil and Rowan go off to college and realize the world is much bigger than they are, and deal with a lot of big feelings for the first time.
I think this captured pressure to be perfect and struggling with your mental health perfectly. I love that this is dual POV’s. I love that our focus is on Neil and how raw and authentic his perspective is. I got VERY emotional during this. The ending and epilogue were perfect in every way. This is a book I’m going to carry with me for a very long time.
Go read book 1 and then preorder this one asap.

Language enthusiasts Neil and Rowan have fallen in love since the last day of high school and are about to face their biggest challenge: long distance, as they head off to different colleges. They both face individual challenges in their new environments, adding pressure to their relationship. As they each navigate their first year of college—and all the emotional difficulties of growing up—they wonder if their love is strong enough.
This book was adorable, and I would love to recommend it to my students! It’s a very cute romance that’s ~mostly~ PG-13 and I think most teens would find the main characters’ angst to be relatable.
With that said, I did struggle to relate to these characters but I think that just means I’m getting old 🥲
I did not read the first book in this series but I will definitely be going back and in order to get the backstory of these two high school sweethearts.
Overall, it was enjoyable but I would recommend to a younger audience.

***Thank you to Simon and Schuster Children's Publishing, NetGalley, and Rachel Lynn Solomon for the ARC. I will be posting reviews online closer to publish date***
My Grade: B+ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Being able to revisit Rowan and Neil's love story and their continued journey was wonderful and I didn't want it to end!
Spice Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️😳 out of 5. This is way more steamy than Today Tonight Tomorrow, and I absolutely loved it! I thought the intimacy between Rowan and Neil was incredibly sweet, honest, real, and absolutely gorgeous to read.
The Good Stuff:
--The chemistry and love that Rowan and Neil share just jumps off the pages and is beautiful to witness.
--Neil's mental health journey had me completely captivated. As someone who also struggles with depression and anxiety, I appreciated the way the representation was presented, truthful and real..
--I enjoyed the new supporting characters, especially Skyler, Adhira, and Prof. Miranda!
--Thank you so much for the epilogue! I could honestly read more of Neil and Rowan! I honestly could read an entire book of them just watching television and be completely enthralled with them.
--Thank you for more of Lucy the dog!
The Meh:
--After reading the Today Tonight Tomorrow, this book was such a 180. I wish that there were more moments of fun, a bit more whimsy, especially since there was so much hardship, sadness, and really tough scenes to get through.

I truly loved this book from start to finish and this is coming from someone who did not real the first book (Today, Tonight, Tomorrow). I was able to fully understand this book without reading the first one which is a sign of the amazing writing and the points the author made in connection to the previous book. The dual point of views was a way I was able to see where both of the main characters were coming from which made me fall in love with their story and their personality from both of their own perspectives. Although it's been a few years since I was a freshman in college I was able to relate to both of the main characters experiences in transitioning to college as well as their own battles with their families and friends. I could not recommend this book enough to anyone who enjoys reading YA/coming of age type of books. This book made me smile and laugh to finding myself tearing up at certain parts. I will cherish these two characters forever and wish I could re-read this book! I am appreciative of the representation that young relationships and mental health had in this book and thought the author portrayed "real life" struggles and experiences very well.

I wanted to love this book so much. I really enjoyed book 1 but I think this book just wasn’t for me. i think i just struggled with the whole thing feeling so awkward between Rowan and Neil. I understand that it comes with the territory of long distance college relationships but it just felt like issue after issue with not much happy mixed in. the last 25% of this book really saved it (as much as possible) for me. i appreciated Neil’s storyline a lot in this book. However, it felt a little like a dark cloud was hanging over there relationship the whole time and that is just not the kind of book I like to spend my time reading. i love that they got their happy ending though!

I have been SO excited that there’s a sequel to T3 & it didn’t disappoint! Rowan and Neil navigate a long-distance relationship, burnout, freshman year of college, mental health issues, and more as they answer the age-old question: What happens after the HEA of a romance novel?
With Rachel Lynn Solomon’s usual captivating prose, this book was a delight to read and is one of very few unplanned sequels that are just as good as the original novel.

Holy Cow! I loved Today Tonight Tomorrow, so when I saw this on Netgalley, I had to have it. No surprise that I devoured it. I have read all of Solomon’s books, and have fallen in love with her characters. Her gift; writing lovable people who I would want as my close friends.
This book took turns I didn’t see coming, which is always so fun. Nothing I predicted came to fruition. Rowan and Neil’s love story is enviable, and believable. I can’t decide if I would have chosen NY or Boston, but their college experiences were fun to read about.
Thank you, Netgalley, for allowing me an arc of this book. I will continue to keep Solomon high on my reading list. She has never disappointed me.

Having been a fan of Rachel Lynn Solomon's previous novels, I was excited to receive an ARC for this book. I'm thrilled to say it met all my expectations. The author once again demonstrates her talent for crafting relatable characters and weaving a narrative filled with just the right amount of tension. I found myself fully immersed in the characters' experiences, feeling the raw emotions of their separation as well as the moments of joy when they were together. The author adeptly captures the challenges and uncertainties of early adulthood, portraying the complexities of growing up with authenticity and empathy adding a layer of depth to the book.

I loved this book. It's beautifully written and is an amazing sequel to an amazing book! I was not really sure what to expect when I heard that Rachel Solomon was writing another Rowan and Neil book. The first book is so wonderfully unique, full of friendship, warm summer nights, and love. A fabulous read, but I, like others, was also curious how this story would play out in the long run. This book, the second one, solved all my burning questions.
I said it before but I'll say it again, this book was so beautifully written. I could feel Neil and Rowan's pain at being separated and their joy when they were together. Rachel Solomon did such a good job of writing the amazing bond Rowan and Neil share. Whether they are together or apart, their love for each other just flows right off the page. You cant help but cheer for them, feel their sorrows, and their happiness. It was really interesting to read about their long distance relationship and how they navigate it. I loved how both characters are exploring two different cities and, at the same time, their own identities. The book touched on several important topics- mental health, relationships, and starting in a new place. Not only was this book romantic and swoony, it was also emotional and compelling. I couldn't get enough of this story, and am so glad I got to read it!
They confessed their feelings on the last day of high school. Once sworn enemies, the two become a couple. They spend the whole summer together, but soon it's time for them to go to college. Rowan is heading to Boston to study writing and Neil is headed t0 NYU. Their relationship now becomes long distance and soon the miles between Boston and New York seem infinite. Over phone calls, weekend getaways, and school breaks the two continue to see each other. But being miles away from each other is bound to take a toll on their relationship. Does absence really make the heart grow fonder? What does the next chapter look like for Rowan and Neil?
Overall, loved this book- perfect, absolutely AMAZING! Emotional, compelling, truly beautiful. Thank you to Net Galley and Simon and Schuster Children's Publishing for giving me the opportunity to read this amazing book!

the sequel we all needed!!! absolutely amazing to return to these characters and see how they navigate life in college and their relationship i love u neil for forever!!

although slow to get its bearings, ppf felt like a warm hug. a very very real portrayal of what it feels like to be a freshman at college in an entirely new environment! getting to see rowan and neil’s story develop further was so lovely and a must read if you loved ttt like me!!! although i will admit that this book needed more seattle… i loved ttt because of all the seattle references (as i am from seattle and go to uni in seattle) and i needed more … but i get it. we all must leave at one point.
4.5 stars because ttt got 5 and it is not /as/ good as ttt but definitely worth the read. they are just so special to me.
READ IF YOU: have read ttt, interested in the “what happens after the happily ever after”, like the academic rivals to lovers dynamic, enjoy college aus
a huge thank you to Simon & Schuster and NetGalley / RLS’s agent who responded to my email for the arc!! preorder this book or buy it when it comes out on june 4th :)

What happens after happily ever after? That’s the question Rachel Lynn Solomon attempts to answer with this sequel to Today Tonight Tomorrow. Rowan and Neil had a whirlwind day together on the last day of school, but what now? Will their newfound love survive the long distance of college in two different cities? Told through their alternating perspectives, Rowan and Neil navigate college life and each other as they are no longer rivals at the top of their class. While the college experience portrayed by Solomon is genuine, it was just kind of boring. Rowan’s writer’s block, which is ironically heavily explained over several pages and chapters, is especially monotonous. Neil’s mental health struggles and his storyline with his father were interesting but occurred near the end and wasn’t explored on the page nearly enough. Today Tonight Tomorrow was fun, but sometimes what happens after happily ever after is just boring real life that doesn’t need a book dedicated to it.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

“We gave the speeches the characters deliver in all my romance novels. The declarations of love. Period, underlined, THE END in big bold letters.
What comes after that?”
🗽
We fell in love with Rowan and Neil as they fell in love with one another in twenty-fours the night of graduation. Now it’s the end of summer and they’re still in love, but are headed to NYC and Boston, each pursuing their own dreams. What comes next is the hardest year either has experienced before. They’ll need to rely on their friends, family, each other and themselves now more than ever. Can they make it out of their first college year still together?

I’m writing this with tears down my face. The sequel to Today Tonight and Tomorrow was everything I wanted and more. It was so authentic, real, messy—both heartbreaking and uplifting. I would categorize this one more on the New Adult side since the characters are older now, in college, and have more mature experiences so for high school readers and above. I can’t wait for fans of @rlynn_solomon to love Rowan and Neil even more when this book releases June 4.
CW: mental health issues, depression, prison, alcohol, domestic abuse (recounted), alcoholism, panic attacks, vomit

Rowan and Neil’s relationship has been ever evolving. They’ve gone from academic rivals to lovers after they worked together to win their high school’s senior game of Howl. Now they are long- distance dating and finding it an extremely difficult situation to deal with. Rowan’s struggles with writer’s block and Neil’s struggles with depression and an incarcerated father that refuses to leave him alone. Despite that, they both feel that they are destined to be together forever- it will just take a lot of effort to stay together as they continue to grow and change as adults. This story talks a lot about how communication is extremely important for all relationships- familial, friendships and romantic relationships. It does have an epilogue, so the author does bring Rowan and Neil’s story to a close.

Rachel Lynn Solomon has become one of my favorite Authors. And I was hooked into this book from the moment I started reading. It was a great story and great character development and I just loved it. I cannot wait to share this book with my patrons at the library!

#NetGalleyARC Yet another great YA read with realistic and relatable characters. I enjoyed this book so much. No spoilers but the way that the author handled the difficulty if starting college, being on your own, and long distance relationships was perfect.

Sequels now feel more and more like money grabs. I enjoyed this book, but it didn't necessarily feel needed? I was content with how our story with Neil and Rowan end in the first book. I enjoyed this book of seeing them grow more in their first year of college. However, I feel like the author could've just given us these key moments in the book as bonus chapters or something? Overall, cute read. But I would say the first book stands on it own as well
