You’re The Problem, It’s You is the perfect Bridgerton like book to read after having a long binging sesh.

That being said, I had a fun time reading this book! The beautiful historic setting, and whimsical(Historic) writing really kept me wanting to read more. It was compelling, intriguing, and filled with angst and acceptance.

Being able to follow each individual character, and their own journey was a lovely experience. Through the found family and unique friendships, I adored it. Especially during the drama, and the palpable tension. I absolutely ate it up.

Now, while there a lot of things I absolutely adored about this book, there were a few things that I did not love.
-The Miscommunication trope. In general, I don’t usually love reading this trope. So when it came up, I had a hard time finding myself enjoy those specific aspects. The way that James and Bobby sometimes avoided and danced around each other really had me punching the air. While I love them both dearly, please communicate, I beg.
-Insta-love. I had a hard time empathizing with this storyline(if that makes sense). I am a lover of the slow-burn, enemies to lovers kind of tropes. Therefore, when James and Bobby changed up their opinions on each other so quickly, I was a little confused. I felt that this went a little too fast for my liking, and would have loved to see some of their pining and decision making in this aspect go on for a little longer.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading this story full of growth, trust, and love. Being able to see both characters grow alone, and with each other was a wonderful experience.

Thank you so much to Netgally, Avon and Harper Voyager, and Emma R. Alban for a chance to experience this wonderful story!

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for an ARC of this book in exchange for my review.

What a fantastic book this was. I was a little weary going in, because I am not typically one for historical romances, but I was so very surprised with this one. It was superbly written, the characters were all well rounded and people I could root for and the main romance between James and Bobby was beautiful, along with Beth and Gwen’s continued romance.

There was just the right amount of smut here, too. Sometimes, it’s not enough and other times it’s too much so this was absolutely perfectly done with the right amount to convey James and Bobby’s heated bond but not being gratuitous with it.

I was very surprised that this ended up being a 5 star read for me, but I am glad it was. I’ve been telling everyone about this book and letting them know when it releases later this month.

This queer regency era book was so cute. I loved the POV from both men's perspective. I loved how they resolved things so they could be together in an era that it was illegal for the two men to be together. They even have to deal with black mail but I love that the families come to support them no matter what

after having a lack of bridgerton content to consume this was the perfect book to pick up and fill that hole again, this was such a fun read! this sequel was a bit better/stronger than the first book and the characters felt a bit more easier to feel invested in but it still felt like something was missing at times. overall this was a fun read, with fun characters and quick to get through!

I’ve realised this author is simply not for me. I DNF’d the first book and had requested this one before I’d even read that one, but now this one is a DNF too.

I find the characters one dimensional and the conversations between them painfully dull.

I really liked the enemies aspect of this building enemies to lovers romance but I found myself too frustrated with everything else going on that just wasn’t working for me.

I don’t think these are bad books though, just not for me!

I really enjoyed this book! I felt the pacing was better in this one than the first book.
It was filled with angst and tension that made me want to keep turning the pages.
I really felt for James, he was so alone in the beginning. But I loved seeing him come out of his shell, start to trust people and truly find the place he belonged.
I loved the ending! I think it wrapped up the duology beautifully!

I requested this book as I was reading the first in this series. Unfortunately, I feel the same as I did in the first book- the pacing was slow and the characters weren’t lovable like I wished they were.

I loved the first in this series, and this one did not disappoint. Bobby and James were sweet and fun! And I’ll read anything with a title related to Taylor Swift!

I love the authors writing even though historical romance is not my favorite. It is nice to change it up!

Thanks to Avon for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I received a free copy of this book thanks to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager; all opinions expressed are exclusively my own.

Of course, OF COURSE I grabbed a book that is second in a duology, but this is a genre I absolutely adore so I snapped it up. While having read the first book would definitely increase your enjoyment of this one, it's not necessary to be able to follow the story or appreciate the plot. There's a good deal of drama, but the super sweet ending more than makes up for it. Solid recommendation for any fans of the genre!

For sensitive readers, there are depictions of child abuse, abusive relationships, sexual assault, and homophobia.

I didn't realize when I started this book that it was the second in a series, and honestly, I was quite confused about what happened in book one, and that took away from some of my enjoyment. I also didn't know how to pronounce Lord Demeroven's name (a little thing, but it irked me). Overall it was a very light-hearted book with a minimum of angst, which I found surprising for the time period. But the characters were fun to spend time with, and I enjoyed seeing how they would work things out. I did think the ending was a bit rushed, though.

This is an amusing follow-up to Don't Want You Like a Best Friend. James and Bobby find themselves pushed together time and again by their cousins, uncle, and Bobby's brother Albie, and it blossoms into a sweet romance. I loved James's character arc entirely, including the anxiety representation. Gwen and Beth are prominent side characters, and it was neat to see their relationship continue. The first half of the book drags at times and is full of miscommunication, so beware if you don't like that, but the last 40% flew by. While it touches on topics like the Medical Act (doctor registration), abusive fathers, and having to hide queerness, it is a mostly lighthearted book that focuses on finding and supporting queer joy.

Thank you to NetGalley and publisher for the opportunity to read and review.

I absolutely adored Don’t Want You Like a Best Friend so when I saw that we were getting a continuation of the series, I was unbelievably excited. I am forever hunting for queer historical romances because it’s a joy to see queer people existing in eras that have been scrubbed clean of our colorful presence, even if it is fictional. This book was just that, a joyful celebration of queer love. There were moments at the beginning where the miscommunication made me want to strangle the MCs but that’s par for the course when I read that particular pet peeve of a trope. The characters themselves were worth pushing through however, and once they ironed out how to actually talk to one another, it was pure delight. Both of our MMCs are broken little things and it was incredibly sweet to see them find someone who could recognize the places they were chipped and handle those parts with tenderness. If you’re getting bogged down in the weeds of their idiocy, just give it a bit and I promise you’ll root for them.

I don’t know how the author would continue this series, but if she writes another installment, I will request it on Netgalley as soon as it becomes available and purchase it once it’s published. I have no doubt it will be just as great as the first two have been.

I found this book pretty entertaining! Having missed the first in the series, I did jump into the characters and their relationships with a bit of a delay, but thankfully was brought up to speed pretty quickly. I thought that without having read the first book, the author did a good job of setting a clear timeframe for the characters. I felt that the book read smoothly, and while I didn't necessarily relate to the characters, I could understand their logic and where they were coming from. I think it took maybe a little bit longer for the characters to "get it" figured out, but I am happy with how it wrapped up.

This book was just as sweet as the first one. Both Bobby and James were very lovable even if James was an absolute jerk to Bobby for the first half of the book haven’t we all been there when we’re trying to conceal a crush. The romance at the core of these books has always felt extremely heartfelt and I always appreciate that the stakes for romance are so much higher in historical romance than in contemporary romance because there’s truly something at stake. I did admittedly got a bit bogged down by all of the side plots and side characters and I did wish that not every single father figure (besides our father figure from the first book) was a drunk verbally abusive asshole. If all dads/stepdads act the same way in the book it was kind of hard to keep ahold of who was who. But other than that I loved Bobby and James’ story.

A fun follow-up to Don't Want You Like a Best Friend and conclusion to the duology, I all but devoured this, especially once it started to pick up about a third of the way in. There was less meddling from Gwen and Beth than I was expecting, and the depth of feelings seemed very quick, but that does all go hand-in-hand with the lighthearted tone of the duology overall.

I think my favorite thing about this book (and the duology overall) is that it both doesn't shy away from the fact that queer relationships were persecuted and had to be hidden, but also shows that these relationships existed, did find ways to be long-lasting, and could be supported. That there could be moments of queer joy and support and love. There's some that stretches the imagination, like the epilogue, but by that point it's all just so sweet that you don't mind.

I wasn't as fully on board with Bobby and James' relationship as I was with Gwen and Beth, mostly because their relationship is just a huge, huge pile of misunderstandings from the very beginning that never really get cleared up. As a dual PoV book, we as a reader get to see where the misunderstandings come from and get a sense of how they're cleared, but neither Bobby nor James actually ever get the words out to each other for why they were both so abrasive to each other at the beginning, which makes how quickly they fall into "I could see forever with him" feelings feel a little like whiplash and make the brief third-act separation feel like something that could keep happening. A lot of this could probably have been helped by tighter plotting, which makes me excited to see what Alban does next.

This book was very funny- if you like the miscommunication trope. I do not- and so the first half was almost unbearable to me. This also felt very modern- not what I want in a historical homance.

Sweet snark and a gorgeous historical setting are the perfect pairing for this romance of clashing rivals to lovers.

THIS WAS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED!!

I was so in the mood for a feel-good, exciting, fresh, historical, page-turner romance. This is that x100.

I have never read this author before but I will absolutely be picking up her sapphic book in the same series. The humor is just modern enough that you’re laughing out loud and the romance is so touching and earnest that you’re almost in tears.

Read it. You won’t regret it.

This was a really fun follow up to Don't Want You Like a Best Friend. I very much enjoyed the characters of Bobby and James, and I liked their dynamic. Gwen and Beth were not nearly as meddling as I was expecting them to be, especially after getting to know them in the first book, but they were still very present which was a good time, and I'm glad it worked out for them all in the end. I don't know that I was super into the blackmailing plot, when it was actively happening it was definitely intriguing, but otherwise I forgot it existed. Overall, a very entertaining historical fiction, and I do love a taylor swift reference.
