A wild ride from start to finish, with twists and turns that keep you hooked. Faith Gardener has truly mastered the art of surprise, weaving together a web of secrets, passion, and loyalty that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. The Hunters are intriguing and complex, bonded by more than just shared history, and their connections are deep, unsettling, and addictive to follow.
The suspense builds steadily, and just when you think you have a handle on the plot, Gardener flips the script in the best possible way. The themes of loyalty and hidden truths resonate throughout, making it impossible to put down.

Wild, weirdly fun. Fast paced with dark humor, fantastic characters, and a storyline that would make one helluva movie! This is the kind of thriller that tears through genres and I'm here for it!

One of my authors that I have been enjoying her thrillers is Faith Gardner and with KU, I have been able to experience more of her titles. This one captured my attention with the funky cover. The Hunters' family look normal and perfect from the outside, but they all have a secret and one girl will soon have them all implicated in a murder. But of course, what she won't realize is that the Hunter Parents will go to lengths to protect their children, and even though they have supported this girl and taken her under their wing, she is not a Hunter and never will be. Olivia has a secret, she wants to murder her dad and so she tells Eliza that she is thinking about it ( Implication #1), she asks Cal who is a crime writer for suggestions under the pretense of writing a thriller book (Implication #2) and then she cozies up to Ethan who is obsessed with psychopaths and is wondering if he is one to help her finish the job and bury the body ( Implication #3). What Olivia didn't count on is that the mum has experience in murdering and if she got away once before, she will do anything to have her secret buried deep even if that means Olivia has to be the one to be eliminated. This was a good read and I did like the twists with the story and now I am looking forward to reading Faith Gardner's newest title "The Mirror Girls".

As a fan of the Jolvix series , I couldn’t pass up another book by Faith Gardner.
This one was different; I would describe it more as a YA thriller, but it was nonetheless quite interesting.
The book would have been a 5 for me, except for the ending, which I found disappointing—but that’s just my opinion.
The premise revolves around the Hunter family: Angela and Carson are the parents, and Eliza and Ezra are their teenage children. On the surface, they seem perfect, but once you take a closer look, you begin to notice the cracks in their facade. They harbor secrets no one should discover. Unfortunately, Olivia, a sixteen-year-old girl who befriends Eliza and comes from a difficult home life, infiltrates their world, triggering a downward spiral for all of them.
Cliffhanger: No

The characters are well-developed, each with their own motivations and secrets that keep readers guessing. Gardner’s portrayal of fear and resilience is particularly compelling, as the protagonist navigates the challenges posed by her relentless pursuer. They Are the Hunters by Faith Gardner is an enthralling psychological thriller that captivated me from beginning to end. The novel centers around a group of friends who find themselves ensnared in a terrifying game of survival after they are invited to a remote mansion under mysterious circumstances.
Gardner's writing is sharp and evocative, creating an intense atmosphere of suspense and dread. The isolated setting of the mansion enhances the sense of danger and claustrophobia, making the reader feel as trapped as the characters. The pacing is expertly managed, with each chapter ending on a cliffhanger that makes it nearly impossible to put the book down.
The characters in They Are the Hunters are well-developed and multifaceted, each bringing their own secrets and motivations to the story. Gardner skillfully explores the dynamics between the friends, revealing hidden tensions and past traumas that add depth to the narrative. The interplay between trust and betrayal is a central theme, and Gardner handles it with nuance and precision.
One of the standout aspects of the novel is its intricate plot. The twists and turns are unpredictable and keep the reader guessing throughout. Gardner masterfully builds suspense, leading to a climax that is both shocking and satisfying. The blend of psychological and physical threats makes for a gripping and immersive read.
Overall, They Are the Hunters is a brilliantly crafted thriller that I highly recommend. Faith Gardner has created a story that is both thrilling and thought-provoking, making it a must-read for fans of the genre. If you enjoy novels that combine intense suspense with deep character exploration, this book will not disappoint.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC of this book. This was a fun read! I loved the characters and the many twisty turns. It felt a bit like a YA read in many ways. Most of all it was a great thriller about a very creepy family. Highly recommend

I was unprepared for how gruesome and dark They Are the Hunters would be. There are so many glowing reviews and I wish I could add one more to that list! My apologies to the author. This just wasn't a good fit for me.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the ARC.
Talk about a dark and twisted domestic thriller. What did I just read? This is definitely a family that is on a whole different level of bizarre and twisted. I enjoyed the book itself and it was definitely not what I expected. But in a good way!

I would classify this as a horror/thriller . Unfortunately for me I felt like this was more of a YA book. Its not a genre I gravitate towards , so it affected my rating. I struggled to connect to the characters . The ending was the best part of the whole book.

My first time reading a Faith Gardner book. I went into this blind after seeing Noelle W. Ihli recommend it, and knowing the author’s name from rave reviews of Amen Maxine.
The Hunter family consists of dad Carson, an author researching a local true crime book, mom Angela, a child psychologist, and teenagers Ezra and Eliza. Eliza befriends troubled teen Olivia. Olivia's planning a murder and the Hunters don’t know that they’re about to get dragged into the ensuing chaos.
Wow! I had no idea where this was going, and the happy family drama quickly develops into a very tense, twisted and unpredictable ‘will they get away with it?’ thriller with added psychosis.
I loved it, the changing family dynamic, the tight and unpredictable plotting and the dark humour. Tense, completely unexpected and very twisted.
Highly recommended.

What in the world did I read!! Definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes different books. Different in a very good way.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this in exchange for an honest review!

This was such a dark and quirky story! I'm not sure if it's being marketed as YA but it qualifies in my opinion. It covers the horror and thriller genres as an EXTREMELY dysfunctional family makes one bad decision after another.
"...secrets can sew two hearts together" really sums up the book!
Thanks to NetGalley and publishers for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

Despite loving Faith Gardner's Jolvix novels, this one wasn't for me. I reluctanly finished the book but didn't really care for it. More in the Jolvix series please!! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy.

I really enjoyed They Are The Hunters. It was a thoroughly entertaining dark and emotional family drama.
I loved the intriguingly dark characters, especially Olivia and Eliza. I hope to read more books involving these two. 🤞
It was very well written. I was hooked straight away and I couldn't put it down.
This is the first book I've read from Faith Gardner, but it definitely won't be the last. After this, I'm off to look up her back catalogue.
I highly recommend.
5 stars from me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

They are the Hunters was a solid mystery/thriller and was entertained throughout the book. The book had some good twists and turns but it didn't fully stand out to me.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an ARC.

This book is a fave of mine so far this year! I couldn't stop reading and the twists were insane! What a book full of family drama and revenge. There are multiple POVs, and they were all easy to follow. These people are CRAZY, and following them made for a great story. It has a tense, suspenseful and gripping plot, as well as humor points that literally had me laughing out loud. This story was fast paced and kept me entertained even in the moments that weren't action packed. This was my first book by Faith Gardner, and I'm a new fan!

OMG this book was quite the ride! There are so many completely twisted surprises throughout the story, which made it hard to put the book down. I thoroughly enjoyed the character development, and the ending had me speechless. I absolutely loved this one and definitely recommend it!!

This book is highly disturbing. Didn't stop me from reading the whole thing in one sitting though - I was utterly enthralled by the disconcerting and twisty thriller! Definitely one for anybody fascinated by murder and what it does to the perpetrators...
Thank you to the publisher for providing a review copy

The Hunter family seemed to have it all. When Olivia West moved to Riverwood and befriend Eliza Hunter, her parents happily accepted her as an honorary member of the family. Little did they know, Olivia was plotting a murder and they were all going to be involved, whether they liked it or not. But, Olivia didn’t realize the kind of family she was messing with. The Hunters had killed before, and would do it again to protect the life they’d built.
They Are the Hunters was an incredible dark, twisted page-turner! It had such a unique premise and I was hooked right from the start. The twists were plentiful and delivered maximum shock value. The only real criticism I have is that three out of five characters were teenagers, which made this feel a bit like a Young Adult thriller. I would
highly recommend reading this one!
