Blondell O'Henry, the most hated woman in Savannah, is getting out of jail after 20 years having been convicted of killing her eldest daughter to theoretically be with a lover. Shades of Alice Crimmins here.

But her son, one of the witnesses against her, recants his testimony, and Nikki Gillette, true crime reporter looking for her next subject, decides to investigate the case. She was friends with the murdered daughter, but she will not let that stop her.
