Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for sending me a copy of this book!

I absolutely adored this short story! If you are looking for a quick, quirky, magical read; look no further. This is a tale that follows Marnie, who is a stitch witch, and Rider, who is an actor. The two of them meet while working on set for a movie, where every single cast and crew member sign an NDA which also includes not to fool around with anyone while working on this movie. As tension rises between both Marnie and Rider, there also happens to be someone apart of the cast who is trying to sabotage the movie.

This is honestly the perfect book for someone who is looking for a quick, lighthearted read. This is a great palate cleanser for in between book series or genres.

This was such a fun, quick read! Bespoke & Bespelled follows a stitch witch who's working on costumes for a major movie, where everything seems to be going wrong! A sweet romance, on set found family, and a cozy mystery ensures!

This felt really similar to one of my all time favorite romances, Spoiler Alert. I,loved the depiction of the female main character as smart, strong, and capable!

If you're looking for a witchy rom com, this is such a good one!

A cute novella with some interesting magical elements. I really enjoyed this read, but just felt like I was left wanting more. I would have loved to see more of Marnie and Rider's relationship development and the magic system explored as well. It just all felt a bit rushed due to the novella length. It was still a fun, enjoyable read, though, and I do want to try a full length book from this author.

This novella was adorable, if Bewitched and Project Runway had a baby it would be this novella. Marnie is a plus-sized costume designer and also a stitch-witch working on a fantasy movie when sabotage occurs on set. She and the very cute lead actor Rider try to figure out who the saboteur is which leads to some spicy shenanigans. It’s always nice to see a plus-sized lead in books. Overall a light, fluffy, and fun read.

Oh my GOODNESS. This novella was such a cute, quick read. I loved every second of it; hooked from the first chapter, you learn about our witchy FMC, Marnie, and her job as a costume designer living in Hollywood. I adored learning the bits and pieces about her magic, it’s history within her family, and the other lines of magic that exist in the world she’s apart of. The dialogue and relationships between the characters made me smile, gave me the warm fuzzies, and kept me hooked. 100% recommend for those nights where you just need something lighthearted and fun.

Read for:
-Closed door romance
-Plus-sized FMC
-Quick, cute read

Rating: 5/5 stars

This is a short and sweet romance with some mystery and a little magic. The writing makes it easy to want to keep reading. And just FYI it's closed door.

This was such a fun read and also the perfect length novella to get through as a palate cleanser! The plot was fun and easy to follow. I enjoyed the soft magic system that was used throughout. Despite the short amount of pages there was definitely chemistry between the two main characters.

The best thing about this fantasy romance novella is the lack of a third act breakup and that is honestly what made this so good for me.

This book has a lot of body positivity!

Bespoke & Bespelled by Karen Healey is a fun and quick read that I finished in a lazy, winter afternoon.

This Novella features Marnie, a stitch witch bored with her job and Rider, an actor who literally catches her when she falls into his lap on set.

Things keep happening on set and they team up to find out what is going on and who's doing it. Throw in some sweet (no spicy) romance and this was an easy read that made me want more of Marnie and Rider.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC. All opinions are my own.

I love an excellent Witch romance, especially with innovative magical elements. In this story, Marnie Taylor has sewing magic - where she can sew and mend anything, and her friend is an empath.

The magical element is only known to some, and an underground magical community exists. I love how everyone's magic is specific and is not a free-for-all.

So, that is what I appreciate right off the bat.

In comes Rider, an outstanding actor who is super sweet and has a crush on our own Marine - it's adorable, and I only want to read more.

I truly loved every moment of this read and am now a Karen Healey fan. I finished this within a day. I couldn't put it down; it is a short read.

I can't wait for the next book, too. Yay

This was a sweet and cozy novella about Marnie, a 'stitch-witch', and Rider, the main actor in the movie Marnie's working on. The path to their relationship was very straight-forward with no angst. Marnie and Rider realize they're attracted to each other, they acknowledge the attraction and the potential power imbalance due to their working relationship, and decide to it's all worth it. There's an interesting subplot of sabotage on the movie set, which provided the story with some nice tension and I'm happy to say I did not guess who the culprit was. The writing was solid and engaging, the characters were diverse and pretty fleshed out despite the limited page-count. All in all, this was a good story and I am interested in reading the next in the series.

Bespoke & Bespelled is a cute and cozy mystery romance novella. Marnie is a 41 year old stitch witch in search of her next big career step. Famous movie star Rider is just trying to get through his current project when a gorgeous woman *literally* falls into his lap. Together they team up to figure out “who-done-it” and is messing up the movie set and costumes. In all, I enjoyed this novella! Like most novellas, I’m usually left wanting more, but I think the movie set setting worked for this type of story. This book was pretty decent tbh. I read it in one sitting. The writing was consistently stellar, effortlessly drawing me into its narrative. Marnie was absolutely amazing and I love how secure she was. Rider was the cutest and the fact that he didn't even hesitate when Marnie told him that she was a witch made him the perfect guy for her. This proved to be a delightful and cozy read.

This was a cute and quirky read! It was super quick and perfect for when you want a little escape on these dark winter nights. I loved both of our leads and I loved how magic was used in this universe- instead of having big sweeping powers witches are specialties. I really enjoyed the little mystery going on and the chemistry between Marnie and Rider and the setting of a film set. It was a nice change from the cozy small towns most witchy romcoms take place in.

Overall a cute, easy read!

This was such a cute rom-com! If you are looking for a quick read with magic, mystery, and fun quirk this is it! Rider and Marnie are so sweet together. It is fade to black but honestly the tension between these two is giving life. Would definitely recommend if you’re a fan of the Bewitched movie.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Bespoke and Bespelled is a dual point of view starring beautiful, stitch witch Marnie, and absolute disaster but loveable actor Rider.
I loved this book. I read this is one sitting. I found the humor, laugh out loud, and I loved the point of view of Marnie who is an older protagonist— not something I see often in these ‘meet-cute’ stories. I also loved how sure she was. She is a confident, well developed character, and there were mentions of her positive image that she has of herself, which made me love her even more for being a person who loves herself first.
This book is the epitome of cozy, things are pretty low stakes and that’s what I love about it, fun. sassy, and delightful Marnie as a character is someone we can all relate to and you can’t help but root for her from the sidelines.
I really enjoyed the authors portrayal of magic. It was very easy to understand, and I enjoyed the witchy element, especially since it wasn’t necessarily the focus of the whole story, but it helped major plot points develop. Really looking forward to to read more by this author. #books #booklover #book #reading #bookstagrammer #bookworm #bookish #booksbooksbooks #bookreview #readersofinstagram #bookrecommendations #bespokebespell #booknerd #bibliophile #booksbooksbooks #bookcommunity #bookblogger #author #booksofinstagram #booklovers #bookphotography #instabook #reader #cozy #booksta #goodreads #witchy #5star #review #netgalley

Bespoke & Bespelled was a delightful, quick read. Marnie is a stitch-witch costume designer, Rider is a fantasy movie star who doesn't know magic exists. They both have sweet personalities and are actually mature in their communication with each other. It was such a treat to hear them admit their attraction and decide to go out without 100+ pages of agonizing back-and-forth that many romances serve up. I also loved that Marnie's fatness was apparent and her body appreciated by Rider, without her body being a plot point in itself. Thank you to Karen Healey for the type of representation and appreciation I've been looking for!

There was a decent explanation of the magic system, which was easy enough to understand that I felt immediately immersed. This book was a nice break from some fantasy books that are complex from the outset.

The reason I couldn't give Bespoke & Bespelled a full five stars is that the moment the culprit was discovered, the book jumped ahead two years, there was a brief epilogue-style chapter, and the book ended. I would really have loved to see the resolution take place, rather than just hear brief dialogue about it. It would also have been nice to see more of Marnie and Rider's early relationship. Even another 30 pages would have left me much more satisfied after having truly enjoyed the story until that point.

Despite my taking off a star for the reasons above, I will be recommending this book to my book groups and friends. I'm also looking forward to reading the sequel and Karen Healey's other work.

This was kind of adorable. A cute little novella with Charmed AND true crime vibes. I loved both MCs and the whole story reminded my of that Olivia Dade series.

Honestly, my only. “complaint” is that I needed more of this story and a novella wasn’t satisfying enough.

This was a very quick, quirky and cute read. Marnie and Rider's chemistry was well written, believable and just so romcom-y. I LOVED it. It quickly grasped my attention and I devoured this. It made me laugh out loud several times and I felt like kicking my feet and giggling at majority of this lol.

Well done, Karen! I can't wait for the next one.
