I did not realize this title was part of a series. In fact the third of five set in eighth century England. That’s unfortunate for m, although their is a very brief outline of Books 1 and 2.
The tale is complex, well woven and held my interest. This time of English history has always been intriguing and Jahn has imbued the story with all the fascination the Saxon Kingdoms and their varied populace hold in these so called Dark Ages.
