My 8 year old and I went through this book together and it is approved by both of us!! The symbols at the beginning were essential, so we had to bookmark that page and refer to it often.
The designs were cute. Some offered my daughter more of a challenge, but in a good way! The extras and added images were great. The QR code episodes were a perfect addition!
I like the book cover to this book as it gives you a little insight of what to expect in the book. I like the cartoon characters as well. I especially loved the beginning of the book where it showed what the arrows meant, which can be very helpful for starters.
I did origami when I was little and the instructions were in Japanese, which I did not understand, so it was very difficult for me to learn the harder projects. This book does a great job for beginners to understand. The patterns are simple, but a great way to start and I love the characters that were being created/built with a single piece of paper.
I also liked that in the back of the book, there were patterns for people to print out and use as origami.
My only con was that this book was not formatted correctly for the kindle and tablet. I had to open up the NetGalley app to view it correctly.
This was so fun and a great activity! The photos/instructions were a little hard to follow from the pictures, but it was still doable.
I looked at this book with my younger grandchildren and it had some really good ideas. Beautifully illustrated and looks a lot like a comic book format that was very appealing to the children.
What a lovely book! There’s a lot of value inside beyond making the origami, including fun characters, stickers and QR codes. I would definitely consider buying this as a gift.
Loved this book! Easy to follow instructions made doing origami with my 8 year old daughter a breeze! I wanted to share my love of origami with her and spark her creative side, and this book was perfect.
Thank you Netgalley and Fox Chapel Publishing for the digital ARC. The opinion is my own.
For a children's origami book this is so colourful! I can't say much about the show The Paper Girls but the style in the book is so nice. There are QR codes for each project that goes to a significant episode of the show. The projects are explained well enough - there are instructions in the beginning on how to do the folds are read the instruction illustrations. Some projects I knew as they are relatively popular such as the crane (the quintissencial though interestingly it is not named so), the jumping frog and the butterfly.
Though it is a digital version, the papers given and the stickers were also shown in this version. The stickers are simple and to the point such as eyes and mouths. The papers some of them are so pretty!
All in all, if you have a kid that is curious and hands-on or simply want to have an activity to do with said kid (Or by yourself), this book seems to be a good choice.
Origami book is colourful and creative book for anyone who trying new things, who are creative, or wants learning Origami. I'm always want to learn to make Origami and this book is perfect for me.
Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this wonderful book and enjoy the process of making the Origami!

Inhalt
Fazit
"The Paper Girls Show Origami Craft Book" ist ein inspirierendes und unterhaltsames Buch, das nicht nur die kreative Seite von Kindern fördert, sondern auch wertvolle Lektionen über Problemlösung und Durchhaltevermögen vermittelt. Die Kombination aus Origami und einer beliebten TV-Show macht es zu einem einzigartigen Erlebnis für junge Bastelfans. Insgesamt ein sehr gelungenes Buch, das ich mit 4 von 5 Sternen bewerte.
I have been wanting to revisit origami and this book had some nice ideas - the instructions are all in pictures and you need to pay attention and follow them the 1st time, and then they were easy... lots of new items to make now :) the cartoon drawing were cute. a fun book.
5⭐️
What a great activity for children and adults alike! It taps into STEM, mindfulness, motor skills, and your “inner child.” I know I’m feeling like a kid again - about to go grab some scrapbook paper and make me a frog 🐸!
🎥 This visual book offers a cute cast of characters that teach you how to fold origami, QR Codes that take you to story lines and video tutorials, and a variety of difficulty levels.
🔄 The directions were easy to follow, and there was a great assortment of origami options to choose from, including 3D. Here are some of my favorites:
-frog
-crown
-stars and planet mobile
-ferret finger puppet
🛒 You will want to buy the print version of this book for sure. The back of the book has 100 fun colored patterns that you can tear and fold, and some really cute stickers that include facial features to use on your origami designs, and some of the characters from the book.
🎁 What a great gift for young kids, or even for grandparents to keep lying around for visits. I could see families and friends bonding over this activity together. This is something I’ll be doing with my son, and maybe we’ll make a bunch and leave them around his school with some uplifting messages on them 🫶🏼
📌 I plan to try some of these soon. I’ll post to my blog www.hippie-blossom.com if you want to subscribe for updates.

The Paper Girls showing origami craft is a great idea. It is a better idea than real life people showing origami or only photos of the steps and the final pieces. The characters make this book more engaging.
Some nice designs and illustrations and the range is good.
The steps are easy-to-follow and we will surely try all of the designs in this book.
The book is great fun, I took around a week to try out all of the different origami creations. Some of them are very easy such as the classic paper plane, but some can be more complex such as the jumping frog and ringed planets. I have some previous experience in origami, so it was easy to follow. Especially because they give a very thorough and detailed explanation of different terminology and symbols used in the book in the introduction. I would really recommend getting the physical copy, as it comes with a plethora of different pages of paper for you to make the designs.
It also includes interactive QR codes that send you to different episodes in the series, which I really enjoyed.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publiser for giving me a digital copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
I grabbed this book to use with my children (7 and 5 years old). There were quite a few fun patterns here for us to create. They vary in difficulty . I love how the book stresses the importance of "resilience, grit, and confidence." It's true. We need to let our kids struggle a bit to build in them what is necessary to handle life - and what better than a fun paper folding craft? There is paper everywhere and you can take it with you everywhere. I like that you can also look them up on YouTube. This book is colorful and fun and geared for kiddos ages 6 and up.
I received an e-arc of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This is a great beginner book for children with very detailed instructions. I especially like the symbol key. The characters also give the book a special feel for children. I really liked the ghost and star. This is a great book for rainy or snowy days to do with your children.
I really enjoyed this origami book. I’ve had many origami books over the years and this one is very easy to follow and has fun things to make! Highly recommended!
I found this cute collection of origami crafts on NetGalley and decided to explore the book a little. The crafts can be enjoyed by both kids and adults for hours of fun. Some were easy to understand and others took me a little bit of extra focus to get right. Nonetheless, this was fun! A fun and colourful guide to keep busy and entertained. Best to be used in paperback so you can use the pages available for the crafts.
Some ‘easy origami’ books hit the mark while sadly, most others don’t. I am happy to report that this one definitely does! The illustrations and explanations were clear and concise with extra images at the end so you knew if you were on the right track. My boys loved making the models and very rarely got stuck.
What sets this book apart
The story line and links to the show. The QR codes take you right to the episode so you can have a fun 5-6min video to break up a maker session.
Pros
Each item had a reason for being there and as they say in the book, there was “Purpose and Play”
Clear instructions
Beginner level origami with a few more complex models for when you grow in confidence
You get over 100 stickers including face details and other items to enhance your origami
The paper included is diverse and exciting unlike many books that have three copies of ten basic patterns. Each of the 100 sheets is unique and most are coloured on both sides
Cons
They were really onto something with the face stickers but didn’t include many of them. My kids vastly preferred using the eye stickers to decorate their creations over drawing their own and pretty much ignored the generic storyline stickers. However each kid is different so it’s not really a con, perhaps more of a meh but I needed to find something to put here.
Summary
I would definitely recommend The Paper Dolls Show Origami Craft Book to anyone looking for a creative gift for a child aged 5-14 and if you haven’t seen the show, you really should go google it.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own
