I received a copy of this audiobook from netGalley for a honest review.

This short little book about Asians who have made huge contributions to our world is beautifully told. Those still living and those who have pass but done great things I learned a lot and we moved by the stories. A great book for kids to learn from.

This is a fun way to celebrate asain and asain Americans throughout history! The music and sound effects add a level of interest for young readers. This would be a wonderful addition to the physical book for any story time as well! I would absolutely recommend this book which celebrates a wide variety of figures both modern and historic, well known as well as lesser known.

Thanks for sharing with me NetGalley!

I will for sure be using this in my classrooms. So happy to finally have more Asian representation in books.

An excellent primer to learn about AAPI voices. Very East Asian heavy, as these often are. I was familiar with most names, but did learn a few.

We Are Golden… 27 groundbreakers who changed the world by Eva Chin is a book that names 27 successful Asians who made it big in their field in America. From martial artist Bruce Lee to ice skater Michelle Kwan news anchor Connie Chung and many more. I am sure the author could’ve listed dozens and even hundreds of names but I found the ones she listed were mostly people I’ve heard of and or were familiar with their work. I listened to the audiobook narrated by the author and thought she did a brilliant job with the exception of hearing the pages turn on the audio but having said that I do want to say the audio included sound effects so don’t know if that was part of the sound effects or not. There were a few Asians I thought would be on the list but we’re not like taboo from Black Eyed Peas the comedian Dat Phan and a few others but it was only 27 named and so don’t guess she had the room. Either way this was a good book and one I enjoyed and highly recommend. I want to think McMillan audio and Net Galley for my free arc copy please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

These are fantastic little blurbs about accomplished Asian people. The narrator was enthusiastic and the background noises were exciting.
It was too short! I wanted more.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me listen to this
