Unfortunately this book is set to expire .... I gather that it is the third book in a trilogy. Will buy and post a review when I hve read the others.

I made the mistake of not reading the first two books before this one-So I'm starting again from the beginning.

Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for my copy of The Fifth Girl by Paul J Teague.
This is the third and final book in this trilogy and you are best to read them in order.
Detective Hollie Turner is investigating the horrific murder of an elderly nun, and in this book we find out the back story to why she was murdered and just went on in the 1970s.
A great conclusion to this series with lots of false leads.
I would definitely read any new books by this author.

I really enjoyed this series. I did feel that the story was dragged out longer than necessary in some parts, but this didn't negatively affect my enjoyment over the book too much. I like the authors writing style and found the plot to be gripping and we'll thought out.

I rated this book 4 out of 5 stars

If it’s possible this is the best one out of the three because it was so fast paced and exciting, the case just expanded and expanded until it all came to a head in the most dramatic way possible.

I really like Hollie as a character, she has her flaws but she loves her children dearly and will fight to have them with her.

We still don’t know much about her earlier life and I can see a few secrets coming out in the next books ( if we get them, I can hope).

Even though she’s only been the boss for a short while she’s made friends in her team and they all work so well together after a shaky start.

This is the best detective series that I’ve read in a really long time and I hope we get more books.

Third book in the Hollie Turner series, still focusing on the same murder from the first two books with many complications along the way. I liked this better than the second book. A little chaotic at the end. 3.5 stars rounded to 4.

The Fifth Girl
by Paul J. Teague
Pub Date: 29 Jan 2024

"The Fifth Girl" is the 3rd book in the Detective Hollie Turner series and what a conclusion to this fast paced trilogy! I definitely recommend this series to all who love crime thrillers!

Like the previous books in the series the action never lets up from the first page until the final page!

A little snippet from the book:

Under pressure to solve the murder of Sister Sophia Brennan, Detective Hollie Turner is close to cracking the case and catching the killer when her Deputy Chief Constable, Rose Warburton, goes missing. It soon becomes clear that Rose has been abducted, and Hollie makes a shocking discovery… Rose's disappearance is connected to Sister Brennan's murder investigation.

I definitely recommend this series to all who love crime thrillers!

Many thanks to #TheFifthGirl #NetGalley and #StormPublishing for this E-ARC of #TheFifthGirl.

This is the final book in the outstanding series featuring DI Hollie Turner. Still searching for the killer of Sister Brennan & the attempted murder of Father Duffy, Hollie thinks there couldn't be much more pressure heaped on her- that is until news reaches her that the District Chief Constable has gone missing. How is this connected to the death & attempted murder she is investigating. Like the previous books in the series the action never lets up. The early life of Sr Brennan is a key part of the story this time. Dreadful though it was & how it damaged her, I still found it very hard to understand and sympathise with her.

I enjoyed the Hull setting as I went to college there in the time-frame of the story. This trilogy has been a roller coaster of a ride & Hollie Turner had definitely earned her place among my favourite detectives! I can't wait to meet this team again. Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read & review this excellent series of books.

I liked this book but I made a mistake of not reading the other two before this. I highly suggest you read the other two first because it is a continuous story. It would have made more sense to me. But even with that it was well written! It was suspenseful and interesting and something I would read again! Recommend!

The Fifth Girl solves the puzzle regarding the killings and clearly outlines Hollie's leadership actions in the precint. It's another fast-paced story, full of thrilling situations where someone almost dies. Many secrets are brought forward and above all, the cruelty inflicted on the culprit is overwhelming. Loved reading the trilogy and hopefully new stories will come with Hollie as the main character.
I thank Mr. Teague, his publisher, and NetGalley for this ARC.

Perfect way to end the series, telling us the story of Sophia. This a must read series if you enjoy fast paced action, suspense and cliff hangers! In my opinion, creating it as three novels is brilliant. It adds to the what happens next vibe.

A huge thanks to the publisher and NetGallery for the advanced copy in return for an honest review!

This is a common review with Her Last Cry
I read Her Last Cry and The Fifth Girl and had fun in reading this well plotted, fast paced and tense police procedural novels.
Holllie and her team are interesting characters and the plot kept me hooked and guessing
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine

The Firth Girl is book three in the Hollie Hunter Series.

I promise you, in this one you will find out who killed Sister Brennan. The three books read like one long book. The first two stop mid scene and are concluded in book three.

I enjoyed reading about the girls and also learning more about Hollie's work team. There are some very interesting revelations throughout.

What I found most intriguing was learning about Sister Brennan's past. Like most of the other characters, she had quite a tale to tell. How she ended up becoming a nun is quite compelling.

This series of books is wonderful. The characters are well thought out and interesting. I felt so many different emotions while reading this series.

I would recommend this series to anyone who likes a great mystery/thriller series.

Thanks to netgalley and Storm Publishing for the arc.

A thrilling, fast-paced conclusion for DI Hollie Turner and the case of the mother and baby home. I'd recommend this series to anyone who enjoys crime thrillers.

Talk about perspective... the flashbacks of Sophia Brennan were the most heart-wrenching and informative of the series.

Everything, well almost everything, was wrapped up nicely. I am looking forward to seeing what happens next for Hollie!

Thank you to NetGalley, Storm Publishing & Paul J Teague for an advanced e-copy of this book.

The third book in the DI Hollie Turner series finds Hollie and her team wrapping up the investigation into the murder of Sister Brennan. Do NOT read until you’ve read the prior two otherwise nothing will make sense.

After reading all three, I wish this had just been one book. I think parts could have been condensed or cut out to make one book that concludes the investigation in one book instead of three.

I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Another amazing book in this 3 book series. A different perspective gives us a different perception of what happened all this years ago as well as around the time of the Sister's death. This is by far my favorite of the 3 book series and I hated to put it down!

Trilogy well tied up in this third and final instalment of the trilogy. This book took the flashbacks to the late 1960's to further enlighten the reader and complete the story. A very well written story that has encouraged me to look out for more Paul Teague books. Thanks to Storm Publishing and NetGalley for the chance to ARC this trilogy.

The series was wrapped up in this third book. Definitely need to read the books in order! I loved the back and forth between past and present time. Your heart breaks for all the victims in the overall situation that occurred. Definitely enjoyed this book the most out of the other two. So many questions become answered and the truth is unfolded.
