This was very different James' previous book, which had a dose of magical realism, but Name Your Price, carried the same charming writing and developed storyline.
Exes Olivia and Chuck's epic break-up was caught on video and became an internet sensation. Chuck is a b-list actor and Olivia is the love child of hollywood royalty. Both are down on their luck and hovering very close to being broke, agree to star in a reality show where they are locked together in a house for a chance to win $1m each. This book is fun -- I enjoyed the show, the aftermath, and the self discovery each character came into.
4 stars -- thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This book was not it. It seemingly idolized toxic relationships, which is absurd. Also, the MMC's name is Chuck??? Gag.
I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The tension and chemistry between the two leads has to be some of my favorite ever! This was the second book by Holly James that I've read and it solidified my love for her work. I definitely plan on going and reading her other releases! Overall I gave it 4 out of 5 stars!

Thank you to NetGalley, Holly James, and Penguin Group for this free ARC!
This book was so cute and fun to read! Imagine being stuck in a house with your ex for an entire month, and the only way out is by winning one million dollars if you can make it through! On top of that, you have to deal with your messy breakup and the undeniable attraction still between you. What could possibly go wrong?! At first, I found the relationship between Chuck and Olivia to be a bit whatever… but as the story progressed, their characters really developed, and we got a deeper look into their thoughts and feelings. I’m so glad I didn’t give up on this because I ended up really enjoying it.

Unfortunately was not a fan of this one. I just think it's a bit over-done as a plot, and a little under-done in this book. Nothing really stuck with me, and I feel like I just do not know how to endorse it. Just... not my style and not something I would ever willingly put myself through.
"If I gave you a million dollars... what would you do?" Not this.

The tension and chemistry between Olivia and Chuck were to die for! I would say it's a slow burn, but it's more like a continuously burning candle that never turns off. Anyway, I would totally recommend this book. It made me think of the Netflix Show called "Perfect Match" because the show in the book even had challenges. I just don't think there will ever be enough money to make me live with my ex...but that is a lot of books that can be bought.

Would you be able to stay in a house with your recently broken up ex-boyfriend if it meant you got a chance to win a million dollars? I mean, that’s a no brainer right? Problem is, you might actually still be having feelings and there are all these rules about not touching each other and not killing each other too. That definitely makes it harder! I thought this was a cute book and an interesting concept. I found the characters to be loveable and I really enjoyed their chemistry. I appreciated that they had growth while in the house, both personally and together, and I enjoyed the ending. While I did enjoy my time with the book, however, I do think that this isn’t one that will likely leave a lasting impression. It felt a bit middle ground as far as the banter goes. While I had fun reading it and I’m sure other people will enjoy it as well, it might not be one that sticks with me. Overall, I rate it a 3.5/5 stars.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced reading copy of this book. All opinions within this review are my own.

This book was cute, but very frustrating at times. Honestly, this couple didn't make sense to me and gave me the vibe that they had been together for only weeks vs being in a serious relationship. Because of that it was hard to buy in to the gameshow premise. I think really it just didn't make a lot of sense as a whole and took away from my enjoyment.

Really enjoyed this one. This was my first book from this author but I'll definitely be looking for more in the future.

If you're a realtiy TV fan, this one is for you! I was surprised how much I enjoyed this one. It was quick and fun with loads of tension!

I’m surprised how much I enjoyed this book. The concept was very unique and I loved every minute. The tension was through the roof and I loved it.

As a reality TV fan, I really liked this book. It was an easy, quick, fun read. I liked the concept of the TV show and I enjoyed how the relationship progressed. It was a satisfying book all around!

Name Your Price was a fun and empowering read with a great message about knowing your worth. I really enjoyed the premise and the main character’s journey of self-discovery. The writing was engaging, and there were plenty of moments that made me smile.
While I didn’t fully connect with every part of the story, I still appreciated the themes of confidence and ambition. The romance was cute, though I wished for a bit more depth. Overall, it was an enjoyable read with a positive message, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a light, feel-good story.

Unmistakable chemistry from first meet of our MCs. This was a hot and sweet romcom with my favorite trope— forced proximity. Loved the concept of the book and found the characters to be really likeable!

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publishing Company for this Advanced Readers Copy of Name Your Price by Holly James!

3.5 ⭐
This book had a super cute premise and I love second-chance romances. With that being said, I feel like it was a little drawn out at parts. It was very cute, just not fast paced at all. Honestly, I wish I could watch the show. Olivia and Chuck just have so much chemistry.

I originally liked the premise of this story- two exes put into a situation of forced proximity via a reality tv show- because it would give the characters a chance to confront their issues head on- and I love a second chance romance!
However, the chemistry between the two just didn't feel genuine within the pages. It gave more of a simple lust for each other, vs affection. And the miscommunication trope was dripping from the pages via consistent petty fights, emotional immaturity, and random physical intimacy. I did not see any deep connection between the two to convince me they belonged together and deserved to give each other that second change. Also the world building was weird for the show- no internet but they could have their personal phones? Was their a service block to prevent them from using the internet, orrrrr did they just....not think to use it??

I loved the characters. I loved the banter. I loved following all the types of movie theme. This book is great if you need a rom com. Thank you to the authors and the publisher for allowing me to read this.

I liked it, didn’t love it.
The concept of this romance novel was unique, two exes stuck in a house together for reality tv. I haven’t read any reality tv books before. This book is a second chance romance, force proximity situation. The book dives into the lives of celebrities and the media. It discusses how media photos and gossip isn’t the full story and how lives can be affected by it. It was an interesting discussion on how fake media is and how it can be applied to more than celebrity gossip.
It was a fun, quick read with enough drama to keep me turning the pages.
My issue with the book was with the main characters. I didn’t like either one of them and wasn’t rooting for their relationship. Both main characters are awful at the beginning of the book and their break up shows how incapable they are. They instantly jump into forced proximity in a house they cannot leave for 30 days. However, there is no time for their growth between the break up and the relationship to start again. It didn’t feel like either character really grows during the novel. The issues that Olivia have with Chuck don’t seem resolved. He cleans his dishes once and suddenly he’s a new man. The book explores the reasons why each character acts out and why there were truths hidden but I didn’t see a lot of growth in their character development.
There were a few plot points at the end of the book that had holes in them and seems unbelievable.

I wanted to like this book more than I did. Big picture, it kept my attention and had an interesting storyline. The smaller details? Not a huge fan- communication could have solved so many problems (which is true in a lot of romance books), but the FMC lying to her grandma about being 2 months behind in payments at the care facility she’s in? MMC lying to his parents about being fired from a job? Also, there wasn’t a lot of redeeming romance or relationship building that had me rooting for them. Lots of lust. I’m glad they got their HEA and therapy, though!
