jijij8ijijjijij this book really made me swoon and kick my feet to the air, they are just so nf4ehfkuheqlife got I can't
Name Your Price by Holly James is a delightful and witty rom-com that explores second-chance romance, reality TV absurdities, and the irresistible chemistry between two exes. Olivia Martin and Chuck Walsh, after a public breakup fueled by passion and drama, are thrown together once again—this time as contestants on a high-stakes reality game show. The twist? They’re locked in a house for a month with a million-dollar prize, one bed, and one major rule: no touching.
The book perfectly captures the humor and tension of the "will-they-won’t-they" dynamic, as Olivia and Chuck navigate their complicated feelings amidst the prying cameras and outrageous conditions of the show. Both characters are relatable, and their witty banter and emotional growth make for an engaging read. The stakes are high, and as their chemistry continues to simmer, the tension builds to a fun and steamy crescendo.
James excels at creating a rom-com that’s both lighthearted and heartfelt, with a perfect balance of humor, romance, and drama. If you're looking for a fun, fast-paced read with a satisfying love story, Name Your Price is sure to keep you hooked from start to finish.
A reality show rom com with forced proximity and two people that kinda (but not really) hate each other. I really enjoyed the tension and how the story played out
Name Your Price is fun, witty, and cutting. Chuck and Olivia have chemistry that lights up the pages and keeps you wanting more. Their dynamic "I hate you I love you" will leave you wanting more in this sweet and spicy romance.
I loved this one! The relationship and the angst - and the storyline with the MC's parents. I just liked all of it. I listened to the audiobook and it was a wonderful narration. I think this is my first by Holly James but definitely won't be my last.
OH MY GOD. When I say I loved this, I mean I DEVOURED this.
It's so, so cute! The banter! The tension! The swoon-worthy romance! This book has it all and I am so happy that I read this -- I really loved it! (as if my ridiculous use of exclamations didn't already convey that lol)
Name Your Price is a fun romance. Olivia and Chuck are convinced that even though they have chemistry, their relationship cannot survive. When Name Your Price, a reality game show, offers them each $1 million to participate in the show by filming them living together for a month, they don't expect it to end as they expect, but they realize that they can make things work. It's a funny and enjoyable read.
I really enjoyed the story and appreciated the chemistry and connection between Chuck and Olivia. The hurdle I had to get over is that upon starting the story (without refreshing myself with a summary) was that I didn't think Chuck was going to be Olivia's person based on the opening chapters. He was pegged as selfish and their relationship as having no depth and being based solely on sex. So I was a little caught of guard when I realized he was the MMC.
As the book went on, I clearly saw there was more to Chuck and their original relationship. I think that misleading in the beginning was to the detriment of the story.
Once I got past all that, I really thought the story was fun. Olivia had some past trauma to work through and Chuck had his own secrets that were keeping him from being totally open to Olivia. It was a fun concept and totally silly but a fun and overall lighthearted read.
REVIEW: Name Your Price by Holly James
Name Your Price by Holly James is a fun, lighthearted romance with a unique premise. The idea of two ex-lovers being forced to live together on a reality show for a chance at a million dollars is intriguing.
The characters are likable enough, and their banter is witty and enjoyable. However, the plot feels somewhat predictable, and the conflict resolution is a little rushed. While the book offers a quick and easy escape, it lacks the depth and complexity to captivate readers.
Overall, Name Your Price is a decent read for fans of romantic comedies who enjoy a bit of drama and humor. It's a perfect choice for a lazy afternoon, but it's unlikely to stay with you long after you finish the final page.
Thank you, Netgalley and PENGUIN GROUP Dutton, for the free advanced copy for my honest review!
I loved this book so much!! What a cool and unique concept Holly James served us! Second chance romance has to be written well for me and Holly James definitely wrote it well with this book. I had so much fun reading this book and I love Holly's writing style. I will be reading her backlog and looking forward to future books by her, for sure.
I absolutely ADORED this book. Holly James did something so good with Olivia and Chuck. I was obsessed with the concept of this book with them being on this show and being locked in the house together. Something about second chance romances just hits good every time, and Holly James did second chance SO GOOD. I loved Olivia's character, she was so relatable especially when it came to running from her problems. I loved Chuck and honestly he was a lot more patient with Olivia than I was expecting at some points. I think it really showed how much Chuck loves Olivia. I loved this book so much and such a fun time reading it. Holly James' writing style and story telling ability is so enjoyable and makes me fall in love with reading all over again.
Olivia Martin was raised by her grandmother after her actress mother and married-to-another-woman father died in a tragic accident. She's avoided the limelight as much as possible, but a screaming fight with her actor ex-boyfriend, Chuck, becomes viral and she's offered a chance to be on a TV show and win one million dollars. She wants nothing to do with Chuck, but her grandmother's assisted living facility isn't cheap, so she's willing to brave spending 30 days locked up in a house with her ex. Can they survive the 30 days it will take to win the million?
It's extremely enjoyable fluff with some deeper bits to ground it in reality, but mainly pure, unadulterated enjoyment. Olivia has her issues and she's not exactly the best at dealing with conflict. Still, her relationship with Chuck once they're forced to spend time together without the fights and the physical intimacy to distract them is the sweetest. Seeing them slowly open up to each other is charming and endearing, so you're committed to their relationship by the time you get to the steamy parts.
Overall, I'm all in on this desert-like morsel of a book that might not give you a lot to think about, but you'll enjoy it from beginning to end and you'll walk away smiling.
Delighted thanks to NetGalley and Dutton for the charming read!
A very interesting and well-executed premise!
I really enjoyed this engaging book.

Read this book if you like: Dual pov, exes, second chances, close proximity
I loved this. It was cute, sweet, funny, and sexy. It was actually a pretty deep story. There were so many moving parts. Perfection. I couldn't put it down. I highly recommend this!
Thanks to Dutton and Netgalley for this advanced copy!
I really thought this was going to be a strangely mindless novel but I thought this had so much heart! Two people who can't keep their hands off each other or stop fighting go viral with a huge public breakup. Soon they are on a reality show, trying to live together, never touch, and earn a million dollars. Old and new Hollywood secrets weave in and out of this fun romance. I really liked Olivia and Chuck, they were a great couple with so much fire! An easy beach read.
I tried to read this book but I couldn’t get into it. The plot sounded intriguing, but that’s about it. Both characters are extremely immature. Their relationship is toxic AF. The beginning of the story was trying to go for a wow factor but it did the opposite.
Cute little romance story. I liked the story, I liked the characters, I thought it was a nice read. I hadn't read anything by this author before, but I will pick up another by them in the future.
Holly James is one of the most underrated romance authors I've ever read. This is such a ridiculously unique book and it was executed so perfectly, that only the craziest person on this planet could've written it. I love these characters like they are my own family members. There are few things in life better than a second chance haters to lovers masterclass!!!!!
Name Your Price by Holly James is a delightful rom-com that takes the reality TV dating show trope to a whole new level. The story follows Olivia Martin and Chuck Walsh, a pair of exes who find themselves locked in a house together for a chance to win a million dollars each. Their chemistry is off the charts, and their interactions are filled with both intense passion and fiery arguments.
What I loved most about this book is the **realistic portrayal of their relationship**. Olivia and Chuck's journey is filled with ups and downs, making their eventual reconciliation feel earned and satisfying. The forced proximity trope is executed perfectly, with the house's limited space adding to the tension and humor.
The supporting characters, especially Olivia's grandmother Ruby, add depth and warmth to the story. Ruby's relationship with Olivia is heartwarming and provides a nice contrast to the high-stakes drama of the main plot.
Overall, the book is a fun, fast-paced read that will keep you entertained from start to finish. If you're a fan of rom-coms with a bit of spice and a lot of heart, this book is a great pick. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a lighthearted, feel-good story.
This was an ok romance. I liked the premise and the characters, but there was too much spice between Olivia and Chuck for it to be an enjoyable read for me. Their relationship was based purely on their physical attraction to each other. They couldn't even last a week together without keeping their hands off each other. That was a disappointment for me because love is so much more than being physically attracted to each other. I am glad that the story ended with a happy ending. Unfortunately, I won't be recommending this book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group Dutton for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!
