The premise of this book is a good idea but sadly it wasn't for me. There were too many cliches in the beginning of the book, and it was too predictable. The first chapter i feel like was good at establishing the characters hate for each other and I get that the sexual tension is supposed to be showcased but i feel like there was just too much sex incorporated overall. I wasn't able to finish the book, but I can see this being a popular book, sadly it just wasn't my cup of tea.

Olivia and Chuck were adorable. I absolutely loved reading this book. Olivia was a very likable protagonist and did not annoy me at all. She was written very well. Chuck was an amazing love interest and so considerate to Olivia. Time and time, he never pissed me off and though Olivia was the one screwing up their relationship by running away, I was unable to hate her or him.

I absolutely loved this story! This slow-burn, enemies to lovers, second chance romance (with a bit of spice!) kept me captivated from start to finish. The chemistry between Chuck and Olivia jumped off the pages for me and kept enticing me to read just one more chapter (even though I'd said "one more chapter" two chapters ago and it was way past my bedtime). Olivia's internal struggles felt very relatable and real, while Chuck's character arc was beautiful. The conclusion was touching and fulfilling. It was one of those books I hugged at the end because I loved it so much!

Overall, this was a very unique and fun story, and I highly recommend this one. I look forward to reading more Holly James in the future!

I really enjoyed the first 80% of this book. I thought the premise was unique - while I’ve read (and loved) a bunch of reality show or second chance romances, this was the first that combined it in this way. It was VERY angst and slow burn, but the author did a great job not making it feel boring or repetitive.

I didn’t love the back half. I though the reality show exit was underwhelming and a disappointing and abrupt finish. I also had a hard time rooting for the MCs to get together - it felt like they really only had good chemistry, but on an emotional and partner level didn’t mesh. And for the conclusion with Olivia’s parents, it was interesting but felt really rushed.

While I enjoyed the premise of this book and how some scenarios were played out, I found the love between the maim characters to be a bit juvenile. They are both almost 30, but you would never know that from how they acted sometimes, especially Olivia. Like, I get that you have a tragic history with your parents and the trauma of being in the Hollywood spotlight when you want your life to be private, but she honestly reacted very childlishly in some parts. Otherwise, it was a quick, cute, feel-good read, nothing special.

Olivia and Chuck's story is unique, funny and engaging! From the moment we meet them during their very public, viral-video breakup all the way through the ensuing conflicts and character development, their chemistry and internal motivations brought their story to life. The elements of forced proximity, second-chance romance and a really fun game show concept pair well with the unfolding backstories that both Chuck and Olivia have. There were twists and turns that kept me turning the page even when I found myself wondering how I managed not to see what was coming next!

I would have liked to see a little more depth to the game-show portion of the plot, but the ending was enjoyable nonetheless, even though the last portion of the book felt a tad slow. As well developed and emotionally interesting as the characters were, I was hoping for more "show-don't-tell" storytelling, and it fell flat in this area compared to the interesting plot idea and character depth.

This is a 3.5 for me.

I really liked this one! I thought the premise was SO unique and fun. I definitely could feel the burn between the characters, and could really feel their emotions with them. The book moved quick, which can be hit or miss for me (when I saw I was 75% done, I had to do a double take), but the plot and characters kept me engaged. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a good romcom or beach read!

A common lament among romance readers is , "If only they would communicate!" What if a couple was locked in a house together and were forced to communicate with each other?

In Name Your Price, Olivia and Chuck have passion; they are either tearing each other's clothes off or tearing each other's heads off. Both know each other really well and share a deep connection. They also fight like it's an Olympic sport. After their latest breakup is videotaped and goes viral, the couple is asked to participate in a reality show. If they can last 30 days in forced proximity, they can win a million dollars. Of course, they will be challenged along the way with different reality show tests. (Just one bed?!)

James keeps the pace moving as Olivia and Chuck rediscover the steady current underlying their relationship and learn how to fight for each other instead of with each other. Both Olivia and Chuck are very likable and sympathetic characters. Both care deeply about family and about doing the right thing.

Thanks to the author and publisher for an advance copy. This is an honest review.

This was a cute, typical romcom book that is great for turning off your brain for a few hours.

Didn’t really believe the love story because all we know about the main couple is they love to fight and apparently just cant get enough of each other physically. Like to the point they literally cant even spend 5 days together as broken up people who say they cant stand each other, without kissing and wanting to sleep with each other. Doesn’t really delve into anything about what they like about each other or why they’re together apart from the physical stuff. The fmc comes off as really mean, and the mmc is really flat with basically no personality. It would have been more interesting to see alternating pov chapters so we could get inside both their heads.

Predictable, but still kind of cute. However without spoiling anything, the plot shift from the “reality game show” midway through the book was weird and unexpected. And a bit unnecessary tbh. Because the premise of exes who cant stand each other get locked in a house in order to win a million bucks could have made an interesting book.

Wow Holly James has crafted such a cute rom-com, and I seriously enjoyed it.
This novel follows Olivia and Chuck and their explosive break up which was captured on camera and went viral. They are now tasked with staying in a house together, while filming a reality tv show (ala Big Brother, but with only two people) with various rules and challenges for ONE MONTH.

I really really enjoyed this one. I loved the reality tv setting and really enjoyed the tension and lead up to the romantic moments. I also really liked both Olivia and Chuck, which is rare. I find in too many romances, one MC is difficult to like, but in this case I really liked both of them. There were a few quotes that even made my heart melt. This book would be a GREAT summer/beach read!
Publishes in July 2024, so go pre-order this!

Absolutely loved everything about this cute book. The characters were so relatable and real. The story line flowed and kept me wanting more. And the romance was the perfect amount of cuteness and chemistry. I devoured this book and cannot wait for it to be out in the world for everyone to enjoy as well!

When Olivia and Chuck's volatile relationship explodes for the final time, the video ends up going viral. In the aftermath, Olivia wants nothing more than to keep her head down and look for a way to pay all of her bills, but when the ex-couple is offered the chance of a lifetime, they'll have to put aside their differences and learn to live with their fame - and each other.

All they have to do is live for one month in the same house. Sounds easy enough. If they can keep it together, they may just make it out in one piece - and one million dollars richer. Can they settle their differences? Or will the forced proximity prove too much to handle?

While the growth of character seemed a little too quick for such a short time and interaction, overall the dynamic and premise worked as a whole. Chuck's character was a little too vain for me to handle at some points, but overall their relationship was easy to settle into.

A great new romance for fans of power couples and second chance romances.

NetGalley ARC -

This was a fun romcom and a very quick read. Loved the back stories and the game show environment. Negative was not sure i was invested enough in the couple.

This book reminds me of another rom com book I read with the reality show plot but at least these characters didn’t have crazy names and we weren’t stuck in Christmas.
I loved those trope and had a lot of fun reading it!
This book was fun, fast, and gave me warm fuzzy feelings! Super fun!!

Such a unique and entertaining read.

I did request to view the ARC of this book solely for the cover and the title so I read this for funsies.

Olivia and Chuck's break up went viral so when they got offered to participate in a reality show, they jumped at the chance because they needed the money. We follow them along as they film the reality show at the same time, battling feelings for one another.

It's really easy to read and fast-paced. Right off the bat, we saw the instant connection and chemistry between the main characters. As a fan of reality trashy shows (lol), I did love the whole premise of the book. It's new imo and both characters are so lovable and relatable, so it's easy to root for them both.

We saw both their growth and how they juggled being in a relationship, breaking up and the process of them moving and living together due to the show.

I love the sprinkle of the games and challenges brought on by the producer of the show and the punishment. Reminded me of Too Hot Too Handle which is my fave reality show.

I love that due to the film, they were literally forced to talk and coexist which made them open up about their struggles and challenges in life and in relationship. In a way, it made them their relationship stronger than ever.

Thank you to Dutton Books, @duttonbooks and Netgalley @Netgalley for this arc. All thoughts are my own.

Olivia thought she was done with Chuck, but when their very public, fiery, breakup is caught on tape and goes viral, they find themselves with a unique proposition in front of them. They can go on a reality tv show, for the chance to win one million each, but the twist is that there is one bed, one bathroom, and no dishwasher, oh and they have to do a bunch of challenges over the course of the month.

Chuck readily agrees, but Olivia only goes along with it because she needs the money to keep her grandma in a nice nursing home. She really wants nothing to do with Chuck.

Can these two learn how to turn their sizzling hot communication style into one that is more worthwhile?

I fell in love with Holly James in The Deja Glitch. That book taught me how much I love time loop romances! I secretly wanted this book to be that book, but just slightly different, however it wasn’t. I was only slightly disappointed because this book was amazing in it’s own right! I’m quickly learning, with the help of this book, how much I enjoy reality tv romcoms! Funnily enough while reading this one on my kindle, I happened to find myself listening to a thriller set on a reality tv show as well! It made for a fun time.

Getting to know Olivia and Chuck was a lot of fun. They were fiery and spicy. I loved how over the course of the book they learned to communicate despite being jammed up for it. I have been in a relationship that reminded me of Olivia and Chuck’s fiery style. It didn’t end up quite as humorous for me as it did them though!

I recommend this one for those looking for a laugh-out-loud rom com. Do be warned that this book is all about the miscommunication trope, but it was pretty hilarious in my opinion and I didn’t get frustrated by it because I was too busy laughing.

Picture a couple so irresistibly drawn to each other that they can barely keep their hands to themselves. Now, imagine them agreeing to spend an entire month together without succumbing to their passionate urges. Meet Olivia Martin, the scandalous offspring of a clandestine affair between Hollywood icons. Raised by her grandmother and burdened with debt, Olivia dreams of becoming a writer. When faced with the daunting task of funding her grandmother's care, she reluctantly accepts an offer from producers who see potential in her viral video spat with her ex-boyfriend, Chuck.

Chuck finds himself ostracized from Hollywood following a heated altercation with a top-tier director. Desperate to salvage his career and finances, Chuck agrees to participate in the TV show concept that reunites him with Olivia. Yet, beneath his surface motivations lies a deeper desire to mend their fractured relationship, particularly in the eyes of his family.

Can these tempestuous individuals resist the pull of their shared history and simmering emotions? With unresolved feelings lingering, the stakes are undeniably high.

I adored this book, awarding it five stars for its electrifying chemistry! I wholeheartedly recommend diving into it without spoilers for the full experience!
