I'd like to thank Holly James and Penguin House Publishing for this ARC! This was a super cute, feel good read and a great palette cleanser type romcom. I loved the antics, the character personal growth, and the insight into how reality tv works. (view spoiler) This story wraps up nicely with a HEA if that's your thing, but I will say it felt really abrupt in how it ended. I feel like the ending could have been longer especially in regards to what Olivia was going to do next once off the show. I'd love to have read more of that instead of the quick ending and an epilogue of the story a year later. Feels like it could've been another 50-100 pages and I would've eaten that up! Otherwise, this was a really great quick read and left me smiling. Thank you again for the ARC!

Name Your Price makes you ask the question "How much money would you need to live under the same roof with your ex for a month?"
Undoubtedly, Olivia and Chuck have SO much physical chemistry but they are mentally not connecting well. When their heated breakup goes viral, they are asked to be on a show to win a million buck IF they can manage to stay in the home together for a month. Both desperate for money, they agree. Chuck is a B-List actor who is dedicated to his job, and Olivia is a writer who is equally dedicated. Olivia also struggles with a lifelong scandal from her celebrity parents in the tabloids that she can't seem to escape. I worked in the reality tv industry for years so this was really a blast for me to read! Everything felt very true to being on a reality show set which is a huge kudos to Holly James for good research!
This book was so much fun and the kind of easy read you pick up at the pool in the summer! Once I hit the half way point I was hooked and was rooting for them, but the first half I did kinda question "should they even really be together??" but if you wait its worth!! Once they got into the house it was like I couldn't put it down.
My ONLY qualm is it felt like a slow burn but also too short of a timeline if that makes sense? I don't know how those could co-exist but they did which was odd but it didn't stop me from really enjoying this read. I can't wait to read another Holly James book!
Thanks you Penguin Group Dutton, NetGalley and Holly James for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion!

I loved this! It was light and easy to read, the characters were ENGAGING AND INTERESTING and the premises was unique! It is near impossible to come up with a truly unique romance novel at this point but I loved that the book started with the crazy break up.
Absolutely would recommend! Don’t skip this book!

Liv & Chuck are volatile together- in great ways and in terrible ways. After their explosive break-up goes viral. Chuck, who is a B-list actor at best & Liv, a writer, are scouted to film a TV show where they have to live together for 30 days to win a million dollars. each. Life changing money that they both need for different reasons.
There's a catch. There will be challenges & there will be rules. That only leaves the question - can the survive 30 days together?
I am giving this book a solid 4 stars! I enjoyed it! I loved the banter & the rules. I LOVED the grandma. Give me a sweet elderly woman anytime. I think in ways I could also relate to Olivia. I think that being scared of fighting and running away from things is something that is easily done and completely relatable. I understood why she did. Being in love is scary. The future is scary. I just really enjoyed her & the growth that she achieved while she was in the house. I was a little off by Chuck for most of the book, but he definitely redeemed himself in the end for me and I was happy to see him learn how to communicate with Liv. I thought the twists were good! I enjoyed the writing style. Would definitely recommend!

Okay, I first want to start by saying how thankful I am to be given the opportunity to ARC read. I can't love every book I read and unfortunately, this book has been put on the dislike list.
I DNF this book at 30% because it honestly was missing the mark so much for me. I didn't like their dialogue, and I have come to the realization that maybe Holly James' writing might not be for me. I was excited because of the description but sadly couldn't get into it.
I have no doubt this book will be a hit for people who enjoy Emily Henry, Christina Lauren, and other authors such as those but sadly I am not someone who enjoys them.

Olivia and Chuck have always had chemistry, but one risk in chemistry is an explosion. As their relationship finally goes up in flames, it happens to be caught on video and goes viral. Olivia is heard saying that that she wouldn't stay with Chuck for a million dollars. Then the TV reality show Name Your Price comes knocking, offering Olivia just that if she can cohabitate with Chuck for one month on camera--no leaving and no touching.
This was a very cute and quick read, with an execution as good as the premise.
Thank you, NetGalley, for an advanced copy of this manuscript.

I loved this sweet rom-com! It has the perfect balance of entertaining dialogue, spicy scenes, emotional growth, and likeable characters. Chuck and Olivia are in an on-again/ off-again relationship that goes viral after an epic public breakup. Since they’re both in the Hollywood space, they get asked to be on a reality tv show to win million dollars, but the catch is they have to live together for a month! Drama and sexual tension ensues… This is a cute, easy beach read, and my first read from this author! Definitely recommend!

more so a 3.5 but i liked it! the concept was a little different and i really do appreciate that the major declarations of love happened off camera. i did struggle with really, really feeling the romance. it was interesting though. chuck being this b-list actor and olivia being the child of two famous people is always something interesting. i do with the epilogue gave me a little bit more thought. overall, if you’re looking for something quick and easy, this would be it.

I was so excited to receive an ARC of this book!
I really enjoyed the chemistry between Olivia and Charlie. It was great to watch them learn how to work with each other, and for a relationship beyond just fighting with one another. Having them entered a reality show where they're locked in a house together was such a unique plot point, and was really a good way to highlight their intensity/chemistry. The pacing was a little quick in some parts, I did expect them to be in the house for longer. But that did not ruin my enjoyment of this book. Overall, Name Your Price made for a quick, easy and enjoyable read.

Holly James is an author for me that I honestly think, can’t go wrong. Her style of writing captivated me from the start and I LOVED the main characters. She has a way of delivering well used tropes in an organic and unique way. This is the perfect summer read. What a fun second chance romance! Devoured it

I received an ARC from the publisher.
I really liked this book! The characters were well-written and well-rounded. They seemed like real people, which is something that I really appreciate in my rom-coms. I didn't find any loose plot threads by the time it was done, so I felt like this book was given a lot of time and attention by the author and the editors. I really have no complaints.
Chuck is swoon worthy and Olivia has one of the most realistic character progression arcs of any female romance lead in recent memory.
5/5 stars

3 Stars! As much as I really liked this plot, the book itself didn’t grab my attention the way I’d hoped. I felt like the book just went on and on and over explained things so I started skimming through. The books main characters were Olivia and Chuck and I liked both of them, for the most part, but didn’t really get the chemistry between them. This is the second book I’ve read by this author and I really do enjoy her work and would read her again. Her plots are original, interesting & the main characters have me rooting for their HEA ending. Worth checking out if you’ve never read her before. That being said, I did feel bored with this book at times and it took me about a week to read when I usually read a book in 2-3 days.
*I received this book at no charge & I voluntarily left this review.*

Thank you to Penguin Group Dutton and Holly James for this ARC of Name Your Price. I had a fantastic time reading this book. Olivia and Chuck’s breakup going viral causes them to land on a reality TV show where they cannot touch each other. I think this level of reality tv, mixed with second chance and revenge plot, was very enticing. It felt slow to start for me, and I wish there were even more insight into Chuck and Olivia’s previous relationship going into the show. I think their chemistry was golden and the plot was well constructed. The end felt clipped to me, almost too neatly tied in a bow too fast, but I liked the book regardless.

To be entirely honest, I am a bit unsure of how to rate this. I adored Chuck. The premise was interesting, though executed a bit oddly at times (lots of things that didn't seem to be considered). There was chemistry between the characters, mostly because of Chuck. The mystery with Chuck's firing and Liv's parents was mostly well done (the thing with her parents was a little weird from Liv's reactions)
I would consider it 4 stars for all of that.
But there were just so many times that I just could not tolerate Olivia. Her raging lust over Chuck was over the top in an odd way, and everything about him was always about that. All the way to 70% in, he would say something really sweet or romantic and she'd just be all about how hot he was or remembering sex with him. It was really off-putting. Similarly, she just always wanted to be angry with him, while we were meant to think he was fighting with her in the same way. He was CONSTANTLY trying to get her to grow up and stop picking fights with him, and it just made me feel sad for him and that she didn't deserve him.
Even when she finally recognizes her "running" issue, it just feels anti-climactic since Chuck was saying it the whole book, and then her grandma and BFF say it. Where were they before, getting her to wake up? She was 31 years old, not 21.
She also wasn't necessarily the brightest bulb in other ways. Her reactions to so much were histrionic and self-centered, and lacked the skeptical mindset she supposedly had.
I also didn't understand a lot about the show. They kept being sneaky or just talking about things and that only came back to bite them when convenient. I also feel like it was ridiculous that they didn't even make it one week at the house. They were supposed to be adults, not teenagers.
So with all of that in mind, I struggle to go with 4 stars. I guess 3.5 stars?

loved this romance and that they were broken up and went on a TV for a million dollars . They found ways to get to know one another better and find out more about their families and still have smexy times.

Olivia and Chuck…although I prefer Charlie. There is so much chemistry between the two and I couldn’t put the book down. I finished it in a day and there really is a great story within the hate/love romance. The book kept getting more enjoyable and I couldn’t wait to finish it and find out how it all came together..and for the two of them to figure out everything as well. It’s a feel good story that I think is worth a read!

—Thank you so much to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the chance to review an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is such a fun unique romance. I wasn’t sure i was gonna like it but i ended up loving it!
One bed trope. Hands off rule. 1m at stake. Will they make it to the end?
One of my faves of the year!

I wasn't sure I would take to the idea of a game show being part of the plot, but I surprisingly enjoyed that element. It added that "different" piece to the typical trope of high chemistry, break up, get back together. The thing is, the chemistry between Chuck and Olivia IS intense, it IS present, and then it DOES become unbearable to handle when they are on the reality show and CAN'T act on it. Plus, there was a side dose of familial relationships and character development. This is a FUN read.
Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group Dutton for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a cute and authentic book by Holly James! Thank you NetGalley for the read, it’s greatly appreciated.
This was my second read by this author and I could very visibly see her progression as an author and the depth of writing reflects that. A fun plot with an even more fun ending, I can appreciate the plot twists in this novel and saw the MMC as a bit bland, but overall I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun and trendy read!

I found this rom-com meh. The story is cute and light, but I often found the characters a little annoying and not completely realistic. I liked the concept of the novel, but the pacing of the story wasn't alway quite right. It took a while to get to the meat of the plot, but then would wrap up quickly. The ending just sort of arrived quickly without much satisfaction. Overall, it's a breezy, quick read that's mostly enjoyable, but didn't leave a lasting impression.
